Thanks for the video! I am a Kiwi living in Denmark with my Danish partner and have been living in Copenhagen since March 2020 (yes, that March). My partner comes from Fyn and we have always planned on heading back once her studies had finished. We find ourselves in a similar position as you were at the time you moved. Neither of us have been big city people and we love quiet open spaces and things being less busy. I have always enjoyed going to Fyn to we are very excited to now be making plans to move over this year. We also want out kids (yet to have) to grow up outside of a city to gain more experiences and be closer with my partners wider family (who we enjoy the company of). Since I am so far from my family in New Zealand, it doesn't make sense to not be closer to hers so that has been a driving force to move to Fyn also. Again, thanks for your content and maybe our paths will cross.

Most places in Denmark the tapwater will be better than anything bought in a bottle! Some places it has a lot of chalk (hard) which means it is advisable to put softener in during washing in a machine, for less use of soap. In nearby Norway you may be nearly unable to wash off soap during a bath, from the very soft water.

Thanks for this video! I'm French, have been living and working in Denmark for over a year, first son was born in Norway, and now expecting second child soon. I just wanted to specify that actually the paid parental leave in Denmark is really bad if your employer does not top-up the maternity unemployment benefits, which sadly is my case. Employers do not legally have to pay you your full salary, but most do because they are unionised and have an agreement with union and employee. My employer doesn't have this. So despite having leave for a long period of time, I will only get governmental pay, which means a 50% pay cut in my salary. It's really hard to live in Denmark with such low salary all of sudden!

I am proud of the danish recycling system in Denmark. I recycle: 1. Plastic 2. Paper 3. Bottles. 4. Glass 5. Organic. I do not buy plastic bags for my groceries. I try to stay clear of toxic cleaners in my home. I am mindful of how much water I need for different things. I appreciate the collective transportation we have and the bike cycling infrastructure we have. We try to go forth holistic on the green movement. I also go for eco-friendly clothes. I defiantly support an eco-friendly minded government. But we can differently do better! The packaging on groceries is horrific....toooo much plastic! When you are conditions to eco-friendly behaviour it just becomes second nature

So in terms of applying for a visa to work, presumably you need a job first before you can apply for a permit? But are they flexible on start dates etc if you're moving as a foreign national? How do they expect you to find a job before you move? If anyone can help that would be great!

You can call 1813 if you have a medical problem outside doctors opening hours. 112 is for emergency's, but 1813 you get a doktor or a nurse Who will listen and evaluate your problem. If they think it sounds serious they will call an ambulance for you.

Danes do small talk. But its basically just small sentences or even just words. A nod and a smile. And excuse me or an you can go in front of me. Something like that. You don't converse as such but its completely fine to use small sentences
