These CHEAP and FREE Foods Keep Chickens Healthy in WINTER!
We're not being told the truth and the agenda. That they invented the crisis to lower food production to create a famine.
I grew up with 15,000 chickens on our farm, at one time the chickens got something, put on anti-biotics, all eggs were to be thrown out and then the chickens were fine. What we have here going on , they trying to create a pandemic again, and the bird flu has allready been around a some years ago, and they treated with TAMIFLU. Do not fall for their lies again, and the eye problems, pink eye. They just want to use this to kill our meat, chickens, cows, they are a bunch of liars again. Covid was a trial for the globalist, they said it themselves. Deception
I never had trust in Government before 2019. That was cemented in place in 2020 and I will never see society or the world the same again. I TRUST NO ONE!!!
Birdflu just another lie on Davos Agenda to have us eating bugs....Sheep and Cattle are next to go then big land grab to remove farmers
OMG have you seen the stone cottage chicken coop on âmy self relianceâ I would love to hear your comments.
Thank you so much for your guidance. Itâs 4th of July and my teenage chicks are unsettled. Iâm now sitting on a bucket with my German Shepherd in the coop. They are so much more settled! Also I realized because of the extra sized coop and roosting bars, low chick on the totem pool was alone. I took one out and sheâs no longer on her own! Thank you for all you do and share. BTW, I have a t-shirt on the way. đ
Did you order a t-shirt from the Chickenlandia store? I didnât see an order come in and I want to make sure I didnât miss it. I was at a conference and now that Iâm back Iâm sick! Let me know if you ordered something so I can check if I missed it. â€ïž
Backyard chickens/roosters etc are annoying when they make noise all day everyday for the neighbours, and they attract rats and mice... đą
For the last few years, I have fed all my chickens, no matter their age, grower feed in fermented mash form. And I have oyster shell on the side. They need the extra protein. Iâve never had any problems with feather pickers or egg eaters. and they seem to have much easier molts. They donât lose nearly as many feathers. when most of them seem to go into molt in the fall, I actually will add some black oil, sunflower seeds daily. and donât forget, chickens are not vegetarian. Get them out there to eat the bugs if possible. If not, give them meat. Or eggs.
Ugh! Hope that I don't ever experience that! đ
All my chickens come at each other sometimes and stand up in that "dare you" position momentarily. Is some of this behavior normal for chickens? I am wondering if sometimes it is when I come around and they are being competitive for attention or treats.
I donât understand the practice of turning roosters out with multiple different breeds of hens. If there is no intention of hatching the eggs, fine, in which case, why have roosters? If some of the eggs are to be hatched - why? They are crossed up mongrels.
It's also a way to push vaccine's bill gates already got a bird flu vaccine developed
People are beyond nasty, we have very young chicks we hatched in the house right now. What is wrong with that. They would never survive outside.... They are living little beings. Why r people so nasty...they must be truly miserable to lash out without a reason
I don't believe anything the gov. Says. I will never take a vaccine. It's all propaganda and fear mongering for control of us.
Thank you so much!!!
Help please, my lollipop hasn't laid in about six days and she's acting completely normal. Her colors are good ok her comb and wattle she's eating and drinking and roosting, she's not dropping any feathers. I keep checking her vent and she has not issues she has no parasites or anything.
When you love your pet itâs always a struggle if you have done the right thing. I had a cat that was 19 years old and she had great blood work from the vet and just was going down. I chose to let her go and some days I struggle that maybe I could have done something more. I know I did the right thing but my heart has regrets. But thatâs what we humans do. If you think of a pack of dogs they leave the weak behind to die. We just love them!
Why is the hen crowing?
It is from geese and ducks. Are they going to cull all of the migrating birds or just your food birds?
