Presentation: Touching a Stranger's Child
This is an example of an Application Presentation submitted by a student enrolled in my Social Psychology course. It is posted here (with the student’s permission) to help future students in the class. Students create Application Presentations toward the end of the semester. The presentations are designed to help students apply social psychological solutions to everyday problems. Students define a societal problem, propose a social psychological solution, and share their insights with the class by recording presentation. Solutions should be based a student’s own brilliant social psychological insights, and based on social psychological principles, research, and theories discussed in the textbook.

PSY 2120: Two Options for Structuring Research Report 2
zhlédnutí 56Před 2 měsíci
In this video, I discuss two options for structuring Research Report 2. One option involves writing a single-study APA-style research report. I suspect most students will select that option. Another option involves writing a multi-study APA-style research report that combines Research Project 1 (our survey research) with Research Project 2 (our experimental research). Students may decide which ...

For change, you don't even have to do that much mental math. For example, for the $5 tendered and $1.03 that is owed, just make that #1.03 add up to a dollar. In this way you're adding, not subtracting where there's a higher chance of a mistake occurring. Only subtraction occurs IF that dollar bill is given with cents.

In most races, you can vote for just one person. For example, for President of the USA, you can vote for just one person. However, in some situations, there might be several vacant seat, such as for county commissioner. In those situations, you might be able to vote for more than one person to full the multiple seats. Some people like the idea of ranked voting (i.e., ranking those running from most preferred to least preferred), but that hasn't gained much steam in the USA.

My iphone has a simple calculator if I hold it vertically, but a much more sophisticated calculator if I hold it horizontally. Give that a try if you'd like another option.

I posted a similar video with a second solution that uses flash fill. I recommend trying that. Here's the video: czcams.com/video/rrggzpaUb78/video.html

That's ok. It's not easy for most people. I suggest that you watch the video again and focus on just one example. Study that example thoroughly, until you really get it. Then try to master the next example. And spend some time just thinking about it. For example, think about why someone might pay $11 when their bill is just $6. If you can understand that specific example, then you can understand any example, because they're all based on the same concept.

is their a quicker way to figure out the distance ..... because I don't have time to figure the gap between 36 and 300 or certain prices involving larger numbers..

Well, the gap between 36 and 300 can be determined just about as quickly as the gap between 36 and 100. You'd just need to add 200 more. I'm not saying it's easy for everyone or that it's quick for everyone, and sometimes, it's better not to rely on your head, particularly when the consequences could be disastrous if you make a mistake.
