It's on Spotify with the same name, it's a shorter 2 hour version due to limitations on the platform. There's unfortunately no way around these limitations without actually breaking the track into parts.

Are there much better synths these days though? IMO the Virus TI2 still has no match, it's even still much more powerful than a lot of synths today - many of which seem vastly underpowered and often lacking decent polyphony, multitimbrality and short on essential sound design features. I guess this just goes to show how powerful the Motorola DSP chip was used in the Virus. Today we have FPGA chips, which seem good but maybe not as powerful and I've heard they are very hard to program. I'm not even sure what I could compare my Virus to in my studio, it's not really outclassed by anything else I have, including my Super Gemini and Waldorf Iridium, nor can either of those really sound like the Virus. But yeah I agree, it's sad they'll be no more Virus synths. I just hope we get much better chips and powerful synths some time in the near future, because there aren't too many synths to get excited about today and most come with limitations that leave you scratching your head in 2024.

@@stateazure Oh, I agree with you that in 2024 much more is expected from those synthesizers that are currently on the market. Everyone copies each other. But real innovation is lacking. It seems like everything has been at a standstill for a long time. Maybe the Osmose is a step,but I don't like the sounds.( I could be wrong because I only heard the demo's on YT.) I replaced my Polar with the Novation Summit. I have no regrets about that. Especially with the onboard FX, it has been my favorite synth for a while. But knowing myself, there's a good chance I'll get a TI2 someday. I'm just so afraid that if it breaks down (which I've been reading about quite often lately), you'll be in quite a bit of trouble because there's no support.

@@TrillianMilesMusic The Omose has some nice sounds, and the keybed is absolutely wonderful to play, but the synth engine is a nightmare. Arturia Polybrute 12 takes a very similar MPE expressive keybed and puts that on a Polybrute synth, that's really quite exciting for me since I love that keybed. Unfortunately I can't really afford one at the moment :) Summit is great, I still have one, though that synth took at least 2X FGPA chips I believe, but it's a lovely synth with probably the best internal reverb I ever heard on a synth. Regarding the Virus, even if you had one that breaks, you would be legally in your right to use the new Virus chip emulator (and full Virus emulation), it's 100% a Virus in software (I've not tried it myself, but hear good things).

Did you use a real ARP 2600 with stepic? Or why does it say 2600?

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed this one. To be honest, since this video I've only made a handful of patches and still not had nearly enough time for it. These synths are supposed to share some DNA with Jupiters..well I don't know about that, and I've never owned classic synths or even played any like you have, so it's not something I can give a qualified opinion on. At least among the synths I own, it seems quite unique and fits in well and I quite dig the sound, even if the sound pallete is maybe quite limited. It's also incredibly fun to program. Not sure what else to say about it really, but I'm looking forward to taking for another spin/video hopefully soon. Hard to say if you'd really benefit from a Super 6/8 in your studio, but hopefully you can try it out and see, would be interesting to get your opinion on it if you do get one! It's definitely not a synth I 'need', but then again I'm not sure any of my hardware synths are.

​@@stateazure Thanks - I was waiting for a response - and for some reason, CZcams just doesn't tell me if people respond to my comments on their channels. It's really annoying. I've been on a kick to offload a bunch of synths I haven't used and don't use, so hopefully I can try one out and let you know what I think. I only played a S6 once, so who knows. I find that - probably what makes a soundscape so interesting is more than just the synth (was just watching your Virus TI video from yesterday and that was, like this, excellent - and it just reminds me how much a lot of this is the skill and FX that are used. Hell, most of my stuff is probably not even recognizable because I put them through so much! FYI - not sure if you've tried one out, but I think you'd get a kick out of the System 8. You can always change the LED colors in post processing if the green annoys you (it annoys me for sure).

@@MIDERA Well CZcams is being weird like that for me often, and by the way YT also blocked your reply here haha..I had to manually accept it, though I think you may have used one of my blocked words (I have it setup very strict to deal with scammers). Your own stuff sounds great and not too much FX imo. I know sometimes people want to hear a dry sound or internal FX only, but we're not doing shop demos! Oh I had a System-8 until now long ago, but I sold it since changing my main MIDI keyboard to a Roland Fantom 8, this kind of covers most of that sound for me. I do have a JD-XA I think I'll keep though, and should probably put that on the desk for an improv soon...so many nice sounds on that thing, and I can see why Ulrich Schnauss liked it so much even though he owns incredible classic synths.

Aside from liking/subscribing, does commenting on a video help to push the YT algorithm? I'm pretty new to the YT business, and recently had an automated ID claim on a video for the first time. I was very confused, as it appeared to me that the main coincidence was an a-minor chord. Now, I'm scratching my head if there are people who have a copyright on the a-minor chord... 🤔

@@MinorRandomNoise I'm not aware of comments affecting the algorithm, but who knows! Yeah these auto ID claims are a pain and unfortunately you'll have to deal with them sometimes. Just dispute as soon as possible and mention that it's entirely your own original work, and that you can prove it/own the original project files.

Comenting does push the algorithm 🌈🌈🤡
