My new verizon is terrible can't play mw3, too much lag
Hi I got my laptop listening as a server on port 5201. But how do I stop it now?
Ctrl + c or just close the command prompt!
@@Behfor Ahh thank you. Thought it was more complicated than that. May I ask you another novice question: When testing my LAN speed for my IPad or iPhone back to Laptop, I get super slow speeds (60 Mbits/sec) compared to WAN speeds (950 MB/sec). Any ideas why?
Can you make a video explaining what is VPN please, like you did for the Port Forwarding video. Great content! Subscribed

Do I have to plug in power to all 4 cameras so it will work
No you can plug in as many as you like and don't have to use all of them. Thanks.

I would like to get advise from you. My current cable internet plan is 150M download speed/30M upload speed plan and is using Asus RT AC66U B1 router ( I think it is wifi 4). Should I upgrade to a wifi 6 Asus router? If yes, what is your recommendation? Thanks for quick reply.
very short! straight to the point! very detailed and informative! great vid!
Glad you liked it, thanks!
Are these sim card routers?
No, they don't directly take SIM cards, but with Asus routers that have a dual WAN feature and a USB port, you should be able to connect an Android phone or a 4G/5G modem to the USB port.
@@Behfor thank you! I'm looking for something to replace my expensive home internet that I can use either a prepaid or monthly simcard. The RUTM50 5G seems like a good choice from what I've learned from your video... But I'll look further into the specs to get exactly what I need
Good comparison video. But now I have a question: it is the end devices that choose which network to connect, and all devices we use today will remain connected to the same network until it's signal is completely lost. This applies to windows, Android and ios. How do you accomplish: if the signal on this ssid is lower than x db, then scan networks and and connect if the other known network is x db better than the current one? I had one app on android that managed to do this: SWifi and it worked perfectly until.. It did not anymore and it is no longer developed. Does mesh system have any advantage at this point (somehow, I don't know)? I currently have two access points and transition between them just sucks. Using the same ssid or different ssid won't change this behaviour, as the devices still will remain connected to the current one until signal is completely lost. Edit: smartwifiselector seems to do the job for android
#5 when you move to bigger house.
Fantastic explanation. this just tied it all together for me. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Hi! Why did you skip Enable Load balancing option? Not good.
Someone I know had an "expert" install a new router with "Smart Connect" and didn't ask what she preferred. She said he is good, I told her that he is a moron. Now she has a new smart lock and a separate WiFi gateway that she cannot get to work because the lock and gateway access the 2.4 and to set it up, she needs to be on the 2.4 band but her laptop and smart phone access only the 5g. Now I am trying to talk her through the change to disable Moron Connect over the phone and she is all confused...Smart Connect is for Stupid People
Use a solution that offers both
Wait so do I need an Asus router to use this?
No
@@Behfor oh okay, I can just hook up one of these to my modem?
I just finally bit the bullet and bought the AX88U Pro to help the AX88U, I am still doing Asus AI Mesh with Merlin software and put the AC68U in the master bedroom
Nice video. Here is my problem. My Aimesh Router is AX88U and Node is AC88U. I want to connect the Node that is AC88U on ethernet but the WAN port of AC88U is faulty. Is there a way I can connect Lan port of AX88U with Lan port of AC88U and form a mesh?
Great advice👍🏻
Glad you liked it 👍🏻
You only need 1 key sign ... Cursing because things take forever to get done 😂

