STANLEY "Voluntary" (for Two Trumpets with Organ)

I hope you enjoy this performance of Stanley’s “Voluntary No. 5,” Opus 6. The piece was originally for just organ, but it’s become a commonly performed item, as many voluntaries, with trumpet. Sheet music is available at:

This is my first time with this very reasonably priced John Packer rotary valve piccolo, and I must say that it is a surprisingly good instrument for the price. Intonation is good, construction is solid, and it plays nicely. The only downside is that it seems to lack a little bit of the depth of tone that some top-tier piccolos I have played possessed-in particular in the lower register. Overall, a very good instrument (especially for the cost!).
