  • Here's some old video I found on a VHS tape of Irish road racing from the early season in 1994. I've edited it down to 18 minutes. The main race is the Traders Cup in Dundalk, a popular handy-capped race with riders entering from all over Ireland. It usually does 7 laps of a triangular circuit finishing in the outskirts of the town.
The second race is Saturday race which is a round of the Mid Eastern Region (MER) league this started in Leixlip, went out around Co. Kildare and finished in Celbridge. There is not much of the race recorded but some people might like to see what I have.
The third race (last) is part of the Des Hanlon Memorial in Carlow, this is one of the classic racing events held around the country. Unfortunately, I only got the start and riders going up the tough hill in the race (during torrential rain). I didn't manage to get to the finish.
Sorry about the quality, it was copied from a copy when video quality was not great 30 years ago. It is still good to look back all these years later.
