The noise from those disc brakes is like a cats claws scrapping through metal😣 Never in my life have I seen riders all sitting in the saddle at a spirit finish 🤔

Real men, real bike, real racing. Not soy boys riding sloping bar, mountain bike type racing bikes with stupid looking disc brakes only suitable for motorbikes.

Everyone was irish and my country wasn't a whore house yet.

Great to look back at all the old faces (some no longer with us sadly) when we were young faces though I didn't ride the track championships that year. Some of the lads are still racing with the vets. Who'd have guessed what poor Emma O'Reilly would be put through by a certain Mr. Armstrong a few years later?

What type of bike did you have and the weight

I remember paddy Sullivan from all these races in the 80/90s. Sad to see so many of them gone. You still can’t beat the park for racing around. Still remember doing the park gallups an hour of racing he’ll, but great at the same time...although we didn’t have a “drop of whiskey” fair play to the camera man for picking that up. Good video brings back memories.

What an outstanding historical piece of footage of this race! Had many of the current greats of Irish Cycling at the time: The legends, Paddy Flanagan, Sean Lally, Pat McQuaid, Mick Nulty, the current top riders of the day,Tony Lally, John Short, and the future Stars , Martin Early and Paul Kimmage , with Mick McKenna driving the break on his 25inch Holdsworth, and the greatest and much respected father figure of cycling, JJ doing the interviews at the finish! Classic!!!
