- In this episode we test the strength of Leon The Lobster's huge crushing claw, find treasure in the woods, get an update on the rescued kittens, and look at what new sea life has appeared in the 125 gallon aquarium.

I live in the UK. We adopted a cat from Bulgaria. He'd been deliberately hit by a car. He suffered a shattered skull, a broken jaw, and both eyes ruptured and had to be removed. Later on we also found out he'd been shot, and has a pellet lodged behind his ear. It doesn't bother him so we're leaving it there. We get a lot of comments about how cruel it is to keep a cat who is completely blind. Yet he is the happiest and most laid back cat we've ever known. He's full of joy and love, even after what happened to him. We take him for walks on a harness and leash, and he absolutely loves going out in to the neighbourhood, sampling all the different smells and meeting people. If I have a nap, he curls up on me and purrs so loudly that it rumbles right through my chest. I've never known a cat like him (and we've rescued our fair share). On sunny days, he goes out into the garden and sunbathes. We utterly adore him, and his quality of life is excellent.

Animals teach us that even if you're old, broken, misunderstood, different... you matter. They deserve kindness.
I find the thought of euthanizing handicapped pets to be appalling. They deserve to live, if their quality of life is not diminished too much. Thank you for taking care of Jett and the other rescue kittens. You're a good person!
I don't understand what makes people think that handicapped pets don't deserve the same love and affection as "normal" cats. That's like saying a blind or handicapped person doesn't deserve life either. My husband is missing his left foot from the knee down does that mean I can euthanize him too?
If it's not suffering, an animal should be given the chance to live just like the rest of us.
Nature is cruel and uncaring, but that doesn't mean we have to be as well.

The fact that Leon takes his time manipulating the different shells shows that he too enjoys enrichment like kids playing with a rubix cube. He's so fascinating!
I have been feeding a feral cat for over a year now. He lives comfortably in my barn. He came looking like a skeleton with fur and is now a chunky healthy cat!
I have a feral couple (Pricilla and Hercules), Tigger (a tiger cat), and sometimes a buff colored cat that comes around and I feed whoever shows up. They also have boxes with heating pads on my enclosed back deck. Pricilla and Hercules have been here for over 5 years and used to have a lot of babies together until a local rescue helped us get them fixed. I myself have 5 indoor cats and they are all rescues. It’s not their fault and they deserve love too 🙂………
We love our barn cat. She was here when we bought the place so we feed her, protect her, anx gave her a heated enclosure for the winter to sleep in... when she doesnt have the exstatic zoomies that is. We haven't had a mouse problem since we started working with her.
I can't believe anyone would comment negatively about the kittys. I agree with empathy. That's why I feed the birds and used to feed a squirrel that came in my window. Just to give these sentient beings a better day.

Animals don’t feel sorry for themselves, they just live their lives best they can. Jet probably would have died but kindness and caring saved him, Just as curiosity saved Leon. I won’t eat lobster, and I’ve taken in every cat that has come my way - if we turn our backs on kindness to those who are helpless or suffering we are lost. Thank you for the beautiful glimpses into your life.
It is absolutely fascinating how long and persistent this entire series has been to me for almost three years now.
I've been here since the very first vid of your bringing Leon from the fish section in that supermarket accidentally got into my recommendation feed. From there on I've been watching every vid you ever posted regardless if it was about Leon or personal side projects because both were interesting and what's more, just pleasant to watch.
Your vids are more like mini documentaries but they have that old timey PBS/BBC vibe to them. The enchanting music in the background; the light transition between the shots; the narrator speaking like he's reciting a novel... I think its those elements that kept me at least following this channel for so long now.
Keep up the great work Brady! This is the type of quality content we're missing today.

I've been here since the beginning too.... Has it really been nearly 3 years?
People who say feral cats aren't worth saving, bug me. I have rescued and found homes for a lot of feral kittens. My godson said it was wasting my time because it made no difference in the long run. I reminded him of the story of the boy throwing dying starfish back into the ocean. When a passersby said it made no difference, the boy held up a starfish and said, "It makes a difference to this one."

I had a cat that had an accident with a garage door chain when he was about 2 and was 3 legged after that, he did pretty ok for the rest of his life with just 3 legs and was one of my favorite cats. He even would wander around in the light woods behind my house with me. He didn't seem much hindered or bothered by his missing leg and seemed happy enough. People don't recognize how adaptable life is.
What kind of person would want to kill such beautiful creatures? I’m sure if the cats had voice to state their preferences, they’d choose life. We don’t kill humans who are missing limbs. Thank you for caring for all the creatures in your quiet, knowledgeable way and for sharing the journey with us.
I'm a little sad for the mama cat, she is alone out there now with no kittens.
@@lideabarker8161 She likely doesn't miss them all that much. Not being cold, just that once kittens reach a certain age, momma cats don't tend to miss them much. Obviously every animal is different, but she's also probably part of a colony that has fertile cats and feral cats do co-parent.

