    Hello Lin! My great admiration for all your success in your rose cuttings especially the Jubilee Celebration, looks cool with the standard tree form. It seems like you had a nice weather there, is it not very hot? My rose flowers are becoming smaller in size, high temperatures at the moment here. That was a lovely colour of Munstead Wood. Lovely to see your roses!😍

    Even though I'm a David Austin fan, I just got Summer Romance today and put it in a pot bc I have had good success with Kordes so far. I have an Earth Angel I bought 2 months ago that is doing amazing in a pot with perfect shaped blooms. I put another Earth Angel in the ground this spring, but it has struggled giving me good blooms even though it's healthy overall. Raspberry cupcake is a super healthy, vigorous, fragrant rose. I would highly recommend it bc it produces.

    Lovely walk around your garden rose wife 😊. Ancient mariner I think has slightly better flowers if anything. And as you say more fragrant, I’m waiting on mine putting on some growth but it’s in a good spot. Ok now you’re showing off with your distant drums oh and PCDM! Yeah very jealous I am! But a lovely walk around :)

    Hi Lin! Thanks for doing that side-by-side comparison - I had suspected that they would look very similar, and they certainly do. but it's reassuring to know that you think I opted for the better rose - just imagine if I had got it wrong and had to dig up my 5 Ancient Mariners to replace them! Those various cuttings look well established - when did you take them? That Chandos Beauty at the end is indeed a beauty, especially in that light - mine, new this year, lost its head weeks ago just as it was about to flower due to my clumsiness and I am still waiting for it to bloom. As usual, thank you for an enjoyable and informative video.

    • @Lin_Greenfinger
      @Lin_Greenfinger Před 5 dny

      Hi Nik. I do think Ancient Mariner is underrated. Olivia steals the attention with the family name. I took the cuttings about 1.5 years ago, some last autumn. I just can’t resist when I prune.Then I end up with far too many 😅

    • @nikkonch
      @nikkonch Před 4 dny

      @@Lin_Greenfinger Thanks Lin. I have only ever taken autumn cuttings until this year - my recent summer cuttings look fine above ground, but it's the roots which are important, isn't it? I do it for the fun of it and enjoy doing it, but as you say you do end up with a lot of roses you don't need.

    Brilliant professional-looking video Lin, one gorgeous rose after another all captured in gorgeous pin-sharp close-ups! Well done! You've made me want to buy a lot of those roses. Lots of other beautiful colourful plants too, but my heart belongs to the roses.

      Thanks Nik. Ancient Mariner was launched a year later than Olivia, I think Olivia receives more attention but Ancient Mariner is a better rose. Both blooms remarkably similar yet AC don’t nod and is stronger in growth. Good idea for next video to compare the two roses.

Madame Anisette, Earth Angel, Royal Parfuma and Fruity Parfuma had remarkable first flush in my garden. Don’t worry about Royal Parfuma she will grow robust and big. Lovely to hear you mentioning the names in German, it’s always a challenge for me especially the French names. How’s your project going? I only have Earth Angel. I have had it since 2018, and this is the first year it had full size normal blooms. I moved it from its first location because I thought it was getting to much sun and only got 12 inches high in 3 years. Then I moved it to a shadier location where it got about 18 inches high and tried to die. I shoveled it up this year and stuck it in a small pot. I stuck it next to the cherry tree and didn't expect it to make it. Now it has multiple blooms, is putting on growth, and has given me 2 beautiful roses. I found out that in our arid habitat, it likes to have a constantly damp pot. Now, I have to figure out how to over winter it in the pot. It does have a lovely fragrance and blooms if you can make it happy.

    Lovely roses, which you describe brilliantly. I think I like all of them, and fragrant too! Not sure which my favourite is either - so many factors to consider - colour, shape and scent of course. The descriptions of the scents go over my head - I've got no idea what patchouli, lychee and champagne even smell like - does champagne have a scent? - and they claim some roses have a scent of rose? Siamese roses, no, never seen that before - perhaps you could breed a new type of rose from that? For anyone looking to enter the Parfuma world you have given them a very clear helpful overview.

      @@Jay_JayI watched your video ( again 😊) and yes The Anniversary rose is beautiful. I look forward to seeing your bloom. But I still want the one my brother has , one with ruffled petals and plum undertones.

    Hi Lin, I can second that. The rose in question is a Line Renaud/sweet parfum de provence, I think Peter Beales sells it under another name still. Definitely a Meilland rose. Thanks for the tour.

    Good morning Lin, the rose in question looks like my Line Renaud aka Elbflorenze in Germany. It has a very strong sweet lemon scent from Meilland. One on my oldest standard rose in the garden, it’s already 13 years. Thanks for the tour, looking forward to see the changes in your garden. 🌹😍

      Thanks Gemma for confirming. I have this rose already and a bit confused why mine don’t have the ruffled petals and the plum tones.

    Rose wife what was that sound, did you fart in the opening seconds? 😂😂. Now let me enjoy the video :)

      Roses looking lovely Lin. Your new Parfuma collection looking better than mine. My raspberry cupcake I had to chop right back. Tiny tiny growth came from those chunky stems. The building work your having done don’t put down too much concrete that’s my advice:) your timeless charisma will look fab I’m sure.

      Caught on camera 😂😱 I was actually standing amidst so much pots and stuff, everything was pushed out of the way. I don’t know what it was. Too busy making my video. Anyway, loud farts aren’t smelly. It’s the silent ones that are deadly!

      I hope your Raspberry parfuma grows well. It’s a gorgeous variety. Btw, do you recognize the flower that is supposedly De-lish/ Sweet Parfum de Provence? It’s my brother’s plant from Eastcroft. I have this rose from another seller but it’s different. I want to get whatever variety that my brother has in the video.

      @@Lin_Greenfinger I think it’s Dee-Lish, I could be wrong. At least it looks the same as mine. First flower or two can go large and frilly like that. That’s all I’ve seen from mine. Now excuse me whilst I compile a poll on my channel. The sound you hear as the camera started to roll, was it A. A fart B. Amazonian croaking frog. :)
