We were in Davos and tried to cross the Scarletta Pass but returned after the 3rd snow field…
No shit, too much power😵💫🥴
💪
Fantastic riding, just got back, so thanks for posting, so much fun. A lot of climbing, so glad we were on ebikes, but fair play for pedalling it. Found ourselves on the added black section of Torrent which was hard enough to walk, let alone ride, so I wish we'd turned left! For anyone else's benefit, a new Levo 500w battery just about lasted this route, an old 2018 Levo 500w didn't. Hope you don't mind, but I added 'Killer Enduro Loop near Mollau' to Trailforks. Any trails nearby that are also 'must ride'?
Glad you enjoyed. It is a fabulous loop. No problem adding it to Trailforks. It’s where I pieced the ride together from myself 😉
Feel with you Darren! That’s the reason why I try to sell my RF ERA cranks and bought X0 Transmission Aluminium ones.
I’ve got aluminium ones fitted now. If the budget would stretch, a set of titanium ones would probably be the forever solution though.
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland Yes, but my X0’s are pretty good, alternatively the XTR cranks from shimano. The Challenge with Titanium ones is that Q-factor and the right chain ring offset is needed, which can be challenging…
I would lose my shit
I don't think I was any better. That was just a short selection of my expletive laden rant!
That sucks, what caused it?
I guess it was just the culmination of 4 years of constant abuse!
Was it the pedal side that came loose ?
@@paulbragg9356 Nothing was loose. It was a real challenge to get the pedal out of the remains of the crank without having a vice on hand.
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland and/or too much power 😁
😮
I thought I'd just snapped the chain!
Love the content! Keep on riding!
Thanks! Will do!
Good sesh that Darren... Pity I missed it... Although JD did really start you out with a BANG on Rock 'n Roller... Some excellent chunk on that trail!
I was so impressed with the riding around your way and am very keen to pay you another visit some time 😉
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland Noice... We do have some really fun stuff!
Ordred a specialized turbo levo. Be my first full sus and first ebike but I want comfort and max power possible
That’s exactly the conclusion I came to 😉 I’m sure you won’t regret it 👍
I visit it next week 🎉❤
Awesome. Have fun!
Nice one! Darren Stuff👍🏼🤘🏼
Thanks Dani!! I do love a bit of tech 😉
Nice work getting that line at the 3rd time 👌 ..... It is so different than here with the canopy so high allowing a lot of visibility.
Thanks 👍 Dave. The places we ride are quite literally worlds apart. It would be nice if we could get some of your good weather though. Spring and early summer have been a bit of a wash out here.
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland we are are having a wet winter at the moment
@@DMMTB OKkay, now I don't feel quite so jealous 😉
Nice riding guys. I love where is got extra tough, no more talking, just heavy breathing and concentration! The bolder field was an unusual feature. BTW my Sedona videos are up now :).
It's true, the amount talking is inversely proportional to the difficulty of the trail! I'll definitely go and check out your Sedona videos. Maybe I can get out there some day🤞
That was a tough one Darren, getting into those trails was a tough test, but as expected you summoned all your courage and destroyed those gnarly stone fields. It was fun to watch and you and Jay had a great time. Thanks for sharing these great trails. Ride on and see you soon🤙
Thanks Christoph 👍 It was way tougher than I was expecting! Making it over that first steep roll certainly helped the confidence though.
Wow. You made a GREAT video out of that ride, man! I could tell you loved it on the day, and I can tell you did form this video... 🤩 would have been MUCH better in the dry, also there are so many more trails around there - which both means you will have to come back... soon... btw loved the bit where you fought the tree at that corner, and also the zoom in on my slipperoo 😁👍
Thanks Jay 😍 I'm already trying to persuade Christoph that we should pay you a visit in autumn. I'm still keen to check out Eberbach as well!
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland YES! Would be awesome 🤩 ... and perhaps even put in a stop at Freiburg on the way...
These techy trails look sooo good! The slimy rocks must have been a real confidence test. Well done!
Thanks Jay. The trails were just as good as they looked. Heidelberg is definitely worth a visit.
Great riding guys, awesome location ✌️❤️ to the World.
Thanks dude✌️Heidelberg comes highly recommended!
