How did I miss this I bought my deuce off Keith! Awesome guy. If he's selling some brackets I'm buying 'em. That's wild, small world. Wonder if he still has the for sale video for my truck on the channel xD
Replace at 100k. Kaplunk.
Mine is the steel ring seal and says printed on it 'install lip dry" bit confusing
It means don't put any oil or grease on the seal lips. If you do it will leak. That may be a metallic/ graphite seal.
In my day I ran a DSU. I had a Fuel & Electric Section that were wizards of Bosch and Stanadyne injection systems. Their MOS's were 63G. I don't think they have those guys anymore.
In my face give inches from it. Three .e onto the car under the the hood
thanks for that bit of info. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Hi, what plate I should use to put 2008 allison transmission into my 1995 cummins 12 valves engine???? Do you have the part number?
Man, I wish I could help you but I'm on the other side of the world right now in Korea.
how to remove on come on !
Use a hammer and punch. Hit one side to turn it sideways and then pull it out with pliers.
How do I fix it if I have the exact opposite issue? It runs cool while on the road but over heats sitting idle for roughly 20-30-ish mins. I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
Could be the fan clutch has gone bad, water pump is weak, or radiator has buildup inside so there's not enough heat transfer at low flow.
Be nice if you explained how to support the truck how many jacks and stands are needed etc this video was not much help.
THANKS GARRET FROM CHILE✌
where did you get the adapter for the T?
It came with the flush kit.
@@tacticalrepair thx for the info man
FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
0:38 really had to specify that he had a snapon
Well mine had a rod knock and now has a thrown rod because I drove it like that for a year because it’s my shitbox work truck 🤣 my 01 Laredo is dying
Man, was not expecting to need a 2nd air pack to upgrade to dual circuit. Any way around this or that unsafe somehow? Have the dual circuit master, guess I'll have to go back and reread what all's necessary.
No way around it aside from re-engineering the whole system. If you already have the master cylinder and mounting bracket then all you need is the other air pack and some line work.
@@tacticalrepair awesome. thanks for the heads up.
Where can I get this kit? Thanks
I cant find anywhere that says what the idle oil pressure should be. I'm at my wits end with the truck and as much as I like it I'm thinking of ditching it. So much effort and money just to keep the damn thing running.
Anything over 10 pounds at hot idle is acceptable. Generally you see around 20-30. They will frustrate you until you take the time to go through all the things that need attention. Driving them before it's all been done is what causes the headache.
Ok thank you. I'm replacing the oil sending unit now too and it's not easy to get to haha. Edit: I just replaced and checked a new oil pressure Guage and tested it as you've shown and get like 6.8 volts. I read in the other comments that these are sometimes bad out of the box? Both my old and new gages max at 60.
How do I know if my break master syndrome is not working?
Brakes hydrologic buster
i love watching your videos i dont even have one lol but some day i will they are very rare here in ireland
yup commen issue but if your harmonic balancer is slipping you would have a lot more pressing issues like loss power steering, battery dying, no ac no fan
Stainless bolt? I've had trouble getting weld to stick to stainless.
Nah, just wasn't getting good penetrating
I just rewatched this looking for some other info. With the front tilting hood, I d9nt think you could fit a cable winder onto that winch.
You can. Most of these trucks have one on them.
How would a failure manifest in driving, besides obvious powerloss? I have a 12v in a freightliner ambulance Im having weird issues with
Really just that and harder to start. Possibly some surging. If it isn't the overflow valve it's probably the lift ( transfer) pump bolted onto the block below and aft of the injection pump.
This is so funny Just bought a jeep and it had the same knock picked it up cheap .. Thanks for the video! You the man!
Greatly appreciate your channel, it was invaluable when I serviced my truck.
1973 M 35 A2. The brake pedal on my truck gets extremely firm after I press the brakes two or three times. If I crack the bleeder on the air pack unit, the pedal will go halfway down again and the brakes will work fine for two or three stops. I replaced the air pack unit and it worked for a few weeks. Now I’m having the same problem again. I have replaced the brakes and the brake cylinders at each wheel. When the pedal gets firm, the brakes are continually on and the hubs get very hot. Any help you have would be greatly appreciated.