The fear of bird flu (I am sure) is not what fuels the public worry. It is the bird flue after gain of function has been messing around with the virus
Sadly the test they use has shown to be 90%+ false positive. Think đ€
Hello Dalia, even in the Netherlands you have fansđ. I have been following you for some time now and think that you are very respectful and have a love for people and animals. Thank you for the information presented in a pleasant manner. You are a wonderful person! I also have another question, I don't know if you have discussed that topic before: which essential oils can be used for chickens? When and how? I look forward to your reply, hope to learn more about it. Kind regards from the Netherlands đ±đș
You gave Phillipe THE BEST POSSIBLE LIFE!! I felt the same way when my dog passed - he was struck by a car right in front of me, survived for three days but passed away. I tortured myself with the "what if's" and the "if only's" We got a sympathy card from our Vet's office saying essentially the same thing I'm telling you - Phillie had the best life full of love, joy, and caring - and a girlfriend! Your Heart is amazing, your intentions come from love. What more could a Rooster ask?? Much love to you and all your boys and girls grom me and my 14 girls - or maybe 13 and one Roo, not sure yet! đđ„°â€ïž
HI! I really appreciate your videos. I live in the Bellingham area and was wondering if you have any suggestions for dealing with a rooster problem. We need to rehome 5 Black Australorp boys. :( Do you know of a good place. I am hoping to avoid craigslist as we have already got some weird responses.
Great info! You mentioned linking a âall about feedâ videoâŠwill you share please? I always wondered about all that powdery stuff left in the scratch and peck feedâŠI will start to wet or ferment!!!
Oops I forgot to put that in the description. Iâll do that now!

Nooice! đ STOC
It's interesting that you mentioned lime. I was wondering why I see flies in my coop so rarely. The so-called coop is a basement actually and now I have 28 chicken and 40 chicks (to replace the old generation gradually, the intention is to keep less than 30 adults at any time) in about 25 sq metres (278 sq ft), it is pretty crowded, i.e. now I have exactly 1 individual per 4 sq ft, but usually they have more than double that area. I have 4 slit windows, which I keep open throughout the year except winter when only one is partially open but has an aspirator with a timer that turns it on for 15 minutes every hour... I do not change the bedding too frequently and do not change it ever during and around winter period for about 5-6 months. I do not heat the basement and it gets pretty cold. Whatever relative warmth exists there is due to the rotting bedding... But whenever I could feel the smell of ammonia, I give it a turn, top it up a bit and sprinkle generous handfuls of hydrated lime... It really helps. My chicken never had any breathing problems so far. I mean if you could smell it at 1.5 metres above ground, can you imagine how it would smell at chicken-height? But the lime takes care of it effectively. Perhaps that's why I do not have any flies even in the hot summer. And, lime has another good side to it. Part of it will eventually be eaten by the chicken unintentionally. It will stick to food they will be picking from the ground and it is calcium! I do mix a few spoonfuls of lime in their hydrated food from time to time too and never had any issues with calcium deficiency ever. I do give them crushed egg shells whenever available too, it is better digested and absorbed than lime, it is calcium carbonate as opposed to the lime, which is calcium hydroxide. But still, lime mixed to the feed is good as a calcium source.
You are pretty
I n not allowed a rooster where I live , so have to buy in hens I only buy from two breeders who vaccinate all hens pedigree breeds and hybrids to full commercial standards Iâm in the UK so they are vaccinated against all diseases that could affect hens in the UK including salmonella: Love the beautiful and clear information you pass on us all. With love to yours and your delightful flock.
Australia has culled thousands of chickens saying it was the bird flu
Omg I †your outfit!!!! Soooo cute!!! I'm dealing with this problem with my chickens that I adopted!! Its been so atressful. Ive been feeding them scratch and peck!!
Here's a practical tip to avoid bird flu; don't vaccinate.
They inject it in the birds. After being given the vaccines they get sick.
It's just more effing propaganda from our dissolving government
President Dahlia, I got your book in the mail today and this evening there you were in Sow The Land's video! How fun is that! I've already started reading your book and once I finish it I am giving it to my Doctor. She and her hubby just bought 3 acres and want to start a flock of chickens. I figured your book would be a good way for them to learn.
Awesome! Thank you!
I went to the farm store today for a bag of food. And bam! Chicken Math happened. They had lavender keets which I been wanting (didn't want to mail order a whole dozen). Then, to twist my arm, most of the chicks were a dollar! And they weren't very old! Well what was a chicken addict to do? I brought home 4 chicks and 4 keetsâ€.
No Pick works great. Use as needed. This is the first time I've had to use it for 2-3 years. Like you, I will wet the mash. I also ferment whole grain scratch. Once a week I will scramble up some eggs to give to my birds. When I use eggs, I save the egg shells and roast them. Once cooled, I'll crumble the shells and give back to the ladies.
