Rae Lakes Loop Backpacking Kings Canyon National Park
This was a 5-day 4-night backpacking trip along the beautiful Rae Lakes Loop in Kings Canyon National Park starting at Roads End. We saw lots of wildlife including bears, deer, marmots, chipmunks, and snakes. We caught our quota of trout and had them for dinner and they were delicious, catch and cook! Rae Lakes is very popular because the PCT, JMT, and the Rae Lakes loop all pass through. The totals for the trip were about 44 miles with 8,600 feet of climbing. The date of this trip was from July 24 to 28, 2024.
