Now, for some reason I am terrified of windmills because the huge blades leave a lot to the imagination. The propellers on these things are fucking terrifying to look at.

A small town near by has a little airport that the navy does a lot of helecopter training out of. Been hearing and seeing helicopters fly over all my life. In the past 10 years id say they started flying Ospreys too. I havent got to see them myself but ive seen them on the runway and my dad who works for the town has some cool videos. Lately in the tiny town i live in, these impressive aircraft have been flying over at night circling the neighborhood. Ive been so confused, is it a plane? Is it a helecopter?? Now i understand having watched videos that yes. Ive been hearing THE plane helecopter itself😂😂

I'll be honest, I kind of miss this aircraft... last I've flown it was after the full release of X-Plane 11, then things started going wrong and I sadly had to abandon it after one last flight.

Before about 10 days ago, I had never seen an Osprey live and in person. But while climbing Mount Conness in Yosemite, I was treated to the best flyby I could possibly ever see. The Osprey was coming right toward me at eye level as it crossed over the Tioga Crest. It then made a sharp turn to Glacier Canyon on Mount Dana before making another turn and flying rather low over Dana Plateau before heading back east toward Pumice Valley. I tried shooting video. But unfortunately, my iPhone was set on ‘photo’. All I have is a still of the Osprey crossing Tioga Crest and then another after it had passed Dana Plateau.

There are two sounds that I hear from this engine. I hear a high-pitched whine, and also a "buzzsaw" sound. The buzzsaw sound is likely caused by the spinning fanblades breaking the sound barrier and creating rapid sonic booms that blend into the buzzsaw effect. But what causes the high-pitched whine?

As an active American Airlines employee for 34 years, I must admit, this was our potent bas azz jet we ever purchased. The power of these RB211 engines can't be compared, this was our BEST product to load and unload and will.take off with maximum load with short runway. She is truly missed...
