@Bradybrandwood So wow Alexa just told me that Leon can live 20-80 years. That’s quite the range. Have you put him in your will? Just curious because in the parrot world, some of our larger birds can live 80+ and are willed down the family line.
that freddy jacket is scary, let us know if you see any chicken of the woods or dryads saddles!
Looks to me someone's doing alil something in them caves..you be very careful you don't know what you could "bring" back home with you..its not a joke..I didn't see any markings so that's sum what of a good sign but many x there very hidden..but also yah you don't want an angry bigfoot either..lol😂
Weak-sauce. You'll have to try harder in order to make me download the app.
Your friend is funny.. but that's the differenc between the English and the Americans - An American thinks 200 years is a long time and an Englishman thinks 200 miles is a long way. :-)
Is it just me, but does Leon's beautiful coloring seem to change every time Brady uploads a new Leon update? He has a brighter stunning turquoise blue on him. Leon is one handsome dude..thriving and healthy!
I noticed, too, that his blue is more vibrant! Almost an electric blue… He’s amazing!
Yes I agree!!
Are we talking about a shellfish?
@@whitefalcon630
Yes, an enchanting lobster fellow. I don’t know why it is, but I watched the first Leon video and was captivated by it. I don’t understand how his face/mouth works, and his giant claws are so intimidating, but his little feet on the back look like he’s wearing high heels and it makes me smile. He’s so other-worldly and fascinating. You probably think I’m nuts but I’ve become very attached to this creature and enjoy every new part to his story.
Yup
Was just saying Leon looking very handsome
I love how these vlogs are never just about Leon. I enjoy the variety.
Agreed. Sometimes I might skip a section but generally enjoy watching it all!
I'm just here for Leon, but it's super easy to skip around, so I have no reason to complain.
Come for Leon, stay for cats and nature!
Yes😊
Now that he's had several rounds of molting, he is unidentifiable with his old self. Congrats, Brady. You really unlocked his beauty. I love the blue. So handsome.
He definitely looks alot different!
Yeah! The blue on his shell is so cool! I wonder if more will shift towards blue eventually.
I wish that more of the internet were like this. I feel like I'm part of a family here.
You said that perfectly. ❤
Howdy, cousin. Long time, no see!😊
Omg! We’re the Brady Bunch! Hahaha! ❤
😅😂🤣😍 yes, The Brady Bunch
Check out howie the crab!
The fact that Leon was helping the clam bury itself blew my mind!! Not only did he know what a clam is and that it needs to bury itself in the sand, but he wanted to help it?! An act of lobster compassion?! Maybe he wants to cultivate it like you said and treat it as a pet or plant, but it's completely possible that he sees the clam as its own living thing with needs and desires. That's amazing!
leon may simply know that having clams around is good, because they filter the water
It's possible he was just burying left-over food debris, which is something lobsters do. They have a good sense of smell/taste so it's entirely possible that Leon knows it's not just a rock.
let's not anthropomorphize the lobster too much.
@DissedRedEngie True. But we could all see that the lobster purposefully pushed sand towards the clam that he noticed was burying itself. What is your theory as to why he did that?
@@DissedRedEngie Idk what exactly you consider overly anthropomorphizing, but Leon clearly recognizes the clam is alive, sees the siphon, does not attack them, is intrigued, and for some reason throws sand on them. I'm not saying this is specifically to help them, but it also isn't random behavior.
Just found out how long lobsters can live. He potentially could outlive all of us!
They are pretty much immortal, it's pretty cool
If we help him molt when he gets really big, he'll eventually become a giant leviathan lobster god for us to worship.
I hope Brady has legacy planning in place for Leon ❤ He really could outlive all of us!
They only die because they get exhausted from moulting in their later years which is in the 100s so yeah lobsters are immortal
Yep, learned that from a lobster fishing channel I follow too. Yeah I know...but they educate too and they can't keep the bigger ones. They caught one they thought was probably 100 due to his weight (1lb per 7 years I think he said) and his claws not really functioning well (likely from no longer molting). Gave him a fish and sent him back home.
Leon gets more and more beautiful with every molt. Thank you Brady we appreciate these series!
Oddly, this is the first time I've seen clams dig into the sand. Quiet fascinating.
