The Wild Hunt | Ghost Riders in the Night
Deadly omens and chilling ghost stories are found worldwide, but few are as epic in scale as the Wild Hunt! As the story goes, every so often a horde of supernatural hunters on horseback, accompanied by baying hounds, rides through the countryside and through the very skies. Some say that they are gods, others ghosts of the undead, or some other supernatural creatures, lead by any number of folkloric figures, from the Norse god Odin, to the Welsh hero Gwydion, to King Arthur himself. Regardless of who the hunters are, to see them means catastrophe or even death. Those who see the Wild Hunt are even at risk of being spirited away to the underworld!

The wild hunt remind me of Ring Wraths from Lord of the Rings. Maybe Tolkien was inspired by these figures. Also not gonna lie I thought the Wild Hunt was to bring judgement based on how they come in droves like a army.

This oddly reminds me of Hyakkiyakou (百鬼夜行), a Japanese myth of parades in the night held by all manners or apparitions and yokai up to a hundred strong. Obviously, things don't usually go to well for humans who get caught up in it.
