I want to try this, but I tried to keep high humidity for my plants before and the soil started developing mold from no air flow. Do you add a fan to this now and again?

It's true, you can grow most plants in water. I have monstera and philodendron varieties in leca, completely submerged in nutrient solution and they grow better than in normal substrate.

My routine for pests is I give all my plants a shower at least once a week. For my alocasia it’s twice a week. Having a limited amount of plants definitely helps me keep up the is routine.

I actually love the minimalist look! I find it peaceful and cheerful.

I tried to make a DIY greenhouse from PVC pipes, and a plastic bag that you can store sweaters in. I don't think it becomes humid in there. 😫

I just got those same beneficial mites yesterday, and you could see them crawling everywhere even in the bottle. I just stand and watch them crawl on my plant and save my life.
