From start to finish, I still prefer the current Steam UI. Some of the changes you made are not appropriate, as Steam purposefully designed certain aspects, like links, for transparency and safety. While the design concept is cool and modern, it feels less like Steam with its dark and monotonous design. It might look good from a UI/UX designer's perspective, but not for common consumers and developers.

The Tidal app implements many of the strategies you've outlined, and basically fixes a lot of the organisational issues. The UX team probably did card sorting and other user testing when designing the UI, so it ended up being well-thought out. It was interesting to see your thought process, I can see you are experienced.

i really like the steam ui. I think they kept their theme to some degree and did not adapt too much to the trends

I mostly agree with your changes but I have a couple points. Firstly not every app needs to be Tik Tok. Honestly Spotify should just delete that section IMO. It seems cheap and just desperate to me. Secondly I want a way to see every song by an artist. Quite often I'll go "Oh what is that (insert artist name) song that I like?". I know the artist and I'll probably recognize the title if I see it but I have 0.0 idea what album it is in. Right now you have to go album by album and if the artist makes enough music you'll probably just end up giving up before you find the song you want. Also there should be a way to make the DJ thing shut up. I do NOT want my music app to EVER try and speak to me. It's weird. And finally I want to be able to change the color. I like green don't get me wrong but it would be a nice little customization thing. Give us like 10 colors to pick from.

Touching the discovery queue with anything but clothed gloves is sacriliege, i have 15762 games in that queue alone. Its the only place to truly be able to find every game on steam with every result being unique since it does not show repeats. It is also the list steam keeps on you for if you have SEEN a game not that it cares but im betting the design saves how long you spent to click next which is why its incentivized with rewards in the first place to optimize sales. I also do not like how much is taken out, even if it has the same name as something else it might do something different. The library was like that!

I don't know why everyone was hating on tables for layouts. Yes they are wrong semantically but until subgrid I was dealing with problems where they were the only sane option if I don't want to compute a lot of stuff within JS myself. And there are probably a lot of computers/phones not running a browser supporting it.

you know what i need them to change... recommended songs after your music ends. idk if it's just broken or whether labels are paying bank for spotify to promote their music, but every, single, time i reach the end of an album or playlist, spotify starts playing espresso by sabrina carpenter. even if the vibe i was listening to was something completely different, nope, here's sabrina. i don't even dislike that song on its merits but when i start hearing the intro i want to rip out my eardrums now. i've entirely disabled spotify automatically playing songs when my music ends because i cannot hear that cursed song again. it did it with so hot you're hurting my feelings by caroline polacheck a couple of years ago, so the algorithm/funding model is broken. when something i put on finishes, i want to get the radio/things that sound similar that i might like, not the same heavily promoted song again and again and again until i can't hear it without wanting to scream. please and thank you spotify.
