Just a couple of kiwis, living in London who decided to buy a sail boat and chase the horizon back to New Zealand.
We’re not expert sailors and we’re certainly not experts at making videos but we’re capturing some footage as we go and mashing it together.
We left Brighton on the 3rd July 2019 and are hoping to make it back to New Zealand by Christmas 2020 via the Caribbean 🌴☀️🐠

The Loft Project
We're back! :) After returning to New Zealand we had some pretty big plans to build a Rammed Earth home but that project was going to take a while so in the meantime we needed somewhere to live. In this episode we convert the storage attic of Asher's dads' work-shed into a little apartment. We're certainly not building experts so we wouldn't recommend using these techniques yourself but we had a lot of fun and this is the result.

There are a lot of sharks in the passes in the Tuamotus. There are also a lot of fish, so the idea of spear fishing is quite alluring. Don't do it. Returning to watch one of my favourite sailing channels. It’s still so good and informative.
France is no different than most countries. You have to go to a port of entry WITH your boat when you arrive in a country. That’s where you’ll find immigration and customs. You’ll find the rules in pilot books, websites etc. Simple?
What type of hanks do you use on your staysail? If you don’t use the shower how do you take showers ?great video well done and informative. Thank you for taking the time.
So after owning our 361 for 2 years I’ve decided to watch your journey again to see if there are any more tips I could pic up 😊. What was going on with your starter motor that you needed to change it? Very occasionally ours clicks but then starts in the next attempt so it’s something I’m considering.

Where I lived 1959-1961
I can only hear this guy saying ah or ahm. I tried to count and got over 100 times. Now that I’ve noticed it’s all I hear. Ah aside from that ah it’s ah a great ah video lol. Dang not sure if I do that but if anyone counts please post the aah times.
What a great journey and adventure. Watched every episode and truly enjoyed it. The sale of the boat must have been emotional (I was for me watching). Hoping that one day you will embark on another sailing adventure here on CZcams. Much appreciation from Austria!
Did the rope fender work out okay? I've just finished building and need to attach some kind of fender round mine.

Actually weighing up whether to get a beneteau 36cc, we'd love to do ocean passages at some point and want to have lovely live aboard accommodation. Not sure what model your 36 beneteau is? I'm getting the impression many people dislike it just because it's a production boat - interested in how she's likely to cope with blue water sailing as ultimately we'd end up having to switch to another yacht in a few years when we're ready for that if she wouldn't...but she's so lovely and beamy that she seems otherwise great.

Hi Guys, appreciate i'm really late to the party but just discovered this vlog- its so enjoyable to watch- we're upto ep25. We are hoping to do some long distance cruising when we can sort the finances out! I'm just wondering, how did you guys finance this trip? I notice in the first couple of episodes Asher does work from his laptop occasionally but that seems to stop after you get over the Atlantic. Many thanks in advance! Toby
Hey Toby! Exciting for you guys. We mostly financed the trip from our savings but Asher did do some contracting work from time to time when it made sense. We started off both working a couple of days a week but that was way too tricky to manage so in the end just chose blocks when we were stuck in certain places.