Brady, I think very highly of you for helping those cats. I love that you did a TR on the mama and still provide food for her. I have to say when I saw you had a new video, (and I quote) I said “Oh GOOD !” Love your very calming videos ! You’ve done great things in your rescues of these animals. So question, how long do lobsters live ? I almost get the idea he could be returned to his natural environment. Seeing you’ve done a lot of natural feeding.

My wife just brought me a plate of biscuits and I said, "Watch Leon the lobster cracking shells, you know, the one I've been raving about for ages, he is SO intelligent !" and she replied, "No thankyou !" and walked out ! Perhaps Leon left the tiny crab alive because he has seen it got fed by the same human..? I'm not sure. But I used to own a big dog who hunted all neighbourhood cats by instinct. We really had to grab a tree to fling the leash around or else we'd be eating gravel when she saw a cat. One day I brought home a kitten. I called Misty (the dog), held the kitten in front of her nose and said : "This is now our cat and he is our friend". That was all it took for the dog to accept the cat, who loved to play with the dog's tail and sleep with the dog in his bed. All while neighbourhood cats were technically still on the menu.
Didn't expect the face reveal! As for the geocache, the coolest part about it is that you have an unseen connection with total strangers because they also love your "secret spot"

This has got to be one of the best love stories of the 21st century, imagine Leon goes from being a prospective meal to a superstar 😅 with so many costars, on the matter of the cats I think you did the absolute right human kindness thing so I wouldn't worry about the naysayers, I'm an animal lover myself and I rescue turtles and gopher tortoise all the time down here in Florida. I just don't keep them but return them to the wild, love your videos.

In regards to Jet, we had adopted a cat that met up with an alligator. It took her entire front leg off at the shoulder. Someone found her crying at their front door and took her to our vet. He sewed her up and we felt bad for her and made her part of our family. After a while she was able to get around like she still had 4 legs. She would even catch mice and leave them at the front door!

I have a feral too, who I found in the road in Texas. She was the cutest little flea ridden thing; she was a tiny black kitten so we named her Olive. that was 12 years ago, and Olive isn’t the most cuddly or social cat, but every so often when you’re watching TV she’ll curl up in your lap and let you scratch her ears. I love her so, so much.

You aren't a bleeding heart. You're kind, genuine and empathetic. Some people are just mean. TNR actually benefits us. Feral cats kept down the rat/mouse population. They probably kill other vermin too. Anyway, the kittens aren't feral anymore. They're domesticated. And Jet probably doesn't realise he's only got three legs. He's just getting on with life. Feral (and "outdoor") cats also kill a lot of birds, including rare birds. According to the American Bird Conservatory, in the US they kill 2.4 **Billion** birds a year and globally have contributed to the extinction of 63 different bird species. If one cares about biodiversity and wildlife, one should probably keep all cats indoors.
At the very least, Feral cats should be sterilized so that their population can be controlled.
Feral cats also decimate native wildlife, sometimes even to the brink of extinction, and take away prey from native predators. They by no means are beneficial to a natural environment.
I did not expect to see a 2001 Digimon Apemon figurine and a Furby or the other toys. Also no that is not a Simpsons character but Ferb from the "Phineas and Ferb" series. That is too cool! I love to see how everyone is doing, and all of the new kittens. I have been watching your videos with Leon from the beginning, but I believe that this is the first time I've commented. I trapped and adopted three feral kittens 14 years ago. Best decision of my life! They saw me through the pandemic when I was stuck at home alone all those months. They are still a little skittish around humans they don't know, but they climb all over me and sleep in my bed with me. I'd be lost without them. It's honestly the best thing I've ever done. Don't listen to the naysayers, Brady! I think you're amazing, and obviously so do most of your subscribers. The world needs more people like you!!!

1 - As far as people making comments about Jet, my comment is this. Animal people are a special breed of people (imo) with an overwhelming sense of compassion for ALL of God’s creatures, big & small, healthy & sick. We are caretakers, nurturers, & only another animal loving person could possibly understand why you did what you did for Jet. I was with my brother once, & we saw someone hit a dog in the road & just take off. We immediately stopped, picked up the dog, & searched until we found a 24hr vet who could save this little fella (it was very late). I held him the whole way there & had blood all over me but I could have cared less. We never gave it a 2nd thought.
2 - Now for my question;😊 Do you ever get to Sumpter or Spartanburg? My Grandmother had a huge house in Sumpter that I have not seen since I was in my 20’s & I would love to see what it looks like now. As for Spartanburg, I have loads of family there, & if you ever get there you simply must eat at the Beacon. The absolute best bar-b-que in South Carolina!!!
P.S. - Do you like/eat boiled peanuts??? I miss buying them from the roadside stands 😂😂 In Texas we get them in the can but they don’t even compare!!