That steep rock section at 3:45 was wild! great line choice the order of the day, some great riding skills there greasy mudnot easy to ride in. Made me think about my recent trip to Dunkeld, thanks for sharing Darren! 😁🤙
Thanks Gary 👍 Wild was exactly what went through my mind when Jay told me that was the line 🤣. Combined with the greasy conditions, this was some of the toughest most intimidating riding I've done in a long while.
Did the voice guidance also work?
I don’t use the Kiox anymore. The voice directions from komoot are pretty good and much less hassle.
Hi. Did not Get the thing about remove the battery on the second lift? Is it not allowed to bring ebikes in the lifts in lenzerheide?
You can take e-bikes on the lifts in Lenzerheide no problem. The only issue is on the second lift in the Alpenbikepark where the lift is very old and the method for carrying the bikes ivery rudimentary, which is why there is a weight limit that most e-bikes exceed. Hence the need to remove the battery.
Some tricky slipery sections😬 nice riding darren
Cheers Dani!
bel video complimenti. mi consigliate una scuola di MTB a zurigo che parli italiano.
Thank you. Unfortunately, I don't know of any mountain bike schools that can teach in Italian. I would suggest you message some schools and ask if they can teach in Italian.
Oh yeah Darren, I loooove this natural goodness ( 4:04 ) 🤩 This is what Enduro is like or should be like. Thank you very much for taking us here with you! I also think the camera view is so perfect. You can still see the handlebars / tires, but also a lot of the trail. Cheers 🤙Hitsch
Thanks Hitsch. I really think that the chin mount is the best solution for POV videos, but it takes trial and error to get it right.
🤩✌️
🇩🇪 😎
Great video! Fun seeing the tech trails at Whistler highlighted. Next time you come to Whistler, ride the other outside the park trails after Top of the World- Khyber, Middle of Nowhere, Kashmir & Kush. My husband & I like them a lot more than Million Dollar Trail. Bring lots of water and a snack or two- it’ll take a couple of hours.
Thank you! We did the Khyber Pass route last time we were in Whistler, and I agree it is the better of the two. What I really wanted to do was hit Ride Don’t Slide again. Unfortunately though it had been closed by a land slid when we were there.
Janky 😮
Jankaliscious 😜
My other xc bike has an oval ring for 4 years now. Ovals for me feels weird on paved uphills. But it definitely helped me on technical climbs or uneven terrain. Who spends so much time in flats and paved roads on a MTB anyway?
I agree. I don’t see any reason to go back to a round ring. I need all the help I can get at my age 😉
Those trails look amazing mate, kind of reminds me of the Forest Of Dean cheeky stuff. Great video 👍
I think it’s safe to say that I was blown away mate 😃 The world needs more of these kinds of trails!
wow nice!
Thanks, it's a great section of trail.
You can see a lot of work went into these secret trails in Germany, difficult to keep up with local riders knowing the area so well but great fun had by all none the less, handy having a couple of guides skillfully ridden thanks for sharing Darren 😁🤙
I was amazed by the amount of work that had been put into these trails. They all ran so well despite the damp conditions. Having the boys to show me around was great, having someone to follow really helps you get the most out of a ride when you just have one day to spend somewhere.
Good effort, man! That looked well sketchy!
Thanks! 👍 Not actually as sketchy as it looked. Thankfully, the rocks were really grippy 😀
🤩
Great looking trails ..... Fabulous location winding its way down the mountain
Cheers Dave. The more contacts I make, the more I realize how much amazing riding there is to be had out there, even in places we don’t immediately associate with biking.
great trail Darren, a wonderful video, a bit difficult but nice, have a stunning day dear friend, greetings from Argentina
Thanks Sergio 🙏 These trails weren’t without their challenges, but ultimately so rewarding.
Welcome to Germany and a place just 1 hr away from where I live. I love the Pfälzer Wald, however, do not know these secret trails. But they are amazing. Thanks for your extraordinary video, had so much fun watching. And I am talking to Jay re a future ride out together ;-)
Thanks 👍 I always enjoy my trips to Germany. Hopefully, you and Jay can get something sorted, so you can experience these amazing trails as well 😀
Nice one. The trails in the pfälzerwald are soooo nice 👍🏻👍🏻
When we were figuring out where to go, Jay showed me some videos of the different options, and I knew immediately that this had to be one of them 😎
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland definitely a good choice 😃 Jay is a great guide 😁
Oh wow, seems like those were some really good trails Darren. How cool to have two personal guides to show you this great place. I was amazed at how good the grip was in places, but some sections looked very slippery. Great riding as always mate. Thanks for sharing and have a great evening🤙
You would have loved it. We really need to find a time to go and visit the boys for a weekend together.
