Lovely. Just wish it was called something else. This glorification of war has to stop. War is a racket. Its usually unnecessarily and foist upon us, its empire protection, It's slaughter of the working classes and the brave lads who get caught up in it at the behest of the oligarchy who are ALWAYS prepared to fight to the last drop of somebody elses blood Those poor souls should be pitied not glorified. I weep for them. Nice piece though.
Thank you for the kind words. You're not entirely wrong about this. Possibly not entirely right either, but I'm not going to argue about it. Regardless, this is not glorifying war. I choose to honor those who (with or without a choice) did and do what they thought was right and stood by those they loved. That is what the piece celebrates: the best of humanity.

@@MrMassivefavour, fair enough. I understand having convictions and even admire those who are adamant and sincere in them (sometimes even when I don't agree at all). As it relates to my work, while I don't always succeed, I try to stay mostly apolitical and avoid contentious issues. I learned that lesson playing a political event (for "the other guys") when I was young. I'm but a bard singing for my ale.

Of course, this is being played on a cornet which results in a much smoother and more appropriate sound.
This is such a high pitch for a Hallelujah chorus arrangement, set in E major scale with the concert pitch of D. Most of us preferred this arrangement to be played in the C major scale with a concert pitch of Bb
Someday, I may do a lower version. This is the correct key...how Handel himself wrote it. And while more difficult for brass players, this has a real brilliance you cannot get in the key of Bb.
