  • This video focuses on why scientific research methods in psychology are better than our own intuition when trying to make sense of human thought and behavior. For example, our intuition tends to be overly influenced by good stories, what's top-of-mind (availability heuristic), and evidence we agree with (confirmation bias). However, when relying on our intuition, we often overlook what isn't obvious (present/present bias), including our own biases (bias blind spot).