I have a hen that thought she wanted to be broody and she plucked her belly feathers off.....then she gave up after like a week lol
Dahlia, this video was a very timely one for me. I'm so glad that you posted it. I'm having problems with 2 feather pickers in my flock. They're not doing it out of aggression. They are doing it impulsively and opportunistically. all but a couple of the other chickens have lost feathers to them. And they are indeed eating the feathers. I feed all of them both mash and crumbles, but they like the mash the most. I also give them black soldier fly larvae and black oil sunflower seeds with their scratch grains when they get treats. I think that your idea about fermenting the mash is brilliant because I've noticed that the group go through a lot of oyster shells that I put out as a supplement. This tells me that they're not eating the parts of the feed that they need for calcium, so it stands to reason that they could be missing other valuable nutrients that are causing them to exhibit this behavior. I also think that they might be a bit crowded on their roost. I need to space the two bars farther apart. I've been negligent in doing this because it's going to require me to do a bit of deconstruction of parts of the coop. Additionally, until recently, all eight of the girls were trying to use one of the two nesting boxes. I decided to put a fake egg in both of them, and now they lay in both boxes. They are prolific layers, so I believe that they could use a few more nesting boxes, so I have purchased 4 more that I will be assembling and placing in their coop. And finally, while they do have 10 square feet per chicken in the run, I'm going to steal some of the space from the coop that my older chickens are in because they have a lot more than they need and incorporate it into their run. Thanks for the great tips! Sorry to be so "long winded!" đ
I read the whole thing! Sounds like you have a great setup. â€
@@WelcometoChickenlandia thanks so much! đ„°
I love the jumper shorts. I found a chicken shirt. Love it
Thank you for doing this video! Love your chickens â€ïž!
I have can Eglu Cube with a 9 x 13 run for 3 chickens. The floor is sand but I do let them out on the grass to graze almost every day for an hour or two. Have seen definite feather picking. One is really bad, almost 30 - 40%. What would you suggest? I live in the suburbs and can't really get a bigger coop right now, but they don't use it during the day except to lay eggs. Any help would be appreciated.â€
3 chick's were feather picked, and drew blood. They won't leave the littlest alone. But i have no room to reintegrate. In a dig crate with the flock. What to do with the cannibals???
Love your outfit and that color looks good on you. Out of my 6 one year old hens had one who was low on pecking order and now that my 5 , three month old are out she's pecking the feathers out of them. Hope that doesn't happen when my 12 day old get out there. Going to go watch that video. Thanks
Earlier this year I lost a hen to a coyote, and ever since then the flock dynamics have changed. I have one hen (Cassy) who I thought had gone broody, but in reality she was hiding in the nesting boxes. I knew she was being picked on and put some blue kote on her neck. As long as it stayed on she didn't lose feathers. I saw that the other hens and the rooster were aggressive to her so I separated her to her own area. I tried putting a hen in with her that she grew up with and they immediately started fighting. Cassy has since started re-growing her feathers. It took about 2.5 weeks for her to start laying again. She has tried a few times to get into the other outdoor run to be with them. Today I saw the rooster and a few hens trying to get to her through the fence. I believe the flock has disowned her completely. Do I get another hen or a rooster of her very own?!
My chickens all roost together at night and leave 50 percent of the roost bars empty.
They not molting
I have partridge silkie who is a year and 3 months old. She just molted recently and her feathers came back black! Sheâs gorgeous! I was shocked. Her molt was rough. I honestly thought she was getting picked on. Her name is bluey. Now Iâll have to call her black beauty â€
First time chicken mom and I want to make a first aid kit for chickens. Have you made a video on this? I looked through some of your videos but didn't see it.
Look...there's a feather I'd like to pick with you...the real issue? You never said where you got that fantastic outfit! That, and I walk away from this being scolded...as soon as you said "flock block" I opened a new window and you're like "don't do that yet" and came right back...he he...my Lucy all of a sudden has a patch of feathers missing on her neck, and let me tell you - she has the best 80's hairdo of feathers on her, she be like "don't touch my hair" I had a chicken who started bullying intensely and sadly I re-homed her...now my flock is quiet again...literally the girls did NOT want to go to bed, so I made the decision for the betterment of my flock, I need peace. Don't judge me, please! Thanks for sharing! You're the best. :)
No judgement, ever! Youâre doing great! â€â€â€â€
