Kia and Hyundai has really poor design engineering, inadequately designed electric powertrains where they tend to overheat and fail prematurely. MOBIS 36500-0E710 and Hyundai Gearbox fail on every EV after 60k km and costs 9500 Euro

Have you ever cleared a CHG_f012_hw_FastChargeDriver fault? I have a feeling its a code stored in the eeprom somewhere and cant be cleared normally. Your videos are awesome!

If this is 3x16A unit, how does it perform 7kW (32A) AC? Is there any realy which connects L1 and L2, or it reuses supercharing bypass relays to connect L1 and L2, and therefore making HV battery live at mains voltage (lost of glavanic isolation)?
I'm doing 2020 model 3 long range upgrade also! Did u have any issues we should be aware of? I had a guy here in US that programs the MCU to long range. This is first one we doing on my first model 3 battery swap

I have a 2020 standard range model 3 battery pack. I don’t know anyone who has opened one and replaced module. How difficult to remove top of pack.And anything else I should know in trying this repair? Love the videos!
Excellent suv’s. My it’s old model 400h. On the clock it 490.000km and pure like cat. Fuel consumption between 6,9 - 8,6L/100km. Last time at Toyota check battery health it was 91% 🙌🏻
@@alexa795 not possible. Battery has life cycle for charge and discharge up to 200k -250k km. Middle cells cook from overheat, battery was probably serviced or changed
@@evclinic I am the first owner. I never ever have any issues with this SUV. Serviced on every 15.000 km at Toyota. My other company car it’s Toyota RAW PHEW with 360.000 km on the clock. Still on the only battery have range of 65km on highway. I city 85. When car was as new I have range in the town around 95-97km on battery. So please don’t talk rubbish
@@alexa795 absolute nonsense 😂😂 battery has 2000 cycles after which it degrades fast and goes into defect state. Battery is 100% changed under warranty, at least once.
@@evclinicOnly defect here it’s how funny you are. There are numerous taxi cars here in Sweden that are Toyota Prius with more than 500.000 km on the clock, everything original. Also crappy BEV cars that are just a junk after 150.000-200.000 km. No one uses any more BEV in taxi here. Why? The are just a junk.
Motor and gearbox have just been replaced on my eniro from 2020 after 77.500 km. On the other side I know a taxi driver having driven 450.000 km with the same car and he's not finished with it.

I just opened my tesla repair shop in Tampa,FL In United States and I have a standard range battery with similar issue. Would be awesome if I could repair the brick as a test for future packs
Work in an industry that lives by a triple lip…every time we’ve tried single or double we have issues. Convinced anything but triple is a waste of time

Total BS. Consumer Reports compiles reliability data and the BMW hybrids get excellent ratings. I had a 540 hybrid up until last month; turned it in at lease end and got an i4 M50 EV, which is fantastic.

You get to see the sparks going through the path of less resistance around the damaged bearings

This seems a very common issue across all the Kia e-Niro forums. I myself have the issue on my 36 month old 43,000 mile car. It is going in tomorrow to the Kia garage for motor and gearbox replacement.

Acc. different publications a Li-Ion Accus can be fully charged 2000 -3000 times till EOL. So its no surprise, that the batteries failing after 100k to 150k km.
Yeah, Hybrids are crap. Without limitless rechargeability and solid state batteries, this is never going to make sense.

I have golf GTE 7 141tkm and still running perfectly :/ and ive floored that thing countless times even with cold engine!! ONly reason why im considering golf GTE8 as a stepping stone before move to full electric when ranges get better.
You are around failing mileage. GTE is one of the most expensive crap to service. Common gearbox failure some 6000€, new battery is 11000€. And last thing, you lose 20x more time on charging than using pure EV. Range with ev is already good.

I am looking something more precise: how to dismount the HV battery, how to disassemble battery blocks and take out particular cells, how to map the diagram of kia soul spy to the physicals cells etc. Perhaps you have already in your channel - I will go and check. Definitely like for this video.

Hybrid batteries are too small. I would have 1000 charging cycles on the battery after 3-4 years.
Yeah, the (few) poor cells are beeing beaten to the max.
Why bother with worst of both worlds - go either ICE or (preferable) BEV. Basis physics that a high voltage and capacity battery will work more efficient. Customers are paying the price for emission compliance. Thanks for the videos and efforts.
Customers can buy a proper BEV.
My 2012 Opel Ampera (Chevy Volt) works perfectly fine despite a (metric) SHIT-TON of cycles I’ve put the battery through.
Yes they are reliable. We had only one with 200k and defect battery. Had several with isolation issue

Hybrids are, if new, maybe fuel saving but after some km and years its not money saving its money burning!
With some medium feedback of failure patterns, they tend to fail from 50k km, and up to 200k km. Average price range is from 10000-20000€ for 30km of range. Second thing, they are mostly unrepairable, all destroyed cells

What are the parts that are changed besides the fuses? Can the circuit board be removed without soldering?
All power dependable parts, not only fuses. Fuse is never cause of problem. Board must be desoldered

Most of the hybrids are craps… x2 as much BS to break and replace. Honestly I like model s and x because of the batteries can be repaired. Fixing 3 currently at my tesla repair shop. I don’t like the newer tesla batteries that cannot be serviced 🤦♂️

I mean the Chevrolet Volt was certainly a very good car, even if it was a plug-in hybrid. easily one of the most reliable cars made in the last two decades and reliably passed half a million kilometers. How many kilometers you get before battery failure depends on what kind of batteries you put in, if you put LFP batteries rated for 12000 cycles in your hybrid it could easily last decades just as well as an electric car. Completely agree with you though that they're a bad compromise though, a real EV is certainly the better option.
2 systems = 2 x maintenance = 2 errors = 2x costs
hybrids make sense years ago but EVs with LFP batteries just render hybrids as crap.
Depending of hybrids...I had Opel Ampera,2012( Chevy Volt), plug-in , sold it on 250 000 without any problems.

@Stefan_Dahn Why? First gen Chevy Volt from 2011 is very strong. Battery is 16kwh with 10khw usable, the buffer is huge.
