Love the fact that you're getting into Hitchcock's stuff. A lot of people miss out on his filmography because they think movies from that time are too old or dated, but really, a lot of his movies are more or less timeless and have enormous rewatch value. Might I recommend Dial M For Murder (another confined setting movie, but clearly better than Rope imo) and Rebecca (like a 40s The Shining, without the weird bits).

Prepare Coby SCARFACE if you haven't seen it. Another movie, talking about the 70s is The Getaway with Steve McQueen, that would be good too, it's by director Sam Peckinpah, who also directed The Wild Bunch, one of the bloodiest and most violent westerns of the 60s. Peckinpah inspired John Woo in his style of filming, Peckinpah used a lot of slow motion in the action scenes which later became a hallmark of Woo's films.

The location setting is Chicago. The Wachowksi’s are from Chicago so it would make sense. Lot of the locations stated in the movie are streets in the Loop like State and Balbo or Wabash and Lake.

It's a classic and I love it, the only thing I don't like is the happy ending, I don't buy it, for the wounds he had, Travis should be dead, it's hard to believe that nothing happened to him and also he was free of guilt and charge after killing those people, he didn't go to jail, that's also hard to believe, that's why the shooting is the real ending for me, the rest is unnecessary. Just as Ridley Scott cut the happy ending put by Warner in Blade Runner, I would cut the ending of Taxi Driver and close with Travis dying in the shootout, a perfect ending for this dark movie.

Love BHC. Saw it at Grauman's Chinese Theatre when I was 17. What an experience. The place was packed. Everybody was LOLing, cheering. But 48 Hrs. Is my all-time favorite. Funny but way more gritty. It’s was Eddie’s first movie (2 years before BHC). 48Hrs made such a buzz because it was so different. It was considered for best picture nomination but didn’t make the cut because the Academy Awards people didn’t like the swearing. LOTS of swearing. lol Such a great movie. In 2 years, Eddie made 48Hrs (1982), Delirious (his legendary HBO standup special in 1983), then BHC (1984). His career EXPLORED after that.

This movie is overrated. That’s right, I said it.

Many people were upset about this film. Mainly her love for Leon. But Leon never felt that creepy type of love toward her. He saw her as an apprentice, at the very most a daughter. She had a crush. Leon was a good dude and knew that was inappropriate. Leon saw her as someone he could pass his skills to and his money. He knew he wasn’t long for the world. He couldn’t change her mind of being a cleaner. He wanted to make sure she got her revenge and go on to be successful

first time I watched this movie, I immediately rewound the tape and watched the whole thing again. Twice in 1 night, I was that impressed.

Wish we had seen more clips of his Mum. Tonis acting in this film was phenomenal.

Hi Coby. I'm glad that u liked the ever James Bond movie. Hope that u will watch the rest in release order. If so, then I'll be watching From Russia With Love which, imo, is an underrated BOND movie.

I'd recommend watching Pulp Fiction next, if you haven't already seen it. It was the next movie Tarantino did after Reservoir Dogs, and it was his breakthrough hit.

Anyone who just discovered this film, i consider that a blessing.

Always let the credits play to the end, especially the older Bond films. At the very end you will get the title of the next film following, "James Bond will return in...."

A great movie. Tarantino's 2nd best in my opinion. For his best, you need to watch True Romance.

Nice to see a movie that gets under the skin. Too many people want reactions to Hollywood fluff, all terrified of reality.

With regard to cocktails, "up" is short for "straight up" and means without ice. Classically, a martini is made with gin-a flavored alcohol. It's stirred with ice, then strained, to avoid introducing too much water from the ice and diluting the flavor. Bond is ordering a different drink. He wants vodka, ice chips, and air bubbles. Some people like cherry soda. Bond likes slushies.

Unfortunately, no one can be told how bad the 4th Matrix movie is. You have to see it for yourself.

The argument in the car about Pam Grier, Tarantino had Pam star in Jackie Brown it’s a must see! Also Vega’s brother Vince Vega is in Pulp Fiction!!

I love the Charles Durning performance. He deserves big credit for this and most everything else he did that I've seen, he was always excellent.
