Hail Caesar Vlog #17 Hold the Line! (Roman cavalry commander finished!)
In this video I showcase the recently completed commander for my 28mm Hail Caesar early Imperial Roman force. A very nice model!

Beyond the Gates of Antares Vlog #1 - Test Model ("Matrix" Ghar)
zhlédnutí 310Před 8 lety
In this video I show a test model for my nascent Ghar battle suit force intended for use in Warlord Games' Beyond the Gates of Antares wargame. I liberally plagiarized another CZcamsr's tutorial (see below) for the initial scheme, with a liberal dose of The Matrix because I think the Ghar battlesuit's face looks like the sentinels (not "hunter-killers" as I said in the video). Anyways, it feels...
Hail Caesar Vlog #16 - Unboxing, Partial Review of Baccus Miniatures 6mm Terrain
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 8 lety
In this video I unbox and show some 6mm terrain roads, bridges and walls, namely that I picked up from Baccus Miniatures for my 6mm Roman/Carthaginian project. In short, some very nice work by Baccus, which seems to be the industry standard for the 6mm genre. Stay tuned for more terrain reviews from other producers, as well as an eventual review of the two armies themselves. As always, subscrip...
Hail Caesar Vlog #15 Size Matters - Wargames Foundry vs.Warlord Imperial Roman Figures

Bad Dad Batrep (X-wing #4) - Alliance Extraction from Tarkanen IV
zhlédnutí 263Před 8 lety
Another X-wing batrep using the simplified rules and a custom scenario where my son has to sneak an Alliance spy off of the planet, whereas his evil opponent/dad has to find and destroy the rebel scum! Hail Caesar Vlog #14 - Review: Wargames Foundry's Western Auxiliary Archers
zhlédnutí 1,1KPřed 8 lety
In this video I review Wargames' Foundry's Western Auxiliary Archers for Warlord Games' Hail Caesar. All in all I'm pretty pleased, but there were some annoying mold line issues. Take a look at the video for painted and unpainted variants; also, see below for a link to the WGF site to purchase the models (they're under code IR078): www.wargamesfoundry.com/ancients/imperial-romans/auxiliaries As...
On Monetization...

Which is better, Beyond the Gates of Antares or 6mm Hail Caesar?

Yes, the title is (deliberately) inflammatory, but I'm looking for feedback on which project I should jump on next! As always, subscriptions, thumb's up, comments and (constructive) criticism is welcome! Music by Kevin MacLeod: www.incompetech.com

Hail Caesar Vlog #13 - Wargames Foundry Slingers Complete
zhlédnutí 1,1KPřed 9 lety
It's good to be back with the Legions! Now that The Great Bolt Action Paint-Off is finished, I can get back to painting scuta, pila and gladii! Except...I painted none of those this past week, and instead focused on knocking out some skirmishing slingers from Wargames Foundry for my Hail Caesar Imperial Romans. Pretty nice sculpts, although I did have some issue with miscasts. Now I'm either on...
The Great Bolt Action Paint-Off: Final Showcase