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland Absolutely!!! Maybe try and make a long weekend out of it even 😉
Indeeeed you said, pretty slippery oh my gosh 🙈
@@mtbuddy 🙈🙈🙈
That looked fun. Lots of great sections to keep you on your toes!
Definitely! I guess you could tell that I was really impressed with the quality of the trails - they wouldn’t be out of place in BC!
They certainly are far off what we ride here. I've been loading some ride videos on my new channel. I've got a couple there from Sedona and will get the Moab one up shortly. Have a look. If you are coming out to BC again let me know and we can ride together! I'm planning to ride in the Nelson area as soon as my ribs heal up. Video to come soon.:)
Weeell, it is not like they are our home trails exactly, we are only guests ourselves over there - and have ridden those trails like 2 or 3 times before (if that). They are definitely absolutely amazing, but not the only great trails in our greater vicinity - might be one of the reasons why we dont ride there every week 😅 Anyway, you made a really well put together video out of that awesome ride! Loved watching every minute of it, and actually those 17min went by REALLY fast - sure sign for a good video! Loved the short zoom in bit on my creek gap fail/save 😂 Btw with the conditions being far from perfect - imagine this in dry and sunny weather... 🤩
Thanks Jay. As always, I was unsure about making such a long video, but in the end there was so much good riding on that day, I just couldn’t decide what to leave out. I’m definitely keen to visit again and check out some more of your great locations 😉
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland yep, totally understandable! I would say it is a sign of a day full of great trails when it turns out to be that hard to try and keep it short 😁 Yes, please! Would love to welcome you (guys) again, hopefully this year!!!
Come to me i show you best of nrw❤
Thanks for the offer. That’s a part of Germany I haven’t ridden in yet, even though I know quite a few people up there. It’s on the radar though 👍
In Germany of all places. 😀 not really known to be the friendliest place for bikers.
The regulations might be very restrictive, but there’s a really strong scene with some amazing riding. We might be blessed with the access we have to a massive network of hiking trails in Switzerland, but I’d love to have more of these sorts of trails.
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland 100%! Those are really amazing trails.
Very great riding in such tricky conditions 💪. Nice Video
Thanks Marius 👍
These trails look incredible! Perfect to watch with the afterwork beer. I ride mainly "secret" trails and I know the frustration of not giving their locations. However since we ride them, this means people are still sharing (talking) 😉.
Thanks Jay. I’m really torn on the topic of secret trails. I fully understand why people build them and want to keep them secret, but at the same time I think it’s mostly a symptom of a lack of proper MTB infrastructure that is so frustrating. As you say though, word of mouth is a powerful tool 😉
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland Absolutely, the lack of infrastructure is the main reason!
Great day ou that Darren... And glad we were able to catch up again. The gaps between these sessions seem a little too long... :D
It was fab to see you again Phil. You’re right these get togethers are too infrequent. Unfortunately life and physical distance get in the way. Let’s hope it’s not too long until next time!
Thank you, im in my late 30ties, just started to mtb. And already hit my first small jumps- and im addicted! What kind of protection are you wearing?
Good stuff! When I'm in the bike park, I usually wear a full face helmet, knee pads and a back and chest protector. I should probably wear elbow pads as well, but I hate the way they feel.
I'm so lucky I live 10 mins from the trail!
That is very lucky. How’s it looking at the moment?
Looks like a fun trail. Lots of nice jumps and rough sections to mix things up!
It's good fun for sure, which is why I'm quite keen to go back and figure it out properly.
geilä scheiss👍🏽👌🏼🤘🏼
Das wär öppis wann du wieder chasch gumpä.
Oh yes Darren! That was my very first downhill (or freeride) trail which I ridden! I love its playful and technical character, I find it more challenging than the Zugerberg Trail, for example. Do you agree? Very good video in the usual performance from you. Thank you very much! Cheers 🤙Hitsch
Thanks Hitsch. I’ve never actually ridden the Zugerbegr trail, so can’t say. I’d it one you’d recommend?
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland Yes, absolutely! The trail is very flowy and still has one or two technical gimmicks. I would definitely stop by!
