Hello I live in London. I have a smart 453 eq 2022.Recently I had an accident.Everything has been fixed even crash sensor has been replaced but they car can be charged. Both batteries are flat I used jump battery. Dash come on shows don’t tow the car and goes off. Can you please advise me what should I do? Thank you
Hello. I live in Norway, and there are hundreds of 453 eq. These problems you mention are not known to the Mercedes dealer. Strange as they have a common computer system in Norway, and can look up faults on car models. An acquaintance of mine works for mercedes and he said the 453 eq was a reliable car with few faults. In Norway, the car has a 5-year warranty, and 8 years on the battery. My car is now out of warranty (5 years last week), driven 67,000 km without a single fault. Have spoken to at least 10 people who have a similar car with a mileage of 30-90,000 km. No faults on the cars. Have we in Norway got better quality since we have a 5-8 year guarantee?
In EU , 20000km warranty or 2 years. 8 on battery.
Every 2 days we have one 453 crap. Check our web for them. Motor fails on 80k km, 5000€ new. Dcdc 7000€ , obc 7000€, battery 14000€
@@evclinic In Norway there is a 5-year guarantee. Why don't they fail here? You write yourself that Eu has an 8-year warranty on the battery. So what's the point of you fixing them? No 453 eq is 8 years old yet.
@@castroorstad8215 Norway has extreme laws against automakers, they cant fraud owners. And yes, they fail in norway, but when it fails you dont know what they do and was problem. You think maybe some fuse, but they change complete powertrains. In europe they ofter decline warrant, example one: if you leave smart on 5% and it drians battery below 0% in few days, that is declared as misuse and warranty is declined. And if you dont make all oil and filter changes and oem then wartanty is declined. You have one last post from germany owner. They wanted 8000€ for fuse.
@@castroorstad8215 Only the battery warranty is eight years. The rest of the car - including the power electronics - is guaranteed two years.
Also, yes, different markets get different cars, even within Europe. Volkswagen does that, as far as I know, possibly Renault as well. Although, given the small size of smart Gmbh as a company, I doubt that they have the logistics and inventory to send different builds to Scandinavia than to other parts of Europe.

This makes me regret buying a smart car. It’s a 2018 and been good so far with 25000km. If this goes there are no 3rd party companies to do this work so I will have to cut my losses and send it to scrap. Not worth investing in a disposable car. Probably going back to gas car if I end up with an expensive repair like this. A good used gas car for the cost of this repair and a few thousand extra. Disappointing seeing this. If it was externally mounted form the motor this would be adaptable as I could do it myself

@@evclinicMercedes dealership will not repair it. They do a complete drive terrain swap 7000 EU. I paid under $14k eu with taxes etc brand new. Unfortunate there is no companies that offer your service. Disposable car, just hope it lasts
