Helicopter horse rescue April 1st, 2024, Norco CA.
zhlédnutí 2,5KPřed měsícem
This was a very technical rescue of a horse which became stuck in a river. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department helicopter, Rescue-9, was called to long line the horse to safety. This is a different operation than our usual hoisting of people and requires a great deal of technical expertise from organizations such as: Riverside City Fire’s tech rescue/HART team, CalFire, Norco Animal Rescu...

Here is one of the training scenarios with a new member to the unit. Here he is trained up as a rescue specialist to ride the hoist down to the victim, assess, and make the victim ready to be hoisted up into the helicopter. Later more training on becoming a hoist operator. Look for that video in a few weeks!

Being a great leader requires showing those you lead that their safety is paramount. One way to do that is to have a functional working knowledge of the operation through hands-on experience. Here, our bureau commander took it upon himself to want to be trained to deploy on the hoist to get just an idea of the complexity of a hoist rescue operation. We certainly appreciate that!

Wonder what the bill looked like

I wonder how much money will those .... have to pay for this?
Great thx for heroes!!!!
This was my granddaughter and she is fine now. I just want to give a big Thank You! to the entire rescue team. They were so fast and coordinated in their efforts. From the helicopter crew to the men who actually hiked up the trail in all their gear. My family and I are forever grateful.
Wonderful guys !
May God bless these brave souls, who do this ! I know Rick climbers think they are above God, facts, odds, gravity and the rest of us ! But they are not ! Just stupid people that don't mind wasting resources and putting others at risk when they f up !
how much does this cost if a person is to get extracted?
$free
If I am not mistaken, these operations are free. The state of California's higher tax rate lets them fund things like this.
@@ceremyjlarkson9475 interesting, that's tax payer dollars well spent
I believe that if it's a legit medical need it's free. But if you get rescued and it's not a legit medical need, get ready to be in debt for the rest of your life.
I HOPE BOTH OF THEM ARE FINE AND RECOVERING WELL😣😣😣😣😣😣🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
RESPECT FOR THE REAL LIFE HEROES 😣😣😣😣🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
Этих дураков не нужно спасать. Тратить время, силы, рисковать жизнью ради идиотов
Impressive work by all of you. Thank you so much!!
the last thing he was saying I gotta say nice to that good work
You guys are so cool! Great rescue!
Do they charge you money for this type of service in the United States?
What an amazing pilot! Awesome rescue guy too!
Hell yeah
Thank you for all you do!
That’s i call amazing work
Props to the helicopter, it must have insane pull if its able to carry this guy's massive balls
Good on you guys, thank you!
Spoken like someone who hasn't a clue about dying from dehydration.
dude, getting a heli rescue just because you are dehydrated???? that is seriously a massive waste of resources and the rescue crews time!! what the heck, that is so insanely rediculous. the hiker should have either just sat down and waited for another hiker to come along (its the PCT, there are tons of hikers on trail right now) and asked for water, or just kept walking until he got to some water. I hope that he has to pay for the rescue, because it was 100% non emergency.
I have to disagree - even minor dehydration can quickly turn into a major medical emergency and result in death relatively quickly deadening on the conditions. If the guy either waited for another hiker or continued hiking, he could have started to have a decreased consciousness level which could lead to him randomly walking off trail, falling, and then becoming a missing person. This could have led to a much greater emergency that would have cost exponentially more. Granted, he should have brought more water with him, but it is bad to hesitate calling emergency services when you feel that you are in danger.
Apparently he could barely walk and was really beyond 'just wait for someone to give you water'
Great Job! Thanks for sharing
"helicopter ride courtesy of riverside county" my tax dollars going to saving these bafoons

This is really breathtaking
Awesome Rescue Operation 👍 these Airbus H145 Helicopters are used for rescue flights in Germany too. Nice to see this models now worldwide 👍
a dislocated shoulder? Well you grind your teeth and you walk down. This is ridiculous.
Awesome job, RNRC Above and Beyond!
It would be interesting to know what the most dangerous helicopter rescue you've ever done was. The most intense helicopter rescue I have seen was a coast guard rescue in bad weather on Deadliest Catch. I'm relieved to know there are awesome professionals like you that are able to help people when they are experiencing an issue while hiking.
There are lots of bad weather coastguard rescues on you tube. Those guys are amazing
Well done! Makes me feel a lot safer exploring with my boys knowing you guys are out there! Do you have a RECCO detector on board? I was thinking of making my boys bracelets to wear with the reflectors.
Great rescue, great training in an odd situation. More live experience never hurts.
If it were up to me i would have left them there...people who foolishly go scaling mountains and the like then end up in a situation like this expecting others to risk their lives to come rescue them...they are the epitome of selfishness and arrogance...LEAVE THEM THERE!
Incredible skill !!! Thanks for all your training and dedication to saving lives !!!
Impressive flying skills! The counter top guys must be thinking, that rock will make a lot of granite counter tops. ;)

Im sure there's some temptation to tell the injured party what an incredible dumb*ss they are. People that climb up those rocks have rocks in their head.
To say amazing is an understatement! Great job guys! Thanks for all your service!
Outstanding!