Me too! I did not know they did that. 😊
@@lisawarsh-chartier9473 Well, I knew because as I child I use to dig them up. I just didn't know how they managed to get under the sand at the beach.
Me too. They're so freakin' alien looking. Fascinating.
Me too! I had no idea they did that or had little siphons sticking up! Fascinating!
Apparently I am not the only one who is noticing that Leon's colors constantly seem to get more vibrant. Absolutely beautiful!
This has to be one of the most interesting channels on YT.
So glad my son told me about you.
Hi Dad!
I'm not your dad; the mailman is.
I love how Leon is changing color. He is becoming quite handsome as he acquires a blue hue and I had no idea those clams were alive, since you got them in a supermarket.
If dead they would be open and should not be eaten
That's where Leon came from !
SERIOUSLY?
SEAFOOD MARKET!!
NOT SUPERMARKET!!
@@LathropLdST
Ok ok 😁
they can only be sold live..if they die and aren’t frozen or cooked, they’re bad
Brady, I really appreciate how you enrich Leon’s experiences. Glad to see more nature footage. Those bats are beautiful, not the bugs. (Edit for spelling)
Absolutely ❤
I enjoyed him taking us to the caves. I'm not one to go in one. I'd be worried about a cave in. Thank you for this video.
I have never seen clams dig in the sand before. I enjoyed watching this also.
Leon is wet bugs
Bugs are pretty amazing. And very necessary.
Approximately how many bats did you find?
Hanging out with you and Leon is the most soothing 24 minutes of my day.
Who would’ve thought I would follow a channel to watch the progress of a lobster bought from a grocery store!😆 absolutely love Leon!
I really love how you started with just Leon, and now you have this whole ecosystem of aquatic creatures.
and the cats and Koi
Leon's still livin' large, we love to see it!
How old is he now
Started watching from when he got Leon off the supermarket
He’s now 674K subs
Brandy is doing a fine job as their caregiver. It is probably a lot more work than we see. I have been enjoying his content from day one.
I had to snicker at Brady saying he gets seafood sets from the same place he got Leon... As he was sold as seafood... Tho I am very glad to get to see Leon living the good life.... He really got me thinking about Lobsters, Crabs and Shrimp as more then just dumb animals to eat...
@@jonathanbair523
All creatures are intelligent within the capacity they are created. Observing them live their life is a good thing. Admittedly Leon is in a tank but considering he was on a seafood shelf ready to be boil or freeze to death I will make an exception. I hate zoos only been to one, it was enuff for me to know that no animals should be kept in cages especially those thats on top of the food chain. Will never forget my direct eye contact with a tiger in a dug out shocks me to the core. I couldn’t go any further turn back & waited for my friends by the zebra’s containment..at least they don’t look as miserable. Never will enter a zoo or support one
@@H_A_L_7 They say lobsters gain a pound for every 10 years of their life so he'd just have to weigh him. Considering he got it from a supermarket, and those are pretty much always like 1-1.5lbs, I'd say he's probably pushing 15-20 years or so. In the wild, assuming they don't get caught or eaten young, they can live up to 100 years he's gonna be around for some time. Although, there isn't much on keeping lobsters in captivity afaik, so maybe he'll live longer or less time. Hard to say really. Lobsters can in theory keep growing and aging forever since they have negligible sinesance (they effectively can't die of old age), and the only limiter on their age is their ability to molt which becomes increasingly difficult as they get bigger and bigger.
Oh I LOVE bats! Thank you so much for checking on them and being so respectful! 🖤🦇
Same here, they looked so adorable! He was right about me wanting to pet one 😆
Me too ❤
I came to watch initially for Leon but stayed for your intelligent interesting observations. Your content and lovely nature are addictive Brady. Thank you for showing us your wonderful environment and the creatures you share it with.
In addition to our Leon updates/kitty adventure videos, I love Brady's outdoor exploring segments. I'm pretty claustrophobic, but I somehow really enjoyed when he went into those caves..I learn something new every time Brady puts a new vid up. Those bats sleeping in the cave were adorable..but poor little bat that was found dead 😔.
Oh my gosh Jett has a beautiful gray mane now! He grew up so pretty 🤗🤗
When you fed Leon with the "grabber", you mentioned he would hold it with one claw and take the food with other. I see the crabs displaying the same behavior.
