The Flying Crane Qigong, in particular, emphasizes graceful movements that mimic the elegant flight of cranes, renowned symbols of longevity and vitality in Chinese culture.
Animal Qigong practices are very lovely to practice and they engage the creative and child-like part of ourselves, while connecting to the healing energy of nature.
Sometimes Animal Qigong (deer, bear, tiger, snake, leopard, crane, dragon, etc) can seem a 'little out there' or esoteric - but they often have incredible health promoting and healing effects on body, mind, and spirit đŠ
I'm Jeffrey Chand, an acupuncturist, practitioner of Traditional Chinese medicine, and Qigong instructor.
I am incredibly passionate about sharing simple Qigong practices because I have directly witnessed how helpful it can be for a variety of health issues, prevention, emotional/mental health, and even spiritual health.
The style that I try to present is simple but effective, because it is based on several Qigong traditions, clinical experience, physical therapy, traditional and modern medicine, and from working with many people from a variety of backgrounds.
This style can be practiced if you are an absolute beginner and if you already have experience in Qigong or Tai Chi.

I practice mindfulness and train strongman, thatâs basically my life atm lol, and Iâve put a lot into both. All that to say this is an excellent warm up before pressing (esp like log/OH presses). And his feet and knee position advice is spot on for actual squatting (toes out, drive knees outward as you sink and explode out of the hole). I love when passions come together; Iâve even found very brief mindfulness moments before each set, where youâre slowing your pulse between sets and priming your brain for the mind-muscle connection, really did translate into results for me, mainly at first. 37 isnât old I guess, but the joints feel that way sometimes and movements like this are key to keeping them functional. Thank you Jeff. I enjoy your routines. However, my feet often begin hurting when I do qigong, due to not moving the feet much during certain types of routines. I find I have to shake or move around more to alleviate the pain/tension. Am I doing something wrong?
No joke, I'd have to sit and consult with family and friends to tell you how many rehabs I've been through over the last 35 years. I've been doing Qigong for a little over two weeks now, and though still an addict, I've already entered the contemplative stage (rehab-speak for "thinking about quitting"). I also went 24 hours without putting an illicit substance in my body, which is something I've not done voluntarily for about 20 years. So I gush. TLDR. Who cares? Whatever. Your're the best, qigong's the best, and I feel lucky and thankful that I stumbled onto your site. TYTYTYTY!!!!
