- Video from the Majestic Diner located in Atlanta, Georgia in the late night/early wee morning hours.
Shots of the lucky survivors on the first day of the new Millennium enjoying meals, waitresses serving customers and life moving on as usual.
Not much going on here in this one...
This ridiculously short little video last around 2 minutes or so.

This is easily becoming my favorite CZcams channel! I feel cozy and like I am going back in time.
Wow! That's awesome! Thanks for the nice comment 😊
I agree! The nostalgia is just 😮💨 it feels so wholesome
These people had no idea what was to come in the years ahead
Neither do we now, so what’s the difference..?
@HelloooThere Your overthinking it
@@HelloooThere The difference is that we can look back upon what's transpired whereas currently people cannot do the same for us.
I was 19. I certainly knew what was coming.
@@BADD1ONESure you did Nostradamus
Advice to these people - Find a way to stay put. You won’t miss much in the next 23 years.
🤣🤣 2 funny!
Yep. 😂
sounds like you were really in an apocalypse
Except the collapse of democracy and the rise of technology controlling literally everything
Lol. I was in the Marine Corps and had to do some dumbazz assignment for my Plt about Y2k and its potential effects, back in '99. Unbelievably stupid. I know my Lt and Gunny had it out for me. Anyway, people were really freaked about it. Especially people and their banking. I guess looking back, understandable. When you don't know, you don't know. The mind is a terrible battlefield. Not to mention all the worry mongers on TV reporting BS non stop.
I honestly cant think of a better place near the end of the world Y2K to spend my time in a nice cozy diner.
Maybe life would have been better if the computers ended up dying...
It would have
No that would have sucked.
The old Internet was fine, but social media and tech being made to not be niche anymore really did us in.
LOL at the waitress at 1:26 yelling at the bald guy, "C'mon MOVE! MOVE! MOVE! 😂
In 1999 when I was 6, my great uncle said: in 20 years, everyone's going to have a cell phones and be glued to them. He was eerily right.
Eerily right indeed…
Extremely right as I watch this on my phone 😂
Don't tell him I'm watching this on a phone.
Was your great uncle Steve Jobs? 😁
The bad footage quality makes it look even older than 2000..
Excellent video as always.
I can't believe people actually thought all computers would die.
My father earned good money from this fear back in the days. 🎉😅
They weren’t going to die. They were just going to think the year was 1900. If they glitched, they glitched.
LOL and we would not have anymore water.
While these people were at the diner, I was updating computers. Better late than never! As others said, there was solid money in this. Of course, a major tech crash was right around the corner.
The Y2K thing was funny to me. I got a lot of military surplus catalogs in the mail selling all sorts of "survive the apocalypse" stuff at that time. I knew it was all crap because there's no way computers would glitch out and declare war on humans because they couldn't distinguish between the year 1900 and 2000 due to them programmed to identify the year by the last two digits. The worst thing I remember hearing about was some ATMs spit out free cash when they glitched.
Capitalism at its finest yo, lol
90's was the last great decade overall as a whole.
Yeah I have to agree its so strange how things turned out.
@@videosuperhighway7655 IMO we are living in a dystopia now.
I'm honestly starting to believe the 2000s (especially the earlier part and minus 9/11) was. Those times don't even feel real anymore. That's how messed up things have have been for the last 10 years.
@@tias.6675 Nah, bruh. It all went downhill after 9/11.
I love these oldies videos man. I was born in 1992 so a lot of these videos bring back memories. I enjoy every video you offer. Thank you.
The Apocalypse came but slowly like a Python suffocating its prey.
I was sitting on the couch next to my dad when i was a kiddo in the Y2K era. Tonight as i sat and watched the ball drop 24 years later.. brought tears to my eyes. ❤
Love the diner scene here combined with Y2K not happening either! I enjoyed seeing the cooking of eggs, pancakes, the clanking sounds of restaurant silverware, plates, cooking sights and sounds etc... Made me hungry just looking at this video from over 23 years ago. Probably people staying up through the night to not only see the new millennium come in, but also a share of people just eagerly waiting to see if everything goes out and malfunctions at the stroke of midnight only to find nothing happened.
