Picking this Dorma DC500 oval was tougher than I expected

This lock had just the right balance of difficulty and reward which, for me, puts in in that sweet spot of locksport that keeps you coming back for more! The particular key bitting of this lock had some great highs and lows and led me round and round in circles, setting then dropping pins as I moved forward to get it picked.

Thanks. It takes a fair bit of practicing to get the feel but the lishi does work well on most of my 1100s. I do have 2 1100s that I can't open with the lishi though. Not sure why yet

In this model it is not possible to reverse the position of the tensioning arm, which the original lishi thought very well as it is very useful to be able to reverse it for doors whose locks are on the left or right side, having this possibility is efficient.

The good ole comfort lock! Nice video Dmac! I always use the deepest hook I have to get these ones opened. I like how the ergo-turner keeps the finger square with the lock for more relaxed hand feeling for the tension. Pop! pop! pop! Who needs a key when we can pick locks!!?? 🤪👍❤

What about to try openig a security lock like a Viro Panzer 7 pins?
This lishi is just for 4 pin M1 keyway Masterlocks. They do work on security pins though. I did another video on the AM5 lishi that's designed for American 1100s 👍🏻
A comb pick would probably also work

Seems to me people are making impossible locks. Not challenge.
Well, as with normal locks, there's many levels of difficulty. Of course sometimes, making too many mods can make a lock easier to pick if you lose the tight tolerances 😎👍🏻

@@Dmaclocksport yes. I started with only wiper style. When I got my hands on these (as well as some TOK) I was instantly picking locks I was finding more difficult at the time. I’ve been watching some of your older picking videos.. you are an animal. Thanks for posting.

Because i have never come across one i would change them out for other things like city rake, worm, double peak, adams right hand bypass, actuator turner…. Things like this🤷🏼. No, not found any locks that the 5 and 6 comb picks work on, but I'm sure they're out there. I might swap out some tools after playing about with it for a bit 😎👍🏻
