    Garrett, I did get it all back together and running! Thanks so much for the advice and help. Also, thanks for the compliment, it means a lot coming from the "Deuce Whisperer" himself! I did make a video of my process of working on this issue. It should be up in a few days. Thanks again for the help!

      For what it's worth, I meant to say " friend and viewer", not just " viewer" but spaced it. I do consider you a friend. Glad you got it sorted out!

      Modern Diesel dries up and gums up everything in the system. Diesel that has been sitting for 20 years is fine.

    Years ago my 1992 cummins-turbo diesel had terrible problems with the lack of sulfur in the diesel, back then it was common knowledge by 'farmers' that you dumped in a few ounces of FORD F-100 Red Tranny fluid with every other tank, or filling, and never a problem;
    I know that lot's of places don't even sell F-100 anymore, maybe you can still get it;
    Symptoms used to be the 'fuel-injection' pump blowing its seals, after a few rebuilds you learn not to skip the sulfur; Another comment is that the reason for F-100 is that it was $1 a quart, while the 'fuel-additive' diesel stuff was $20 a gallon, so most of us penny pinchers used the F-100 for that reason;
    An obvious problem depending on your state is that farm diesel (tax exempt) is quite often died 'red' and if you GOV inspects and finds the red from the F-100 they may argue that your running non-taxed diesel, but in all my years I never had nobody 'inspect my fuel'; Of course I always did my own servicing, it wouldn't surprise to know that some servicing estab's might rat out their customers to the 'tax-man'

    I've got 2 deuces. One gets the stuck HH pretty quick and the other can sit for months on end without a problem. Same fuel. No idea why.

    I bought a few (like 9) cases of 2 stroke oil when a local store was closing down. Every time I add diesel I put a quart in it. Which isn't very often because it sees alot of other fuels. I have about 900 gallon of used motor oil, atf and gasoline from vehicles that I have scrapped and places that I've worked. The deuce and the wrecker both sat since mid April and they both started, ran good and were put to work this week.

    I use 50 wmo and 50 diesel, and runs great, zero issues, i change filters more often, but starting to think i dont need to, because they coming out clean, i centrifuge clean the oil.

    Was hopping you may have knowledge on how to repair the air powered assist steering it’s just dumping air out , works half the time but it’s letting a lot of air bypass

      Not something I've done, but I understand they are rebuildable.

    To keep everything happy you need to run a good additive in every tank or every other. Used power service many years with no issues. Right now I've been using archoil or hotshots secret.

    Ultra low Sulphur Diesel is very dry now. They have to add a lubricant back to it to meet minimum specifications and it's still not as good as low Sulphur Diesel.
    As far as a lube add there's a chart showing different additives and their lubricity

    I had issues with it where I live started last year I started running alternative fuels after that making black deisel and no more issues with it in my duece I'm running a 80% oil no synthetic oil and 20% none ethanol gas and then add 10% more deisel then I add gas and its never had an issue since be sure to use a high quality centrifuge on the oil I run it through 4 passes with a heater at 160 to 200degrees f been running it now over a year and no cooked injectors I add a little atf in it after every 3 fuel tanks full I ad 3 gallons at to the 4th tank either used and centrifuge at or buy it new if I have none to run through it truck seem to run better on it then deisel from the pump also

    • @tacticalrepair
      @tacticalrepair Před 9 měsíci

      Absolutely, you are making better quality fuel than you can buy at the pump these days.

    I know these trucks like lubricated fuel and the current diesel have less sulphur, it seems more dry than it used to be. When I run gas or diesel, I always add wmo to it, maybe only 5-10 gallons for diesel, but at least 10-15 for gas if not more. Only issue I've had was running almost 100% wmo and I'm pretty sure the float in the fdc got stuck because if I run too much diesel or gas, it won't start and run properly and stalls out at normal idling RPMs. I'm looking to bypass that damn thing soon anyway, lol.
