- Among the most worshipped and iconic figures of Hinduism is Ganesha, or Ganesh. Instantly recognized by his elephant head and multiple arms, Ganesha was the son of Parvati and Shiva, regarded as the god of new beginnings and good luck. He is the remover of obstacles both physical and spiritual, a patron to both creative and inquisitive minds, and fiercely loyal and protective of those that he loves.

This is so amusing. I’m pleased that you brought Ganesha honor and devotion.
Homer: Hey, Ganesha, want a peanut ?
Apu: (Annoyed) Please do not offer my god a peanut.
Ganesha: "Oh, just because I have the head of an elephant, you presume I love peanuts?"
Homer:"Uhhh...do you?"
Ganesha: "OF COURSE I DO!"
"...Through the Looking Glass. That poem, 'The Walrus and the Carpenter,' is an indictment of organized religion. The Walrus, with his girth and good nature, he obviously represents either Buddha or with his tusks, the Hindu elephant god, Lord Ganesha. That takes care of your Eastern religions." -Loki (from "Dogma," 1999 film)
That was the first time (that I can remember) ever hearing of Lord Ganesha, but it was not until watching this video that I actually learned anything about the deity. So, thanks for the new info. 😊
Asia as whole has (in my opinion anyway) some of the most underrated mythology stories ever.
His newly bestowed head is fitting. Elephants symbolize wisdom & intelligence 🐘
Can you do the tragedy of Rama and Sita while you’re at it?
For the next Hindu deity you should do Shiva
Exquisite video, thanks MU.😘✌️💋🔥🥂💜🌍🌌
Great intro and great video. Thank you for covering my favorite Hindu god.
Next make a video on Lord Vishnu, one of the gods of the Hindu Trinity who is titled as the preserver. He who takes avatars on Earth to destroy and fight evil and brings righteousness and peace to the world
Thanks for another great episode, MU!
Thank you for the video 👍🏻 I appreciate it
Please more gods of Olympus & famous magical creatures.
Also cool to see when you cover Hindu mythology!
Another fascinating video concerning a pantheon that’s a bit on the new side to me. No wonder I’m a subscriber.
I think the broken tusk also symbolizes the fact that there's no such thing as a perfect God by having it broken it shows that he's not perfect.
The story about the feast definitely sounds familiar. The rich get nowhere by flaunting their wealth, and a humble gift offered sincerely is what's actually called for. It's basically the same as the Biblical story about the poor woman's tiny offering being worth more to God than the piles of money thrown around by wealthy men. Naturally, the Hindu version is a little more colorful, but the idea is the same.
Wow the parallel are uncanny. If you weren't discussing about the God Ganesha I would think you were discussing about me.😕
That mythology can be good.
Hinduism
I just had Ganesh boss fight flashbacks from persona 5 strikers
Side question: does anyone know why Hindu gods are so regularly depicted as blue skin?
Various colors have different meanings in Hindu culture, but blue often displays a more cool and tranquil nature, and possibly even reflect the deities' deep association with water and the sky and other deep concepts beyond human understanding!
Please make a video talking about the origins of clowns.
Clowns aren't mythological in origin!
@@MythologyUnleashed how about the myths surrounding Mars?
Be nice his mythology stuff is not clown stuff.
@@MythologyUnleashedWell... There are some deep cultural and even mystical aspects. The Ancient Greeks had clowns.
Name that Anime: “I am Ganesha!”
Danmachi, lol
@@alexanderchronos8694DING DING DING! We have a Winner!