I know my new phone has a faster Wi-Fi speed than our router supports, my father says we need a new router, my phone is faster on mobile data than Wi-Fi
Yes, if the router is very old, the difference in speed becomes more noticeable. Thanks!
@@Behfor yeah my dad says it’s our Internet provider and the bill keeps going up too
What you failed to point out is hardwired into the router. ALWAYS faster than WiFi. But, it requires you to run an Ethernet cable wire to the device. Sometimes more difficult. Other times, not so much. Ethernet cable to another access point is relatively cheap. Maybe you can talk about Elon Musk StarLink. Internet plans starting at $120/mo. Maybe connect from ANYWHERE? Don’t be tethered to your home. And another video on what you really need. Streamed video buffer. Maybe gamming you need faster internet. What justifies a new wifi or modem?
You should do a video, seems like you know a thing or two. What brand router and model would be perfect for COD MW3 ?
A timely video video for me
Great 😃
Thanks
You're welcome!
Next time I have to overhaul my home network, I'll just buy Access Point and make DiY router... mid-range Asus router becomes so expensive that it might make sense if I just make my own router and simply use my old Asus router as access point. I still need to learn about the details... but I'll see it as a new learning experience... for better or worse XD
That's a great idea and definitely better than using a single wireless router 🙂
Thank you for making helpful videos
Glad you like them!
Hi Behfor, would you do a video on vlans on the Asus Pro version? And how can it be used to segregate IoT and security cameras.
Yes, that's on my list 👍
Thanks Behfor. More good info. It seems that too many manufacturers don't support their routers very well or very long.
You're very welcome and thanks!
I’ve got ax86u pro overall it’s a good router but I struggle with coverage in my last room in the apartment. U think be550 would make a difference? I don’t know if my internet provider is crappy or this router can’t manage my 1gbit internet fiber
I have and only pay $70 bucks. Comcast wants $110 for unlimited internet. For the SAME SPEED. I Canceled Comcrap for ever
One thing I face with this router is that it does overheat pretty often. and if it is used in a hot environment, upstairs in the summertime, it may exhibit continuous reboots. I just bought a small usb fan and looking to try this out to help cool the router.
Hi, got a 2 floor house. A large household family consisting 7ppl, plenty of devices connected. (80+). I am struggling to decide which Asus router should I get? Should I get the quad and or tri and router ?I prefer Asus as that what I am using, but i am on old wifi 5 technology. Issue I am facing right now is we r heavily reliance on wifi for 80+ decide and wireless dead spot zone. Your channel is awesome for newbie to technology like me
60 GHz interfers with oxygen molecules. Killer frequency.
And I still have WiFi 4💀💀💀💀

The Asus BE98 Pro is just too expensive for me to justify. NetGear are so hit and miss, having had to return two Nighthawk routers to BestBuy because of a known firmware issue that bricked the routers after a successful update. NetGear support offered to RMA them for one with a slightly newer revision of the hardware to solve the issue but they should have recalled the original hardware version instead of wasting customers time. Personally, I prefer external antennas because they can be pointed, at least somewhat, in the direction needed. Asus has a great GUI and even better extended life support through community based firmware, like Merlin.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
That was excellent explanation. You have new Follower👌
Glad to hear you liked it. Thanks 👍🏻
Hello, thanks for the great video, just wondering if it is safe to use wiregaurd to connect my home internet and use ftp to access a hard disk connected to my modem at home?
Yes, it should be fine, the VPN makes it secure. Thanks.
@@Behfor thanks for your prompt reply.
@@Galqxyphone2024 My pleasure !
@@Behfor is it possible to make a video related to DNS setting of the Asus router? Thanks!
As many have alread noted, this was/is a great video.. Many good pieces of information that most don't even think about. I have the RT-AX86S which is almost identical to the 86U. I'm trying to find out if there is a way to connect the WAN/Internet connection through a WIFI connection (in this case from Starlink) instead of using Ethernet. It whould be soooooo much easier to use WIFI instead of running a very long, and difficult, Ethernet CAT 6 cable. Finally, and I'm sure others are wondering, how can one tell the OS of their 86U/S. I thought I was using ASUSWRT but I think it is Merlin, I just don't know how to tell. Thank you in advance should you decide to respond.
I just set up OpenVPN server on an RT-AX86u Pro, but cannot ping/RDP into any of my desktops. What is the solution to this? I am able to connect, access my NAS, etc.
I would do a packet capture on the desktop in question while pinging it through a VPN connection. If I see ping requests but there are no replies, this tells me that the desktop itself is blocking them. It's most likely the firewall blocking requests from other network addresses.
TP-Link is ass
Quick question if the router is connected to the 6ghz band does it still require the radio from the router for 5ghz on the mesh or does it use its own? Thankyou.
I need a powerful one reaching across the house. Going through walls upstairs to get to my room.
Very nicely done. I'm thinking it's time to make the move from Netgear to Asus, just for this feature. Thank you!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Im intrested in your wibfi
