- Having bought and played with 6 of these padlocks (so far!), I wanted to share some picking tips to help you along if you have one that you're working on. They are great padlocks and give very clear feedback, if you know what you're feeling for, when picking them.
Thanks for this educating video, i find it very useful. Thanks for sharing, and I'm waiting for your next vid 👍
Have a nice weekend buddy 🍻🤜🤛👋
Cheers H, glad to be of service. I always have a few videos recorded and in the pipeline waiting 😎👍🏻
Wonderful tips and tricks!! Great picking!!!
😃🐾🐈⬛🐈🐾🍻👏
Cheers Chris. It took some time but I finally got these Anchor Las nailed 😎👍🏻
Excellent vid! Thanks for all the tips and tricks and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Thanks Gaz, you too fella 🙏🏻
Wonderful breakdown. I think DD locks are so interesting. I wish it didn’t require an engineering degree to make tools for them.
Yeah, it can be intimidating to make the tools. I tried a DIY tool but had limited success. The RWB tool, on the other hand, is a ready-made piece of engineering, ready to go, out the box. I love it 😎👍🏻
Thanks you, live your videos, they are very informative
Thanks 🤘🏻😎
Awesome video, thanks for sharing these tips!
😎👍🏻
I should have pick tips, tensioner and handle etc soon that will fit my Anchor Las 820-2. Got several DD picks but no combinations that work together yet that fits an Anchor Las without modification. Just waiting on some grubscrews and hex nuts and should be good to go 😀
Thanks for the tips, I'll need them soon 😀 Thanks for sharing 👍
Cheers Dave, I look forward to all the UKLS DD opens with Tallans' picks 😀👍🏻
Nice informationally video 👍🔓😁🏆
Cool 👍👍💯
I need this video 😊 Thanks mate for your work. Excellent
Thanks for watching and I hope it can help other folks get into disc detainer picking 😎👍🏻

Thx Man 🔐🔎🔓🥸👍👍👍
Great tips 👍👍 really enjoyed watching 😊
Thanks LF, such fun locks to pick 😎👍🏻
The one simple thing lock makers could do to prevent these being picked is to remove all the spacers because it would be impossible to move the pick up and down the stack without moving the picked discs if the spacers werent there, especially if the only zero cut disc is in the middle of the stack
Great Vid Dmac, very good tips 👌👌 - I'm loving these locks
Cheers Paul, they're super fun 🤘🏻😎
Brilliant video Dmac.
I don't have a pick for my one Ancor Las padlock 😂 but at some point I will be modifying a pick and tip so I can have a go at it.
Great advice all the way through 🙂👍
Cheers Roy, hope it helps you out when you get started on it 🤘🏻😎
Great video DMac👍 very well thought-out explanation of what you're doing. Not sure if I missed you explaining one thing though. When you realized you rotated a zero disc, you counter rotated the tension wheel before resetting it. Is that just to keep some of the pressure off the pick tip, or an Achor Las thing?
Excellent question and certainly something I missed explaining in the video. The Anchor Las padlock discs seem to really grab the sidebar. So much so, that to release/reset a disc and turn it clockwise, you need to spin the tensioning wheel (and so the first disc) fully counter-clockwise first. If you don't do this, the disc stays stuck on the sidebar and, if you force it, you'll risk breaking your picking tip.
Where can I find that pick? It is very nice
It is a very well made tool and great to use. It's made by RWB custom picks. You can find him on insta or LPU discord 👍🏻
There’s some good tips there Dmac,
I don’t usually zero the discs, I just pick it as is, I never understood why people do that.
Cheers Brett. Not zeroing the discs? Such a devil-may-care attitude young man 😄
I find that on these especially, zeroing the discs mean that at least 2, but usually more, discs will be in their gate due to zero cuts. I have a couple that have 5 zero cut discs.
Less work to do! 🤘🏻😎

😂Good answer but I knew you were going to say that,😆
There’s just as much odds for some discs to being at the opposite of zero, I’ve got some Abloys like that too,
Oh you have a 5 zero disc one, you lucky thing, that one would be a breeze to pick,
I just did a yale DD lock with all zero discs except 2, I still didn’t zero the discs & it picked super quick,
I think most people zero the discs before picking because they’ve heard other CZcamsrs say it so they think that is how you should do it , that’s understandable I suppose, it only takes someone who has masses of followers to say something like that & it sticks, but usually they’ve done their research & learnt it from someone else,
Those people usually aren’t experts in DD locks so they just repeat whet they learnt whilst learning.
I put it to you m’lord that it’s miss information 😆.
I didn’t know you replied to my comment & found it by chance, CZcams is crap at its job these days & don’t notify me of comments but they do notify me of hearted comments,
So maybe it might be a good idea to heart every comment, & especially just before replying, I automatically heart & like every comment anyway because I appreciate people taking the time to like & make a comment & not only that, if you only heart some & not others, the ones you don’t heart might feel you didn’t like their comment & may not comment again, just saying.
