I’m Deano and I like to lift weights in an old school blood and guts way following the style of Dorian Yates. I like to let my lifting show the level of intensity I bring and will take you on the journey in my own gym in my back garden.

Week 3 of the 18 week shred plan
Back has always been a good body part for me to build and gain strength in. I changed up my position in dumbbell rows as I was feeling pressure in my waste when using a bench. The dumbbell today felt really light and I connected well with my lat.
I walked at 6.30 am fasted for an hour and a half and a post workout walk roughly an hour and my step count came to 20 thousand today.
I was fasted last week at 15 stone 9, 219lbs so I’ll aim for a pound drop for Friday morning.

At what time do you tend to workout?
I’ll workout in the morning before work. Start at 9am and on days off I’ll relax my time a bit. As long as I get it done sharp 💪

You could either do push pull legs or an upper lower arms approach. If trying to gain weight and not fussed about your calories my approach when I was in my 20s was milk and nesquick. You’ll gain weight using that but can be bad weight
I worked out with this split until it broke me. Looking good. If you're still feeling tired, stay on the deload/recovery zone. Nothing wrong with making sure you properly recover. That's what always gets me.
Correct brother!! Planning a deload recovery week for week 7 so that’s 6 weeks of hard training behind me while building up on this new program. I think I’ve kept muscle while leaning out.

How do you like that Body Solid hack squat / leg press combo? I’ve been considering getting that exact machine. Seems better built than the RitFit and Titan ones.
I like it a lot actually. Was nervous when buying it originally as I just wasn’t sure. I have it set up to the way I like it and if I’m honest it’s heavy as well. It runs pretty smooth and the hack squat is amazing as well. It’s all I use for my legs really !💪

I have a Powertec machine and just learned that i can do back pulls with the arm attachment, and wondered how i could do low row pulleys. Use part of a pallet. Thats awesome!

I like the long curl bar. I’m thinking about buying a piece similar to your lever press but it doesn’t have the extension cable on the back. I have that in my rack already. Is the shoulder and chest press pretty smooth with that piece?
Hey, you did a solid workout on your channel. The powertec is as smooth as it gets and it’s good to press on. I like it best on the incline and shoulder press. I can’t flat press on it as the angle just doesn’t suit me and I keep sliding out the machine.
Nice skull crashers; i do them at the same angle.
I just did skulls for the first time at the angel as my left elbow is a trouble maker. I liked it and less pain. I’ll keep it in 💪
Good workout, what's temperature been like where you are, and in your gym. I only lift baby weights now, but I was still drenched after shortish workout in my garage, 28/29 degrees 👍
West coast of Scotland has been chilly this June. Most mornings it’s cool but it’s unusually cold here as June is normally our best weather. No Sunbathing either 🤣

Not really. Kinda helps ms on bracing my core. Took me years to get to grips with that before my strength shot up. It does get better just practice

Hey man, I’ve not used a commercial lat pull-down in a number of years. If I say so I would say I never felt any differences to it what so ever. Probably prefer it as well.
