Your miners moss isn’t backed. All of that sand that gets below your miners moss continues to migrate down. As does your gold. I would suggest a bottom laver of v-matting. It’s a barrier that will prevent migration. Gold will accumulate and stay put. If you ever get up here to AK, drop me a line to say hi.

First time watching! I love this. I'm in Northern Wisconsin. Do you ever get up this way to do any prospecting? I'm right at the upper Michigan border and Wisconsin located right in the middle of the state basically.

Grew up in Belgium, just inland from Harrington and spent a substantial amount of my childhood there. It’s an underrated state park.

As I do live near by the Nugget Lake Park, and am quite informed and interested in the history and geology of the area. It is well known that an ancient meteor impacted the area. Its also know that a very rare metal, Iridium can be associated with meteor sites. Mabe those silvery white rocks are actually more valuable than the gold?

As you probably already know, metal detecting is not allowed in Wisconsin state parks. Some idiots got it outlawed fifteen years ago for taking ancient Indian artifacts from a state park without notifying state authorities.

I have been studying the history of Lake Michigan recently. The glaciers deposited a lot of flour gold along our shores. At 19:00 I use the same technique to check for anything I missed. Works well too. Yes test panning beach sand is tough. That stuff does not like to separate easily.