Hi my name is Wells,I have 3 M51A2 deuce and half military dump truck. I am having a fuel issue on one of my trucks. I have replaced three filters and have fuel coming out of top of filters by the engine. I have removed the dust cover at the injection pump. Sprayed with Master Blaster. Iam looking at two screws inside that are wired together and what looks like an 1 and eight inch rod. I can't get much movement. Cracked injectors but no fuel.Engine runs on starter fluid. I don't know what to do or how to put dust cover back on. The trucks are located in Perkins,Ga. Please help. I also have pictures.
Start with the back filter first. Good advice and a step that is often left out in technical manuals. Great video! Thank you!
Did you heat the brackets up to bend them? My door is hitting in the bottom corner like you showed but hitting the bracket with a hammer isnt moving it
No, no heat. They will bend but you need to use a heavy hammer and hit right on the end of the ears. I think my hammer is a 32 oz . You need that weight and momentum to cause the bend. A lighter hammer just bounces because it can't overcome the elasticity of the steel.
Yea rofl pretty sweet lunch break. Plus the awesome food and culture and rotary freedom
Could someone please tell me if these housing shown in this video are for a manual transmission only or do they also work for the automatic transmissions
They work for both.
Thank you, great information about the valve seal. I need to replace them on my 84 258.
5 years later and a great informative vid. TY
Amateur at best
I'd love to see how you'd do it better, if you ever even have. I'd bet you don't even have a basic understanding of how any of this shit works together.
🙂
Just re-watched this as I'm replacing the shoes in my M35Cdn today. Thanks, Garrett!🫡🍁
I increased the size of my threaded rod to 5/16"-18. I also used extreme strength heavy nuts which have a width of 9/16" rather than 1/2" for more clamping force.
Message from the Great White North where the snow has finally melted and my house has finally thawed out!!🥶🍁 Thanks for the update, Garrett! I'm sorry my own financial situation prevented me from donating to OPERATION KINDNESS. Your reponse to a subscriber's troubles shows us the kind of man you are: caring, kind, dogged and up-front. If you need an ear, send me a PM. God bless and, as you Southerners say, "Preciate cha!" Mike 🫡😁👍👍🍁🍁
Deal with life, brother. We've all been through our tough times. Lean on your support network. It helps. You have your own community here (Lord knows, you've helped me with my truck issues enough!). I'm a bit older than you (OK, a LOT older than you), but I can assure you that no matter how steep the hill seems right now (and it probably seems steep as hell), you will get through it.
You may not think or may be apprehensive of your need for prayer and reassurance from people who follow your life story as it plays out. I'm proud to tell you that you are not the only one in a position to sacrifice and help others. Many serving brothers and sisters and family as well as citizens of our great country appreciate your dedication to getting the task done. Well done! God Bless You! Carry on!
Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear you’re having troubles. God doesn’t give us anything we can’t overcome, it just seems that way at the moment. And my drinking never fixed any of it. So I traded alcohol for the Serenity Prayer. I’m definitely more clear headed. Hold on to your faith. It’ll all work out over time. From Lafayette Louisiana, god bless!
I know I aint the only one who misses your videos. Hope only the best for ya!!! If your ever in Alabama around Talladega look me up. Good luck and my prayers be with you and your struggles.
Appreciate you man. Remember, it's not what happens to you, but how you react that matters.

How to repair 1976 M35A soft top until i can get a replacement please? Having issues locating a replacement. The zipper is locked in the open position. No way to keep animals out. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Maybe try to tape it closed with duct tape or 100mph tape. You may be able to free the zipper by melting some candle wax on it.
I GOT A NO BUS CODE..AND TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY..WHEN I unplugged the tcm gauges work..and no bus disappeared..
Sounds like the TCM is bad.

I have been a subscriber for a bit because I have a deuce and a half. It is in Creston California and I am paying to store it on land that I use to live on in it. He is moving in about a month or so and I have to figure out what to do with it because I have moved to Seattle. It has a burnt out alternator from last dumb mechanic that worked on it. Some electrical problems with tail lights and some cracked glass in door. As far as this playing into operation kindness, not really sure because pulling motor from it would be kind of waste because it has converted into RV. 30 amp electric, bunk beds in it standing safe. Thinking of putting it on a flat bed semi and paying to move it, but no where yet to put it here so would have to pay to store it again. I guess first is anyone here near Seattle or near Creston CA willing to comment with advice.