Leon is a phenomenon. And damn his claws are looking swole. After his next molt, he's going to be even more hulked up.
Leon’s interaction with the clams is interesting.
I can't get over how pretty and healthy he looks. Thanks for being a good friend to him :)
Watching Leon and friends just makes me so happy and for a few moments I forget all my troubles.
Most definitely,very therapeutic! Thanks.
Right?
I'm just back from 3 days in a log cabin in a forest - this is Britain, so when i say Forest, think small wood to you - and I nearly wet myself with excitement on seeing a deer. A solitary Roe deer. Well, actually, the bum of a deer, as it bounced away from me. For this privilege I paid £650 - that's $820 to you. I watch your videos in awe. You live in such a beautiful place. You literally go out your back door and enjoy the most stunning scenery. Thank you for sharing your experiences - I loved your exploration of the bat cave - though rather you than me with all those spider crickets (luckily we don't have those here!). Leon is looking fabulous, and I Iove how you protected the little crab. Your videos are compulsory viewing!
This is the beauty of OUR USA... wherever we travel WITHIN our Country, there is guaranteed diversity. 🤗❣️
These clams really went "Imma head out" x3
“Imma head down”
I've been watching Leon since the first video. It's amazing how much he has transformed into a beautiful lobster!
Your close ups of Leon are spectacular. The colour, clarity and frame fill just are adorable, and very skilful. Thanks for finding, creating and showing the big boy to us all.
Much kudos for keeping the little crabs alive too!
I hope the clams have a good life. After meeting Leon on CZcams, all fishes and crustaceans are precious. :D
I remember the very first video about Leon. This channel has grown and evolved so nicely. The one unexpected thing from following this adventure is I can't eat lobster anymore
I know what you mean. A while ago, a cooking show I watch regularly had a recipe for lobster rolls, and all I could think was, "You cannibals!"
I can't even walk by the Lobster Tank at the grocery store anymore. I have to look the other way if I must go by it. I hate that they have the Salmon right next to it. So once in awhile it's difficult to avoid seeing. And I hate that the Lobsters are alive in that tank for weeks with no food or ability to eat for so long, Rather inhumane. Don't know why Lobsters get a pass by the Humane Society.
Eat barnacles tastes just like lobster
Bats are one of my favorite animals. Thank you so much for sharing!!!! They are so underappreciated and incredibly adorable. THIS IS SO COOL!
How precious was that when he helped the clam bury itself 🥹
It's neat how Leon helped bury one of the clams. Wasn't expecting that at all.
thank you for continuing to keep us up to date on Leon. i've been invested in Leon's life for almost 2 years now and it brings me such joy to see that you had compassion for a creature that was intended for consumption. i just know he loves you as much as a lobster can love another creature.
I don't know how I found this but I can't believe I've been following Leon since day 1. I look forward to the new videos all the time.
Your videos make me feel as curious and calm as I was when I was a kid
They make me feel this way too! So calming and wholesome :)
The three legged cat is turning out to be quite unusual cat too. That big white mane he has.
Another amazing look into a little planet full of interesting critters just living their best lives thanks to you!
What a lovely video! "Lron and the Giant Clams" sounds like the title of a children's book. Have you ever thought about contacting grade schools to partner withe them in sharing Leon's story and your woodland adventures? Urban children in particular would have no experience in raising shellfish or exploring a forest. You are such a gentle, humorous and informative person that younger children would love you as much as I do
We HAVE MENTIONED a few times that there IS a "BOOK SERIES" evolving around LEON.
HOPE IT HAPPENS 🤞🏼
I Missed ya, Leon!
Me to 😎👍
Man I don't know how you do it, every time a new episode comes out I'm always excited to see how the great Brady and Lord Leon are doing! Lol
You're content is always appreciated Brady, keep up the great work!
I love how this feels like a pen pal writing to a friend. It’s very calming and nostalgic.
So now you’ve got clams to boost your water filtration efficiency. Cool! Another tasty type of sea animal free to live safe from more effective predators.
Wonderful nature observations and photography . Your humorous narrative makes this series magnetic .Thanks so much 😊
Leons blue is beautiful! He is looking really healthy Brady.
Leon surviving and thriving it's awesome! ❤ Thanks Brady You're most awesome.😊
I really needto remind myself every time that Clams aren't
plants, but animals. Amazing footage of the clams burying themselves!