Here is my showcase submission for The Great Bolt Action Paint-Off painting competition. Thanks again to British Legion and MiniatureManiacs for setting up the painting challenge and competition, Warlord and Painting Buddha for prize support, and the great work of my fellow Bolt Action painters! The Great Bolt Action Paint Off #4 - Final Update
zhlédnutí 640Před 9 lety
Work and life got in the way a bit, but I still managed some decent progress over the past three weeks, including a finished Panzer IV, 16 infantry models, a medium machine gun, a medium mortar, and a Pionierwagen. I didn't hit 100% of my targets, but an 80-ish percent completion rate ain't bad, and now my painted model cabinet is a lot more full. Stay tuned for the showcase video. For more inf...
Ramblesode #2 - Channel and Hobby Update, and Where I'm Headed
zhlédnutí 138Před 9 lety
I've heard from an increasing number of fellow CZcamsrs that folks appreciate something to listen to while they paint, so I thought I'd do a bit of a ramble myself. Nothing serious, just an update on the channel, some thoughts on my current gaming systems, and plans for the future. About 25 minutes, little-to-no visuals, just me yammering on about plastic soldiers. Feedback is appreciated as al...
The Great Bolt Action Paint Off #3: Opel Blitz (grr!) and a Puma
zhlédnutí 884Před 9 lety
Bit of a challenging week modeling-wise...I finished up the Opel Blitz from Warlord Games, but I can't really recommend the kit to others (at least the version I assembled) as I had great difficulty with the resin body and fitment. But upwards and onwards: I had good luck with painting up my Puma armored car, and I hope to remedy a botched priming job on my Wehrmacht infantry squad this week. H...
Bad Dad Batrep (X-wing Miniatures #3) - You're Our Only Hope, Corellian Corvette!
zhlédnutí 176Před 9 lety
In this our third Bad Dad Batrep (though we've played a number of games that we either didn't finish, or I neglected to take pictures of), my son pits his elite Imperial force against my lone Corellian corvette. His mission? Disable the vessel so it can be boarded. Mine? Escape the asteroid field so it can make the jump to light speed? Who will win? Stay tuned! (Of note, we're still using the i...
Are you sucking on an altoids or lifesavers? The mouth smacking is a little off putting.
Great review does anyone know why warlord games stopped selling this kit?
All sides were morally "bad" because of things they did. So there is no point in feeling guilt from playing any faction.
The sections with gaps could be for T-junctions? But there seem to be quite a few of them.
Paint it
what did you put the in . i e so you do not to move one after one the time. The unit base looks a good idea, and then when you get causalities you can remove one or two etc
The 4th man in the command group is the Optio, that was the second in command of the century. You lack the Optio in your regoular legionaries too.
I can not digest the simplification of the number of units. A centurion should command at least 60-80 soldiers, not 24. The Warlord Games should make sure that the command sprue has more options, to arm as normal legionnaires some centurions (signifer and musicians) of the sprue of command, since not all players want the centuries consisting of 24 models. It also annoys me that there are not enough pila (plural of pilum) for everyone, especially if we consider the sprue of the command group. Frankly I think I will buy multiple copies of the Warlord base set of the invasion of Britannia, I can also individually base the individual miniatures, but with round bases, to be inserted into a rectangular base with hollow MDF rims to play Hail Caesar, or keep in bulk to play Lex Arcana and other Roman RPGs.
Have they stopped making Wittmans Tiger ? :(
Were did you buy the base?
Nitch market?
neesh
Très beau travail mon ami et de bonne explication très intéressante pour moi Très belles figurines J adore ta vidéo je suis abonné de FRANCE et je serai fier de vous avoir comme abonné aussi 👍 Very good work my friend and good explanation very interesting for me Very nice figures I enjoy watching your video this is a pleasure for the eyes 😎👍 I am subscribed of France And I would be proud to have you as subscriber too 👍
You put the tracks on backwards. The drive sprocket goes towards the front and the idler to the rear. Just saying
Are 3 ranks needed?
I really liked your video. I like yourself really like these mini's. They IMO are on par if not better than GW. The mold lines are minimal and detail crisp. I have yet to base the ones I have painted yet and I just might use your trick. Keep on painting!
It is 28 mm figures?
Игорь Игоревич yes
The dog is a nice addition to this figure.
Ok kinda new to this. What size of bases do I need for my legionaries
"my anal, obsessive compulsiveness will not allow that"😂😂😂😂😂 so relatable, very good review blog brother thanks 👍👌👍
1:72:nd scale is smaller scale than 1:56 that bolt action models are, not larger...
I play Flames of War and Bolt Action and I only play Allied armies (Americans and British for FoW, USMC and Soviets for BA). I have no desire to play Axis armies but I don't care that they're out there.
whit all the respect that you desserve my friend, you have too many free time dude!!!!! paint and play with your friends!!!! this is only a game!!! they were soldiers like the americans, british or soviets... and if you could see what is war in reality you may not be playing these games. please don´t feel bad I´m not triying to bully you, and this is a history game, read history of BOTH bands in the war...and them take your oun conclutions, not the hollywood conclutions... please sorry my bad english, kinda rusty....
Looks great Jason. Nice job!!!!
Very nice work!
Very nice, have subscribed, cheers
Been thinking about investing in Hail Caesar and finding this video series really helpful! Thanks.
My only issue with this box set is that it is the wrong era of Romans. This has Early Imperial Romans conquering Gaul. However, it was the Roman Republic Marian Legions that conquered Gaul. Warlord Games do make Late Republican Marian Romans, so I collect them.
Where is this Tzeenth sorceror model from?
I know this is a very old video. But you shouldn't feel bad for playing or even liking the Germans. The Germans fought for their COUNTRY. They weren't SS. They weren't Nazi completely. The people of WWII are more complicated than black and white sides.
i wish i could get people by me into historicals. I am think of doing 6mm or 10mm and i just bought the warmaster ancients book
I know this video has been out for a while , lol but a company called rubicon makes a great Opel blitz truck for $25 on ebay, with driver/passenger and removable canopy on back
they look really good I wish you was in England I would ask you too paint mine.
Excellent vid! Thanks for reviewing. Geoff is a prince among men in wargaming!@ The last person I dealt with of his caliber in the hobby was Professor George Gush - that was some three decades ago! :)
Nice one Jason :) I was going to buy that diorama the other day :)
that's awesome. I sub you, look at me :)
So it comes with normal colours (Germans grey) but you can paint your own camouflage on?
lovely horse general, looking forward to seeing you complete your army
I agree with mini warzone having played rugby and American football we are all different shapes and sizes
nice addition to your army
I have no problem with monetization, this is not a cheap hobby and you aren't using you're own time to make the video, good luck
sorry to hear about your separation I hope you are doing OK now
looking good, I tend to use white prima myself and like the effect
very very nice, army starting to develop
nice unboxing
nice intro
very nice, keep up the good work
really enjoyed this video, figur looks great
hi Jason, my understanding of roman uniforms, red is influenced by Hollywood, I'm sure there would be some red but there is also mention of green, blue and white, I'm no expert in this period but other you tubers speak about it a lot .
How come you stopped making videos jason?
Awesome ps AB
