I hope you will enjoy my efforts in trying to gain a better time for myself in this competition. Question : Are LiHV allowed (means Lipo 7.6 nominal, and 8.70v once charged) ? Thanks
@@coygtrc That's a good question to ask Gabriel to which I have absolutely no clue how to answer you. And that is my honest answer. As long as the voltage doesn't exceed a 2s lipo, for example, you use a 3s lipo which is 11.1v, I would assume it is OK to use. Mark Bryan used a NiMh pack hump battery in his stretched DT-02 so I would think it would be alright to use. I personally don't use LiHV batteries so I wouldn't know. I'm sorry I don't know the answer 🤔

Great updates, very straight to the point! It's starting to get pretty tight, eh? I was happy to see Mark gained a McMile extra and got ahead of me again, now I hope the rest of the contenders will improve their speeds and get past me. I'm out, but I really enjoyed the challenge, Peter! Especially that last bit where I put some effort into it, and the buggy was lovely on the asphalt. I'm hoping next year to move that speed gearbox over on my DT-03 and put a proper nasty brushless system in it and beat my personal best, which I think is 82 km/h, it'll be fun!

@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC 2 joint first positions in the brushed department and a World Record holding winner in the brushless department as well... I took my rebuilt Holiday Buggy out for a quick spin last night and the esc turned itself off!!! What the f#kc?? I've now fitted another one and the 7700kv motor to see if I can blast past my current 44 mph time 🤔🤔 Fingers crossed that all goes well 👍 I might have to visit your test track for better results 😝🤣😆
@@cw-01creations46 Sweet mate.... I've got full faith in you to totally smash it mate! (the time, not the car!) I had similar issues tonight- Tested the 11turn out in the dark after a very long day at work..... but the ESC wasn't liking it and went into limp mode after hitting 37mph and melting the battery connector! 😬 I now need to borrow my 120amp hobby wing esc out of my RC10 If we are to stand any chance of hitting the 40mph target! Swifty said he had a call from you earlier that he couldn't answer as he was In a restaurant (suprised suprise, they are always eating!!) Try calling him during the daytime mate, as all those bums do is doss all day whilst the rest of us are working!! Maybe give him a buzz on your lunch break perhaps? Cheers buddy. 😊 👍 👍 👍

@@cw-01creations46 Cheers mate..... but the ESC is fine,it just went into thermal cut out. It will be perfect for moo moo with her core rc set up. 👍 I've got a 120 amp hobby wing to use, which should be a better match for the super modified motor for our last run..... I was probably pushing my luck trying it with that esc! Had a lot of fun with this Holiday buggy over the last month or so mate! 😉 👍 👍 👍
@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC The DT-02 is a great bit of kit in any form and you can do loads to it to match it to your own style of driving whether on or off road. It is one of those kits that if you were going to the beach, this would be one of them that you would take 👍 A good contender for your Figure of 8 Tesco Track springs to mind 😝🤣😄 I'm hoping to get down your neck of the woods on Sunday for a final blast of my DT-02 miniature Aqroshot look-alike to get a better time than I already have 👍 Fingers crossed there won't be much traffic in the neighbourhood 👍👍👍

@@AddamsPlayground Hi Addam, Joe has whizzed past everyone with his lip-smacking thirst-quenching World Record Holding 70 mph time... Every time I take mine out, the esc goes turns itself off after the first try. I think it's time to reprogramme the esc and swap the motor over to the 7700kv one to see if I can get past 44 mph!!!😄😁🤣

Great update again Peter, thanks for all the hard work! It's close across the board, I tried again today with a new (old vintage actually) no turn limit ESC and only 35mph with a crash and a blown vintage ESC!!! You can't win 'em all! Take care mate! :D

@@MarkBryanRC Hi Mark, thank you for the kind words, Maisie sits in front of the camera when it suits her so I've resulted in letting her do her own thing and then I'll carry on 😁 If I had chosen the 5mm light buckets then I would have had issues trying to get the light clusters joined to the rear wings but by using a smaller light bucket, the rear clusters will glue straight on with no issues and will still perform as they are supposed to 👍

@@PeteWylieRC Thanks Pete, I've always wanted a Sand Scorcher but not at the price they are for a kit so I opted for the cheaper version of just the bodyshell (tight git) and therefore I am putting a mild twist on the finished article. More coming soon 👍

Oh, that's a nice project, lots of real hobbyist work going into this! Interesting to see the subtle differences between these body shells, I did not know this... Yeah, I can imagine that speed competition is keeping you busy, he he... I promise I only have one more entry, then I am done. 😉
@@madsrcbuggy Hi Mads, out of the 3 projects I have started, this one is all bodywork and a chassis build so I thought I would show this one . The competition is in full swing so haven't really got much time for this project but will eventually get there 👍

You know that you've had fun with a car when it sheds its paint buddy! That Green one reminds me of Kermit the frog with those curves and big round eyes! Cheers for the GH shout mate..... quite fitting as apparently Taylor likes a hard body(ooh er!), his marriage to moo moo is just a front..... I think secretly he bat's for the other side! 😂 I do love the Blitzer, it's a great kit.... Infact I still have moo moos one here to repair from our Tescos sessions where burger baps kurbed it and broke the steering! 🤷♂️ 🙄 The sand scorcher body plan sounds delightful mate, it has Peter Smith written all over it as a project if you ask me! And funnily enough, I've actually chosen that 'cum' white Tamiya spray for half of my vw bus shell that you got me! (more on that over the Autumn once running season draws to a close!) Great minds think alike eh?! Looks like Maisey and Onyx have much in common..... Both love getting on camera and featuring on CZcams! 😂 👍 👍 👍
@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC Oh yes, you need a Blitzer in your life as well. I've got a convertible lined up as well for the Blitzer Crew so that Kermit and the Pickup aren't as lonely. I've got various Creations in TS-7 which blends pretty well when you do a two-tone paint job 👍 Convertible vid coming soon 🤘

Who needs brushless?! 😂 Sorry dude, things are currently manic this end at the Green Hawks camp..... We just about managed to squeeze a run in yesterday, now need to find a minute to edit/upload it..... Great job keeping track of this, so nice of you to arrange this challenge. I still need to figure out if I have one more go at it, or if this was my final try... I think possibly autumn has come early this year, so might be limited on good run days...

That 55mph is a great speed. I tried a couple of other motors but while they should be faster they just don’t pull. I have to say I’ve never had a car as stable as my build for this. It’s a dream to drive. Well done to everyone
@@thebandit1974 Hi Nick, I think it is something to do with the aerodynamics of the different bodyshells that make such a huge difference with set times coupled with a long road to run the vehicle also helps. A massive Thank You to you for taking part in this DT-02 Competition. You & CoyGT are wiping the floor with the brushless category including myself with your magnificent brushed speed times....
