I've been a smog technician for over a decade now, and I do about 15-30 cars a day. I've driven almost every vehicle you can imagine. The answer is no. Ford is the worst with that 😅

IMHO, oil changes should be a loss leader for a shop. You don't make money off them, but its an opportunity to hook a long term customer.

My mechanic (a small, one man shop) does my basic service for LESS than most places, using Mobil 1. By doing this, he has earned my business for all my major repairs, and a hell of a lot of referrals. This business practice (known as a loss leader) has made him WAY more money than he would have gotten charging me $129.99 for an oil change.

I think it is risky taking any vehicle to the speed lube type places because their employees have been known to make mistakes.

I got fed up with the oil change prices......My car is basic 2014 toyota yaris.....I think back then they designed these cars for the diy guy.... Did my change in 20 min...... no leaks good synthetic oil and good filter.... Its so simple mine was anyway....

Kind of opposite where I am at. I can get full synthetic for 70 bucks vs 100 and change at Valvoline. Guess it depends on where you are and use.

So it’s for sure toast if there’s fuel in the larger connector if I let my truck sit a couple of days it runs fine for a few days then it starts shutting off on me but every time I drive it there is fuel residue in that connector

Hmmm, my $75 Mercury minivan from 1996 has done that every time befow 15 MPH for the last 55k miles.... At least I can explain it to panicking passengers now.

Sir I want to thank you so much for that information you put out about the batter, my car has been stalling when ever I drive it .T battery terminal burned a hole into my hood, so we checked my battery and that was the problem. Can't thank you enough. My car runs great .👍☺🚙

With cars and trucks being so much complicated now than many years ago, I think that the additional cost of an oil change done at your shop with the detail that you go through while performing an oil change could maybe save someones life or serious injury by noticing some safety defect. By using quality oil and filters, you will be saving the customer money in the long run. As you said in one of your previous videos, you can pay me now or pay me later.
