Looks like Sears at Westgate Mall in Spartanburg, SC.

This is a Time Machine, feels like yesterday, looking at the clothing and the essence of this time makes me want to go back be young .
They were the big kids.
back when being middle class meant you could afford a house
Fake... This is not film.
I was 12 in 1977 life today is very different, when u went to buy shoes a employee would measure your foot,go in the back and bring out the shoes and assist putting the shoes on your feet, you didnât have access to the shoes just displays. There has been a societal breakdown for sure.
Need to remake a new one but retro style like this.
I remember the late night release of the walking dead game back in the 2005-2012 I think everyone lined up for a free zombie ear key chain đ
I remember going to Kmart with my Uncle and aunt when I was a kid. I always hated it đ
Itâs fun to look back, but Iâll NEVER understand why people would want things to still be like this.
I took a still-camera to school that day. We had a teacher, Miss Brandt, who would theatrically rip off her glasses as a warning that one of us was very close to getting into real trouble. I got my closest friend, Kevin, to egg her on. She seemed almost confused. It was the last day for cyin' out loud. Why would he be giving her crap now? Anyway, she eventually swiped away the frames, threw her patented stern look, saw my flash go off, and broke into a smile because she knew she'd been set up. We all laughed. She asked for, and enjoyed, a print.
Never had any need to lock the car doors. Today, endless anti-theft gadgets.
a couple of days later I took a spill on a bike and got to spend an overnight at the hospital for precautionary, head trauma, observation. (overkill, imo, but it let everyone relax a bit.) my roomate there was a jr. high kid who somehow managed to blow out his kneecap a day or two before while doing the triple-jump at a track meet. the rest of that summer went fine and, even to this day, is among my favorites.
Crazy to think that a few miles away I was walking home from school at the same time on that obviously gorgeous Michigan day.
When life was so simple
one or more of my friends had that vinny barbarino shirt.
The year I graduated from high school and the year my father died. I was 17 years old but 1977 was a blur. I still would go back in a second.
God, what silence. service culture. The sound of cash registers and the rustle of banknotes. How I miss this and these analog peopleđ The world today is like the dark side of the moonđ€Š
đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°
It's weird how the simple act of family members enjoying one another's company seems antiquated.
I was in junior high 7th grade we not rich but we had morals values and respect things that are barely taught anymore ! there were issues everything wasnât peaches and cream but compared to the world of today we may have gained a lot of technological freedom but we lost of creativity and free thinking .we are so easily influenced by all the media that surroundâs us these days which is causing us a lot of internal conflict with what is right and what is wrong what we should do and what we should not do and the other thing I think it is people were willing to help one another something that people donât do anymore out of fear of being used out of fear of being taken advantage of. Or worse, you could lose your life.
I miss Old Walmart so much đą
and no flash mobs stealing everything
Yeah cuz that happens all the time...chuckle
Why do the cash registers sound like malfunctioning jackhammers? đ€Ż
i think that black Starbucks girl still might be in her early 20 are maybe her 30 are 40 from 2024 i don't know she still work at Starbucks thoughđ
No coloured "teens" terrorizing or looting the mall? Wow. Times have changed.
It sounds like your ignorance hasn't changed
Did you send Trump money?
The last day of school in 1977 I finished First Grade: Field Day! So much fun. And the boy wearing the âUp your nose with a rubber hoseâ shirt from Welcome Back Kotter! OMG, I remember a boy I knew back then who wore that shirt every Friday. And I knew a girl with the âJeans Jeans Jeansâ t-shirt. How fun to see those things I had long forgotten about.
Betting that same Brannock Device shoe sizer is still being used today.
I was born in 2005
Whoppers were 99 cent's and real 100% beef back then
I graduated from Texas Tech University. I frequented this mall a lot in the late 80's and early 90's.
These days the TVs are all on mute with subtitles
That barcode pen is wild.
Haha, hundreds of miles away, I was in another Sears, exactly like the boy...sitting there yawning. Also, I remember actually having to manually roll up the window, and those fancy cash registers which made all kinds of noises.
Drivers Ed really was lacking in the "how to properly park and exit a vehicle" department
@7:10 - SCHLURRPPP ! BURRRPPPP !!!!
Lots of neat stuff in this video. Sears Catalog on counter. Hand keying stock numbers into the IBM terminal. The shoe dept was a $ maker and sales people worked on commission. The customer pays with credit card (many people also paid by check). Sears was a large finance company as well as a department store. Employee were trained and monitored to get 1 for 20. 1 new sears credit card application for every 20 hours you worked. Notice the paperbag and the sales receipt stapled right over the top. Sears had their own loss prevention team for each store. Which they needed because each store might have 4 or more entrance doors. Muzak was played softly in the stores with occasional announcements. Sears were great for jobs and 10% employee discount, time clocks. Lots of part time positions (some with commission). Employees wore nice clothes and Sears namebadges. Men wore suits and ties. Part time boys wore collared shirt with tie. Once in while you'd see a man with an earing or a veteran with a tattoo on the arm, very unlike what you see today. The hours were 8am - 9 pm. Sat 9-6, and Sunday 12-5. Employees would work in the stores for 25 years or longer. A medium sized store would have American Products and these departments: Appliances, TVs and electronic, Shoes, clothes, jewelry, candy, furniture, catalog counter, automotive, tools, aquarium and fish, hardware, paint, Allstate counter, parts, dept, sewing machine dept, photo studio, and a employee cafeteria. By 1985, Sears was falling behind. Profits were down. Sales were lost to other stores. Consumer habits were changing. Specialty stores were opening nearby which siphoned business. Department stores were in decline. Sears closed stores in small towns and moved to larger malls and suburban areas. The leaders were unable to transition the store with the changing times and new spending habits. Sears could have become Amazon yet it missed the opportunity and a truly American shopping institution was lost forever.
No card machines
Now you go up to the counters and no one's theređ. Here you have no rowdy teens, just pure adulting and even dressed up
remember when they used to announce to the entire restaurant, what you just ordered?? there were no meals deals by number. The question was always do you want fries with that?
0:35 Why would you just put your foot on someone else's car like that? Rude af.
