Breathing has been shown to help many aspects of physical, mental, emotions, and spiritual well being. Almost all healing and wellness practices include breathing techniques - ranging from very simple to very technical and directed.
A major aspect of Qigong practice is breathing. In fact, some forms of Qigong are only breathing exercises practiced while sitting or laying down. This form is quite good to practice, especially when we are lacking in time
The ancient Qigong practitioners observed the incredible benefit breathing had, on the body for encouraging complete healing, and preventing illness.
Here are a few benefits of breathing practices:
    - Reduce stress levels in your body and mind
    - Lower your heart rate, balance blood pressure
    - Reduce depression, anxiety, balance emotions
    - Manage chronic pain
    - Better regulate your body’s reaction to stress and fatigue
    - Reduce the possibility of burnout for caregivers
The great thing is, breathing practice do not have to be complicated! Here is a simple Qigong breathing technique that will leave you feeling relaxed and energized!

This short Qigong practice uses a very common exercise that is great to practice anytime of day. You can:
    - Practice in the morning to energize and wake up
    - Practice mid day to reduce ‘busy-ness’ and lower stress
    - Practice in the evening so you sleep deeply and peacefully
    - Practice when you want to be here and now - in the Present
*** And possibly my favourite reason… practice to just feel good! **
I'm Jeffrey Chand, an acupuncturist, practitioner of Traditional Chinese medicine, and Qigong instructor.
I am incredibly passionate about sharing simple Qigong practices because I have directly witnessed how helpful it can be for a variety of health issues, prevention, emotional/mental health, and even spiritual health.
The style that I try to present is simple but effective, because it is based on several Qigong traditions, clinical experience, physical therapy, traditional and modern medicine, and from working with many people from a variety of backgrounds.
This style can be practiced if you are an absolute beginner and if you already have experience in Qigong or Tai Chi.
If you are curious, give Qigong practice a try and I am sure you will notice benefit to your health and wellness :)
To get the full benefit of qigong practice I would highly recommend practicing full routines which can be found in the "Communi Qi."

Thank you so so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Struggling with chronic fatigue due to a number of invisible ailments. Did this one with a couple more of your videos, for about 20 minutes. So many of us hustle through trying to get through the day, feeling tired even when we've rested and wondering what's wrong and feeling guilty about it. Your work is so important. Thank you for making it some of it free and accessible. Much love.

This is great, thank you! I've got issues with my heart rate, and so I haven't been able to do standing routines lately. I haven't liked the sitting routines out there- they're often designed for seniors and kind of boring. This gets close to hitting the spot though!

I enjoy this and I like breathing exercises, but in this practice I was surprised that you said that it is ok to breath in with the mouth, I thought it was encouraged to use the nose in qigong. We got the nose for breathing and if you breath in through the mouth you miss the important nitric oxide that is produced in the sinuses and that has a big impact on our trachea/windpipes.

The music was made by an odd Qigong instructor named Jeffrey Chand 🙂
We don't have it available on its own yet, but at some point this and other original music will be available.

Great stuff. But can I suggest that you do not breathe in through the mouth? It is generally not recommended.
