I am enjoying this series so, so much! I'm very new to tarot myself, but this series can benefit readers at any knowledge level. Thanks for starting this wonderful study!

I would love to chat about a card but I have really bad body dysmorphia. maybe I'll muster myself before you finish 78 lol.

I love the Hierophant in the tarot, however I always think of it when it comes up as a teachable moment and either we are the teacher in that moment or the student. It could be based on traditions as well that have been long held in the family or community or society and may or may not have a religious and or spiritual leaning. I do think those teachers can come in many different forms such as a parent, child, friend, enemy, school teacher, yoga teacher, or absolutely anybody because honestly what makes someone wise is lived experience, and we all experience differently and can learn from each other, but we need to be teachable for that to happen. Great discussion. I find that so interesting about the Hierophant being connected with the Keeper of the Akashic Records, because truly all experiences are held there, so I love that concept greatly!

Glad to hear a discussion about the modern negative reaction to the Hierophant, like the Emperor, because the majors do touch on our traumas. For the non-religious, this card can represent the traditions of our communities and families and how they are passed down to us and how they affect us. If you feel like doing something that is not socially acceptable then the Hierophant invites you to explore how and why (or why not). Great conversation about modern spiritual practices as reflected in this major. Thanks again!

Great discussion! Afton, I hope you go ahead and start your CZcams channel because I’m not religious and I’ve been using divination and meditation to strengthen my spirituality. I love your take on the Hierophant as the “gatekeeper” of all knowledge. I can see this as referring to the Soul Contract (and more so the Akashic Records). Benny, I love applying this to the hierarchy/structure in the mundane -everyday life of the family, work, etc.! In Ana Tourian’s Tarot of the Abyss it’s title The Wise One. The imagery is very welcoming and the Wise One is sitting on the same level as the 2 younger/less wise figures. He is not talking down to then from a place of authority as in traditional RWS, he’s engaging them on their level and using this opportunity to pass along the wisdom and traditions that were passed on to him. The emperor is one of my favorites too. My dad has always a big tall man, strong force of personality, wise from experience, and the boss when he needed to be, but always fair. Super funny and sweet in personality .Was a sergeant in the Air Force for many years during the 70s, unfortunately fought in Vietnam, then worked up to upper management in his career when i was growing up. I always think of my dad as emperor card. I know that a lot of people in the tarot community currently dislike strong men but in my opinion we need that balance. My mom and dad where the perfect balance in the household. Great example for us kids.They were together 50+ years. all three of us kids have been with our spouses for over 25 years because we were raised watching such a stellar balanced and kind relationship. Empress and Emperor.. both energies are so important for balance 🌻🌻

I love the Emperor Card. This is a great series. I love the Light Seers Emperor because he is just a regular man playing a game of chess and I feel like the Emperor has to know what steps to take many many moves ahead. He is a master chess player. He brings order to chaos and sometimes he has to make hard choices for the betterment of his people. The shadow is that people do not always understand the hard choices that he has had to make but he is the Ultimate 4 in the deck with his foundational structure. He is also like Atlas holding up the Earth. I loved that story of King Solomon. Brilliant! 😍

Hi to 2 of my favorite tarot people! I loved the insights shared on the emperor…it can be such a difficult archetype for me to see in a positive light so I’m glad to get a different perspective on it!

Glad to hear the Emperors being interpreted in a positive light and not just the negative associations we moderns have with authority. I think other decks portray the emperor in a less rigid setting, allowing him to be a father as well as a ruler. Nice comments about the ankh! Great food for thought.

Aaahhh Benny, I'm so excited for you! This is my favourite deck, I have two copies! But I didn't know that there was a special edition, neither of my copies are signed/numbered and they don't have the alternate cards or the seal on the front of the box. I think the edition you have is the original Kickstarter. I have a feeling that you just put this deck back on my unicorn list LOL.

I had to pause to say that road names are DEFINITELY better than telling me literal directions.