I never thought of a clam being a plant
@@danettewelborn5577 How about corals, sponges, or anemones?
@@Spearca My head knows that all of These are animals, but my instinctual reaction is still, probably because of the perceived Lack of Motion, what a beautiful plant.
I also know that Siphonoformes Like the Portugese man'o'war is mobile, and that some sea anemonae can swim. Doesn't Help. Because my knowledge doesn't influence my perception
Always good to check in with the animal friends. Bats are so cool. Glad to see Leon so bright and healthy!
I'm glad Leon is still thriving. He looks great!
I adore how blue Leon is getting in his older age! One day he may turn ALL blue!
@SpringoStar~In Episode 1, I saw faint traces of blue on Leon's legs. As he began to receive a regular diet and grow stronger, his color gradually changed until he molted. He started turning blue after the second molt. Brady takes such wonderful care of his aquatic creatures! It won't be long, I foresee, until he needs a much bigger aquarium.
I am an avid follower of your videos. You outdid yourself with this one. Everything from bats to clams with Leon taking center stage. The old mining tunnels with the bats were a rare treat.
Leon and the Bivalves would be a good name for a psychedelic space-rock group
Love it! 🤩
Spending my morning break watching Leon &Co
With every new video, Leon looks more vibrant and healthy. What a gorgeous fellow!
It's very interesting how Leon treats those clams...like pets. ❤
Leon knows that the sooner the clams settle in and get comfortable, the sooner they might start making babies that he CAN eat!
So basically, he's planning on clam farming to always have food on standby? Clever boy!
@@Fighting.Flower LOL, Leon the clam farmer 😊
that's an interesting thought. just looked up how clams reproduce as i had no idea. apparently at night, the males eject sperm out of their lil tubes sticking up and the females take the sperm in the same way. and looking for the cloudy water coming out is the only way to tell them apart w/o dissecting them. brady may want to take a look and see if he has males or females in the tank if he wants babies. also apparently when they're first born they're free swimming and parasitic to fish gills. i can't remember if there are fish in the experiment tank or not.
THAT'S SO CUTE!!!! Leon helping out his new clam friend ❤🦞❤
Leon's living the good life! Thanks, Brady for being such an amazing human.
I love the vibe of a Leon video, and the music is always perfect
I have always had the softest heart for animals, but even I was surprised at how much I felt that heart in my throat when the little crab was caught out! I knew you’d save him, LeonPapa Brady, but the relief was palpable at my house when you did.
Thank you for your wonderful channel and beautiful content. To visit with Leon really is to enter an oasis of peace (unless you’re a wayward crab, of course!)
Awesome ellariel! Thanks so much for watching. ✌️✌️✌️
I really appreciate you picking up the balloons
Leon is definitely looking like a Spartan. His attennules are a riveting blue. My man is an Adonis.
19:57 "sleep tight clammy" and tucks her in with a blanket of sand haha gold
I can't sleep and I get a NEW leon adventure fresh off the press? You are a true hero Brady! Thanks so much
Did anyone else's heart explode when Leon helped bury the clam? 🥹
Leon is so handsome. He looks so happy & healthy and has such beautiful colors. I'm glad he has buddies in there to keep him company.
My cats love watching your videos.
I truly enjoy watching the antics of Leon!! Such a unique tunnel system in your area, just love nature and you have it in abundance!!
It’s so cool that Leon knew the clam was supposed to be buried and helped it!
It's always great to see Leon. Those bats were special treat to see too. Thank you, Tell Leon He's the best lobster On the Internet. Might boost his Ego. as if he needs it boosted lol
9:15 British viewer here. Today I also visited an abandoned mine. This one in the U.K. was a Neolithic flint mine and was around 4,500 years old.
Leon looks so cool with all that blue on him.
I love bats, and Leon is turning blue!
I would never be able to go into a cave like that... Just the thought of all those bugs and spiders scuttling around makes me shiver. I would feel itchy for the rest of the day worrying about bugs crawling on me.
Wow, Leon's turning blue! He's really beautiful now.
I cant believe how BLUE Leon is now...and how he's gotten more and more blue, and/or any more vibrant, lively colors, as opposed to what im sure 99% of people would say is a lobster color--- some shades of red, red/dark orange....a few blacks, deep maroon...