Leon’s claws are like nutcrackers or a pair of vice grips. Great test and creative technique on measuring the PSI required to crack open a shellfish. Mussels, littlenecks, you name it. But I urge you to stand clear of Leon’s claws. Powerful as a nutcracker or a pair of vice grips.
I'm an RNC PhD x2 with a minor in religious study. Proverbs 12:10 says, “The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.” Kindness to animals is godly. In fact, caring for them is part of our purpose. I am happy that you show kindness and empathy. I've noticed a huge decrease in empathy with nursing. Many new nurses are thinking it's just a job. Love to Leon! Brady, please consider upgrading that betta to a larger aquarium. In the fish keeping community for some reason there is this acceptance that betta fish don't need a larger tank and are commonly kept is tanks less than 10 gallons. I guess that is good advice for every type of fish but of course , but the theme of this channel and this episode is thriving not just surviving. I have my betta in a 75 gallon community that brings me so much joy. I love your channel.

Just over 2yrs ago I went to CZcams to find a movie. Saw this thumbnail about making a store bought lobster a pet and thought this might be okay for a quick watch... 2 and a half years later I can't wait for the next update. As the channel has progressed it has become therapy for me, not just Leon but the whole home eco system.. Saving Leon has kinda saved me... Looking forward to his next molt, and see how more beautiful he gets.... I used to love lobster, but I'll never eat it again... Please don't rescue a big crab.😊

We have a cat with a broken elbow - we think she had an abusive family before, she would flee everytime we came into a room at first. The vet said as long as she keeps trying to use her leg, it should be okay for her to keep it but it was too late to reset by they time she came in. She's now much more lively and bold, and I think she recognizes that we never want to hurt her. She even meows for attention and sits with us on the couch. Animals are so resilient and determined to adapt, but I think people forget it takes time to happen - and just like us, they can have bad days too. I'm so glad all your kitties are living such lovely lives, and I adore your very beloved lobster. Have a lovely holiday!
The old saying "the more people I meet, the more I like my cat" has alot of truth to it. Evolution hasn't been all that positive for mankind but fortunately animals continue to respect our environment. I bow to them. The company of an animal is golden.

I love Leon and the cats. I had a half Maine Coone named Abby. She was 16 ft up a 45 ft tree. Was husband and two other men got her out of the tree. She was up there 5 days. The owner of the house told my husband not to worry. He'd shoot her down at lunch. My husband would freak if I knew. He had a huge German Shepard and a huge pit bull. He said he'd let them treat her apart. But they got her down. As my husband was leaving the job site. The old man was coming around on his golf cart with a 45 caliber.
She acted like this was her home. We fed her and she slept with us for a very long time. But just how she acted. She knew we saved her. She was beautiful inside and out. She listened to all commands. When cleaning she loved helping. We had her 5 years. She ended up with a liver infection. We paid almost $1000 to save her but it didn't work. I'm broken.😢. Before her we had a pair of daschunds. They were too amazing. My heart has been broken too much.

We can learn a lot from cats. Yes, losing a limb for a cat can mean they will struggle to find prey and are easier prey but a house cat will just move on. Plus cats know how to make the best of rest and the best of play.
Looks like a memorial box for a deceased loved one, maybe items a soldier had when he was a kid.
Those toys are much more recent than any war that took place in the USA

When my father was a teenager, his father (my grandfather) lost one leg just above the knee and the other just below the knee in a work accident. He lived a long, happy life, even with prosthetics. Should he have been euthanized?? I don't understand people that think every animal with any kind of disability should be killed! They are still capable of living happy lives. Thank you, Brady, for loving them all, regardless of disability. I agree with your philosophy on our higher intelligence leading to empathy and compassion 💜

Btw, you can buy translucent shells for hermit crabs, if you want to see how they work. The crab is not bothered by it being translucent as they are only after the protection.

I was working on the roads in a wooded area and I heard this meowing. These two kittens slowly emerged out of the bushes and I spent an hour earning their trust. Eventually I had them climbing up my legs 😂 I took them into the vets and told them where I’d found them. I have no idea what happened to them, maybe they were put down, but I couldn’t leave them to be run over, or starve. They were so sweet and friendly, they didn’t see,m feral at all. The only house nearby by I knew was a hoarders farm and not great living conditions. I wish I was in the position where I could have adopted them but it wasn’t meant to be. Wherever they are, I hope they’re together and pain free.

I've been following your channel and this journey since the very day you first brought Leon home. I watched the podcast before I watched this video as well, and it's so nice to finally see the man behind all this wonderful, wholesome, heartwarming content!

I remember I stumbled upon this channel when you announced you found an alive Lobster in a Supermarket and put him in your Aquarium, which was much smaller. I was like "oh thats nice, but that Lobster has no chance to actually survive after that torture, right?"... well, here you are, YEARS later, with Leon the Hulk Lobster cracking Clams like its nothing.

It’s interesting that Leon has a designated crushing claw and a picking claw. Also, the protuberances on the crusher resemble human molars! Your road trip reminds me just how beautiful the mountains are. My parent’s home near Hayesville brings back so many good memories.
That old geocache was a highlight of your trip and a reminder that a steel box in that environment isn’t such a good choice. Replacing it with something more rust resistant might be a good option for a future trip.
As for the kitty review - yikes! They all look pretty fat and happy. Rescue Cats and saved lobsters! Human compassion and generosity - the great Secret of happiness 🥰 who knew?
