  • Sometimes sequels just flat-out stink and this follow-up part II video might prove just that.
    • Going to the movies in...
Ironic, since most of these moviegoers are finally getting their first chance to see the much-anticipated follow-up to the classic Academy award winning 1991 film, "The Silence of the Lambs".
Footage from a Washington D.C. Lowes movie theater during the weekend premiere of "Hannibal".
    www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend...
Shots of patrons buying tickets, a unique video game tie-in at the concession stand and some other interesting odds and ends.
This video last around 10 minutes.

These were the days. Just being a young teenager growing up in Chicago. Going to the movies in 2001, playing PS2 and Dreamcast, going to friends houses and having full on wrestling matches with each other and how popular the attitude era in wrestling was at the time. Those were the days. Seems like only yesterday but man time certainly does fly. I truly miss the simplicity of those days and not having to have many responsibilities outside of going to school and doing household chores lol

What games of today do you play bro? I was born in 84. Man, dreamcast. First system to be online then later original xbox. Those were the golden years. Just all of it. Playstation, PS2, Metal Gear solid, Dragon ball z, toonami, xbox live, anime. All of it! lol I truly think 80s-2009 was peak. Then dub step and social media was catching on.
Everything sucks now. Wrestling, music, movies but video games haven't changed much aside from battlepasses and devs listening to twitter whinners. Games continue to evolve as tech does.

@@ProvenFlawless CZcams messed up my notifications I am just now seeing these comments lol. My first systems was the sega genesis back in 1990 or 1991. I was a lil man then but I loved my genesis. I was big into Mortal Kombat and Sonic later on I got a sega Saturn, N64, PlayStation and then in 1999 I got a Dreamcast. I have had most of the popular game systems that have come out over the generations. I am in the process now of recollecting old systems again.
I do enjoy the new systems series x, ps5 and switch (even though the switch is far from new at this point lol) but the good old days of the early 90s and 2000s that magic is gone. The only way I get that back now is going back to play the classics. New games are cool and there are some great ones but it just doesn’t quite have that feel that older games had back then. Everything was better then like you were saying. The best of times then!

I worked in a movie theater when in 1986, when was still in high school. Aside from having much better movies back then, the concession and ticket prices weren't insane. We had $2 Tuesdays all day, even though the theater I worked at was no run down and was in a very nice area. You could get a popcorn for $1.75 and a drink for $1.25. We used real butter on the popcorn and it was popped with palm oil. Probably the most fun job I ever had. Lots of cute girls on staff, we'd throw the NERF football around while cleaning the theaters. The only adults were the manager and the projectionists. Boy were those projectionists an eccentric group, with crazy stories.

Hi! Gosh, I was fully an adult during this time and I remember meeting my parents and my partners parents at the theater to see this with us.
It feels like YESTERDAY but then I SEE how things looked and hear how different things sound and I’m blown away by times passage.
I used to think people were loud and rude but compared to now they we were much more civilized.
People made eye contact and acknowledged each other.
It feels close, and time messes with all of us who introspect pretty intensely but one trick that works is filling in the years.
If you just think back to a specific moment in time it’ll feel like no time has passed but if you start plugging in all the things you’ve experienced, the things that have happened since it pushes time apart a bit and gives some distance so life didn’t feel so short, so fleeting, even though it is.
We exist in less than a blink of time.
Let’s put our phones down 🙏🏻

2001 was a really good year for movies. Me and my cousins went to so many movies here in Seattle and back then nobody was on Instagram looking at their smart phones all day back then movie theaters mostly accepted cash now you gotta pull out your plastic to pay to pay $27 for hotdog and a soda, and that’s not counting the price of the movie ticket

Sometimes I feel like reality just shifts. A touch screen computer in 2001? I don't remember there being any computers with a touch screen back then. Maybe it's just me and I never noticed some businesses were set up like this. I still love the movies. The vibe is definitely not the same as it was back then though. The concession food is priced way too high now. But I still get decent movie prices as the movie theaters around me offer certain days with discounted tickets.

Things were starting to become more "futuristic" by the early 2000s and even late 90s. Except then, the new tech wasn't everywhere like it is now, nor was it completely taking over our lives yet. it was a nice mix of contemporary and old school, imo.
