One of the most useful aspects of Qigong practice is that we can enter into a state of “Stillness.”
This is a time when our body, mind, spirit, Shen, and Qi can just stop, unwind and come back to centre.

I'm Jeffrey Chand, an acupuncturist, practitioner of Traditional Chinese medicine, and Qigong instructor.
I am incredibly passionate about sharing simple Qigong practices because I have directly witnessed how helpful it can be for a variety of health issues, prevention, emotional/mental health, and even spiritual health.
The style that I try to present is simple but effective, because it is based on several Qigong traditions, clinical experience, physical therapy, traditional and modern medicine, and from working with many people from a variety of backgrounds.
This style can be practiced if you are an absolute beginner and if you already have experience in Qigong or Tai Chi.
If you are curious, give Qigong practice a try and I am sure you will notice benefit to your health and wellness :)
To get the full benefit of qigong practice I would highly recommend practicing full routines which can be found in the "Communi Qi."
This is an online library with:
    -full qigong routines
    -short qi gong routines
    -members question and answers
-the "Universi Qi" where we discuss Qigong, Traditional Chinese medicine, wellness, and inspiration

Thank you so much for watching and building your wonderful Qi!
Question: What do you do to experience stillness?
For me, watching the ocean, walking, and of course Qigong inspire stillness!
Also, watching sprinklers nourish the garden!
    🙂
    ~Jeff

Thanks for asking Jeff! We are very alined, with all that you listed, except for watching the sprinklers, since we don’t have that where I live, just south of you, in PT. The other for me is, whenever I pick up a chisel in my right hand,(left handed) and a hammer in my left, before I even put it to stone, time stops, without even thinking about it. With that, I am going to go for my walk along the beaches of the Straits of Juan de Fuca, looking up your way. Thank you so much for doing all that you do, for the world, really!

Catching beautiful clouds or skies, listening to my body when it's at 200% and it is time to find stillness, practicing qi gong.
I really value how multiple aspects of your videos promote stillness: your calm voice, the beautiful nature around, the practice and mindfulness you lead us in, and the peacefulness and joy you share. Thank you!

Thank you for creating all of this wonderful content, Jeff! I have been practicing for a few years now and am beginning to teach. I focus on a breathing/body/mind practice of sorts using different cultures techniques and Qigong has been a wonderful addition to what I share. You are the first person who I learned quit a bit from and followed along with practicing. It's brought so much balance into my life in all sorts of ways. The service you offer is so important for the world. I appreciate you! Take care.

I was never good in school with reading, although I'm able to a little here and there. I'm not of a hands on learner, can learn through listening and observing. That being said...While I know bits and pieces about the organs/meridians I was wondering if you have any recommendations on any content, books, or videos for learning more in depth about the organs and meridians? Thank you.

I recently had mild covid and was forced to isolate from my family. I was mainly in my master bedroom and office. My wife always has a tv on so it was nice to just sit in a quiet room with no tv and pull books off bookshelf that I had bought but never had time to read.
No tasks, no work no pressure to go to gym or go out hiking or work on fiving house.
    It was nice.

I love the still mind, relaxed body i feel from qi cong. i especially benefit from your teachings, Jeff. I mostly choose the ones in nature which adds such a beautiful element to the lesson/experience. i also meditate daily on the inner light and sound as taught by Sant Baljit Singh. Also, i receive alot of peace from listening to the real instruments of Indian classical music (not synthesized music). Just had the thought to ask you if you might use some Indian music--maybe the flute or sitar or the one that just has 4 notes and sounds like the ocean waves --tamboura--maybe with some slow tablas (i play at tablas--also very centering for me) in the background of some of your lessons?! Goes together nicely with qi cong, i think! Would that be possible? Thx for all your good work, Jeff!

I have been practicing Qigong off and on for a while but not regularly. I am 55, limited mobility and recently have had a very sharp pain on the outside of my left hip down to outside of thigh. Like a pinch. I've had dry-needling for it and massage just yesterday but the sharpness is still there. I can't see a doctor until next month. Can someone tell me if Qigong can help this and if so, how? I'm not sure if it's a pinched nerve or just nerve pain but it's making me flinch with every step.

Everyone is a little different. Some respond immediately, some take more time. We often have to combine different 'tools' to help find balance.
Keep persisting, keep experimenting and you will find your way 🙂

Sara, when u do the movements with jeff, really really focus on how your body feels as u move it. if your leg is involved, tune into how your leg is feeling as u move it in each way jeff is showing. do this for each part of your body. if thots come up, just let them go by gently noticing, but not grabbing onto them! keep on with the practice and i feel confident you will get positive results. also, u can fake it til u make it! pretend it is making u feel good and relaxed, less anxious thinking...see what unfolds.

    • @susanshea4679
      @susanshea4679 Před rokem +1

@@edieandy1 i can imagine that happening--sometimes my mind strays off of the movement i'm doing, so i'm doing it without any attention--then, i don't feel much benefit and my mind gets a free ride to think all kinds of anxious thoughts, etc. When I catch my mind wandering into anxiety or other unuseful thoughts, i try my best to bring it back to the movement my body is doing right then at that moment. Then, i try my best to pay close attention, focus on each movement and how it feels in my body. If nothing works for you, perhaps you could try a more active exercise for awhile to see if that quiets your mind and you start to feel some relaxation and freedom from worrisome thoughts. like running, some very active forms of yoga, fast walking, swimming, biking, canoeing, raquetball, etc. Rebounding on a small trampoline I find is actually quite fun and can be very active and take away my mind! Let me know if you find something that works for you, ok, sara?
