Wet brush layering processes to build depth and realism
Dry brushing weathered techniques
Creating washes using MLG Wash Medium
Applying a matte finish top coat for added protection
Medea NuWorlds Paint is a multi-surface, water-based acrylic urethane that is suitable for both airbrush and hand painting. The line consists of Zenith and Impenetrable colors, which are direct-to-mini (DTM), opaque colors that provide amazing coverage in 1-2 coats. NuWorlds' transparent colors contain 6-7 heavily saturated pigments per color, which add incredible depth using very few layers. Try Mirrored Steel and Gauntlet Gold for fast, brilliant true metallic metal (TMM) effects. Add easy weathering effects with MLG Wash Medium mixed with any NuWorlds Paint color. The Medea NuWorlds Paint system requires less prep, less bottles and less steps to achieve intricate paint jobs.

    • @iwatamedea1

      Nozzles are delicate little pieces made of various metal alloys. The softer metals create optimal metal to metal seals and are delicate by nature. Meaning, they are subject to wear and tear under normal usage conditions. This is increasingly so when frequent and/ or aggressive cleaning practices are employed. So, it happens. We recommend not over tightening (a common mistake) when placing a new nozzle. Depending on frequency of use and cleaning practices, it is normal to replace a nozzle. Some people experience broken nozzles frequently, others go for years without a replacement. It really depends on all all the variables. We recommend having a spare on hand.

    • @iwatamedea1
      @iwatamedea1 Před 3 měsíci

      We don't think artists must choose one or the other. Templates have their purposes, like masking and projecting. They can be useful tools to establish proportions of a piece. Other stencils may be used to establish texture and are commonly seen as time savers in certain settings or for specific types of work. Stencils don't paint it for you. In our view, every piece will also require plenty of freehand spraying.

    You actually don't need to take the lid off to replace the intake filters. You can pop off the filters by prying them off from the side with a screw driver. They are on there tight! Also, the screws on the lid are cheaply made and strip easily so be warned!

    • @iwatamedea1
      @iwatamedea1 Před 5 měsíci

      This sounds like a paint / cleaner issue. Couple of things to think about...Some paints are more difficult to clean out of airbrushes than others. What type / formula of paint are you using? Secondly, the cleaning fluid that you use must be suitable at breaking down the specific paint that you are using. If you are using multiple formulas, these may not be compatible or you may need more that one cleaning solvent. (Ask the paint manufacturer). If you are using craft paint instead of airbrush paint, those will be very difficult to clean (the particles are too large) and will cause a lot of clogs. If you are using thinners, are you using the manufacturer recommended thinning agent? Give these variables some thought as this is likely a paint issue, not an airbrush issue

      Airbrush nozzles are made from soft metals so that they form a tight seal that creates the performance needed. Nozzles are considered a wear and tear part like the tires on a car. As a normal expectation, they may need to be replaced from time to time and most people keep a few on hand

    I just bought one of these today. Nice video, but you held your hand over the label n the bottle so we can’t see if it’s cleaner or restorer. On some CZcams channels it says not to run some cleaners through the airbrush. Nowhere that I can find on your 5618 cleaner bottle nor the paperwork that came with the CS are there instructions on which product to use when, other than restorer can remove dried paint. Some CZcams channels say to only run water through to clean. I’m confused.

    • @iwatamedea1
      @iwatamedea1 Před 11 měsíci

      @chuckhepler4157 What cleaner to use is confusing because there is no one-size-fits-all answer. The proper cleaning solvent to use is totally dependent upon what paints / spray materials you are using. Paint manufacturers know what breaks down their formulas the best, so you will save yourself a lot of trouble if you go with their recommendations on that. The cleaner used in the video is Medea (brand) Airbrush Cleaner, which is very effective with most water based acrylics. Available at a host of retail locations and Amazon. Createx Colors makes 4008 Restorer (breaks down dried Createx) and 5618 Airbrush Cleaner. Both of these are very effective with their paint lines. The best cleaner for alcohol based inks is 99% Isopropyl alcohol and solvent based paints require harsher solvents...and so on...CZcams is loaded with good information and misinformation. No matter what you hear, never immerse an entire airbrush in cleaning solvent. Only the parts that come in contact with paint should be cleaned with solvents. Dry areas should remain dry. Fully soaking airbrushes will shorten their life span over time. Habits that make a difference: As soon as you are done spraying, flush the brush with cleaning solvent. (Avoid the mess by trying not to let a bunch of paint dry inside in the first place). Always empty the paint cup and clean it with a brush before pulling the needle out. Then finish cleaning. I hope this has been helpful. You can find more information and download an instructional pdf here: www.iwata-airbrush.com/airbrush-cleaning.html