Of course we have the old cliché of a bad Sunburn, and "he looked like a lobster," which...damn...after being on this journey with BB & Leon... makes me feel dirty and evil realizing that the RED in that metaphor is of course from when a big old lobster is plopped down in front of our faces; the bright, but bold red all over, because ...well... aaaah... yall know...
But um, anyway... it's just kinda surreal to think that what we see in a lobster tank is where our minds go when thinking of the color of a lobster.
But I guess that's sadly actually the color of an unhealthy, unable to thrive, color reflective of captivity.
After all this time here on this channel, seeing how BLUE and actually beautifully blend-colored Leon is, it's seems quite likely this is what a "free range," healthy lobster is supposed to be!
Leon's looking nice, his color is vibrant, you can tell he's happy and healthy.
Leon the Luckiest lobster alive.Love the kitties also as I have a bunch of strays too.
Does Leon know that those clams will clean the water through their filtration? This is fascinating.
BIG HUGS TO LEON AND THE GANG ❤❤❤❤😊
happy to see Leon is doing well!
This might turn into a long documentary about how a well taken care of lobster can turn blue.
If this is true, it might mean that Blue Lobsters are not genetic abnormalities, but indicator they are a well-fed breeding specimen.
can't believe he cames from the grocery sore, what a handsome lobster and he's so lucky to have found you 🥰
Leon’s back. Hurrah.👍☺️
I purchased a coffee/tea mug and it is so nicely made. I love this channel and love helping to support Leon and the animals!
Leon's color is so gorgeous now, I love the shades of blue
I love how you spoil the heck out of all your pets.
Leon's colour is stunning. He seems to become more blue every time we see him
Finally! I was afraid that something was wrong with Leon. Watching him relaxes me!
I come for the sea critters and stay for that music. I love the atmosphere it creates! I like how you can kind of tell Leon knew the first large clam would take a minute and make him vulnerable, so he tries to intimidate the possible threat (his reflection) .
Hi Brady and Leon,
Leon looks wonderful. So healthy. He’s come a long way since his rescue from the Supermarket. Wonderful job Dad. Love from, New Jersey. 🙋🏼😉💋❤️
My grandfather had a bat that lived in the attic of his house for a few years. He told me he liked having it as a roommate up there because it was a good insect catcher. I always thought that was so neat as a kid because I love bats. Going into a cave like that with bats overheard would have been my mother's nightmare though. Lol! I would have enjoyed it up to the point of the giant spider. I respect them from a distance these days, as a kid I liked them a bit more but at some point in my adult life I developed a phobia. Glad to see Leon is doing well and getting along with his own new roommates and the cats are well too. Thanks for the update, I always look forward to them!
The fishing spider is also a good insect catcher - and totally harmless to people.
@@amicaaranearum Which is why I tend to respect spiders from a distance. Lol! Where I live they're very useful to have around because we can have an issue with invasive insect species so I always find myself giving spiders their space. Phobias tend not to be rational though, I don't even know why I went from wanting a pet tarantula as a kid to fearing spiders but it is what it is.
I love the way he passed on acclimating the clams slowly to their new environment, both temperature and salinity wise. Most would do drip acclimation because even turbo snails or snails can be very very sensitive to quick changes along with bivalves, and nearly all crustaceans.
On Leons Channel, nope. What acclimation?
In they go! Hahahaha
Thank you for sharing the bats!! I'm not surprised they weren't in the first cave you visited, the reason bats spend their time upside down is that the majority of species lack the ability to take flight from the ground and so they hang in places that they can easily drop down and start flying from. These are a few meters up so that there's more space/time for them to be able to start flying and not smack into the floor.
Leon is holding that clam and saying, "My precious!!!"
Leon never fails to surprise! Now he is the Giant Clam Overlord 😅... helping one of them out too!
The tunnel adventure was awesome. I used to be such a random explorer but most of the Nature around me is vanishing...so glad you share your adventures with like minded souls...
Leon ''helping'' bury the clams is such a fascinating behavior ! I wonder what he's trying to do. At least he seems to not consider them food, I guess he would be either trying to open them up or pushing them towards the dirty dishes section...
This is the experiment Brady was going for.....
It almost seems Leon was showing compassion for the clam and decided to help it bury itself.
