1976. I bought a brand new GS 550 in Great Falls Montana. I recognize that sound anywhere 1976 was the first year of the series. They also introduced the GS 750 that had five speeds but GS 550 had six I was never that crazy about fifth and six gear. The difference between them. But it does allow you to get up to 140 miles an hour because I did it that next day I'm Great Falls all the way up to glacier national Park lickety flick I was there. 55 minutes from Great Falls.

I bought the purple one ( zx 6 e ) in may or june of 94 and totalled it in less than 4 weeks and went ahead and bought the green one about 2 months later as soon as I was able to get back to normal. Guess what? I chrushed that one as well but doing only 65 mph this time and the bike didn't roll and tumble only slid on its left side. Well, I ended up riding it till about 2008 and loved every moment of it. What a beautiful and friendly bike it was!! I am 63 now and wish I still had it🫤

Lovely, brings back great memories of the bygone era of my youth.I had one in Germany around 84 (goddamn 40 years!)and it had only 15 ponies but it was nippy enough for a first bike. And the sound...I fell in love with it when I first started it -It was sold then!and it was so different from the CB400 I was used to for my driving lessons.A friend had a GT 125 and it was a sweet mashine. They sounded a lot bigger than what they were.

it is important to let the 450 engine idle for approximately 60-120 seconds prior to revving, or else you could do damage to the top end. it takes that amount of time for the oil to travel to the top end. it says so in the honda manual