On a note: that was an interesting sarcastic part of video where the one waiter said run run in response to the guy in front of worker running off.
lol happy new years eve. what great videos to wake up to 😂
Strange. The Olive Garden we tried to eat at didn’t have power. Despite having power when they first opened, they were unable to take orders, and anyone who managed to get food got it on the house, since there was no way to pay. You could leave a tip if you had cash, there was just no point of sales system to officially check you out. Everyone called it “delayed Y2K.”
Love this so much, it’s like I’m time traveling. ❤️👏🏼
Absolutely love these videos
I want to go back.
Fun fact: The Y2K apocalypse came and none of these people survived.
🤣🤣 That's funny Mike.
I was born in 1989 and I was 11 in 2000. I heard about y2k but I was young and didn’t care, so I celebrated the new year with family friends 😅🎉
2001 was when life started getting hard. After September to ge specific.
I don't remember the whole craze because 6 year old me accidentally got "drunk" from stealing my mom's orange whiskey (or rum). It wasn't much, but it was enough to give a 6 year old a hangover lol.
Thanks for this, and hello from a Generation X'er in northeast Ohio.
We were so innocent back then , that we didn’t know how innocent we were …
The power was on, amazing!
I was 17 at my grandma's house with my mother and other family practically in the middle of nowhere. We had a small fire in the back, shot off fireworks, and drank champagne to ring in the New Year. Church bells were rung at midnight in the distance. We had survived Y2K. The morning after during breakfast my grandmother still couldn't believe that it was the year 2000. I was hopeful that the world would get better as the new century unfolded. So far the air had been let out of that balloon.
The first of MANY jokes…🙄😵💫
This video is Awesome!.. Y2K.. I bought a case of beer and then laughed at Everybody the next day!
To think how different the world was about to be when 9/11 happened. If only we could go back..
Happy new year🎉
Yes, Happy New Year Daniel!
Good vid🎉
My brother was 7 and I wouldn't be born until 5 years later 😂
Some computer systems couldn't operate, but they were quickly fixed.
A time traveler from the future took care of that.
The server in the Hop On Your Ear hat 🎉
That is the most delicious looking egg I have ever seen
Did you film this footage or did you find it elsewhere?
Wondering the same.
It's raw b-roll footage from a defunct CZcams channel btm0815ma. Vampire Robot is trying to preserve this old b-roll footage again for us to enjoy.
I think this is B roll footage used for news reports for tv or something. I did news classes in college and would film random footage to use for clips to create a story. Something like this
They actually had no idea how privileged they were at the time.
Some of the 9/11 hijackers were in Atlanta during this time. See any in this video?
Lol Y2K was such a a scam. Had me TERRIFIED for 2 years before 😂. 2000 was a great year though.
I'm still hiding in my garage with a camping stove and a handgun! What happened? 😂
🤣🤣🤣
i was a teen kissing a stranger while we welcomed our finality😮(spoiler- nothing happened)
First hours of The Year 2000. The New Millennium. I fully expect to see cyber bedlam as soon as I step out of this diner. So I'm fueling up for the post-apocalypse.
"Honest gas stove, honest electric griddle. Nothin' computational about that" I tell myself. The diner is "Y2K proof," I tell myself. But we here? We here are some of the last few holdouts of humanity. As I strike out to join the fight for mankind's survival, I'll remember this place as safe refuge. I'll make sure to find my way back here after I've worked up an appetite going to war against the Terminators and the Lawnmower Men.
😂😂😂
Now this was 24 years ago, and I was born in '08
On 1 23 2000 royal rumble won the royal rumble over the top 30 man battle royal. HHH defeated mick foley in a street fight for wwe title. On 1 25 2000 hip hop trio the lox releases second studio album called we are the streets i own this album. And 2000 waa actually last year youd see pa explicit lyrics before jus pa explicit content
I ate at this diner with my wife back in 2019 on a trip to Six Flags. Same atmosphere. Reminded me of a slightly larger Waffle House in way, but with more offerings.
Hey vampire robot can you do McDonald’s in 2005 that’s my childhood place in Florida
