@16:56 The spider is likely Dolomedes tenebrosus. A fishing spider, and arboreal (normally living in trees). Very interesting to see it living in the dark at the back of a mine.

Have you ever thought about contacting grade schools to partner withe them in sharing Leon's story and your woodland adventures? Urban children in particular would have no experience in raising shellfish or exploring a forest. You are such a gentle, humorous and informative person that younger children would love you as much as I do

It's amazing that Leon possibly picked up on the giant clams will to live, he's become non-vioent and will only eat the clams you buy that are already open and clearly dead, bless him 😅

While I absolutely love watching your vids about Leon- hooked me during lockdowns, I am so concerned about bat colonies. I used to love watching them all fly off to their nest(?) at dusk, but noticed there were fewer and fewer making that flight path. I no longer live in the same area and I don't have the honour of standing outside to watch them, but with you bringing this up, I wonder if it's mobile phone towers, 5G towers that are messing with their radar I live in Cape Town, South Africa. You only saw 3 bats in that cave? ? I love your vids ♥

Growing up we had bats nesting/sleeping in the attic of our shed in the backyard. We never messed with them. We had a pool in the backyard with a light. The bats would eat the bugs, especially the misquotes!

Love how those small bats can be sooo cute, soft, warm and begging for a rub on their backs and bellies, right up till when they open their mouth and shows their rows of tiny white needles, then they are no longer cuddly or nice 😱 Had the unfortunate "pleasure" of having to put one out of miserly, some years ago, it was lying on the sidewalk with a broken arm, screaming and hissing at everything that went by, saw lots of people walking by just watching it and saying aww, before walking on. This was around noon, so it must have been there for quite a while, I noticed some people sitting in a garden a bit away, so I went and asked if any of them had a knife or other sharp object, one was a house painter who lent me his filling knife which I then used to unalife the poor bat and put it under some hedges for a cat or fox to enjoy later. It was not an easy task, but when a poor creature is in distress I can not just leave it to die slowly! I did however take the opportunity to study the little body closely, and man was that fur soft, and tiny feet and a cute face, once the mouth was closed 😊

Thank you for sharing the bats!! I'm not surprised they weren't in the first cave you visited, the reason bats spend their time upside down is that the majority of species lack the ability to take flight from the ground and so they hang in places that they can easily drop down and start flying from. These are a few meters up so that there's more space/time for them to be able to start flying and not smack into the floor.

Please be careful with the bats due to RABIES. Rabies is something you want no part of and bats are known carriers of it. Love your video and don't want anything bad to happen to you!

This never gets old. I'm so glad I found your channel Brady and before you know it you will be at a million subs 💚 and you deserve it. And so do Leon and the other animals and plants. I'd love to see more of your gardening and plants. I just now finished hardening off all my vegetables and flowers and got some neem oil to spray them. I'm most excited about the banana peppers, cucumbers and dill. Nothing more fun than pickling.
