Giant induction coil picking up Audio 5 feet away!
This is an expanded video of my Giant Inductive pick up coil experiment.
Have you ever wondered how far the electromagnetic fields from power lines can be picked up? In this experiment I brought a large coil of wire with me far up in the mountains, and attached it to my audio amplifier, and much to my surprise, I still had a pretty strong 60 cycle AC hum at a great distance from the power lines.
The other reason I wanted to get away from the 60 Cycle AM hum, was that I wanted to see how far a giant inductive coil would be able to hear small electromagnetic signals powering the speaker in my small digital tape player.
Regarding my question about what you might hear, if you constructed a giant induction coil, I think the video at this link pretty well explains it.. czcams.com/video/iHY-GMrqK9A/video.html
For anyone interested in knowing the coil size. I used two coils in this experiment. Each coil was wound on a spool that had 34 inch circumference, and each coil weighed about 6 pounds. The wire appears to be 30 gauge. You can use copper enamel magnet wire, or whatever you happen to have, but it seems that the larger the diameter of the spool it's wound on, the more sensitive it appears to be, and the more turns you have, the more sensitive it appears to be.
Have fun and please be safe.

Amazing experiment!! i will try myself 😁
No weird at all, its oscillations, you can even use leds it can be used as a photoresistor
Thats how they do private lines back in the day
We used to build these so guys running glass furnaces could call each other (one at loading end and the other person unloading). I think we added a buzzer in the wiring to get attention.
You can use 400,000 hertz and listen in even with the phone on hook. This is due to the capacitance of the switch hook. You are NOT supposed to know this.
Minus 48 volts
I have done it but would I tack nails into the wood and stand back at least 5-6ft or more and use an extension cord to plug in the microwave transformer. I did go to school for a little bit for electronics and know how dangerous that kind of amperage is that's running through those.
I'm glad you're playing it safe.
Nice fun video, I tried this with China 1ss866 diodes without H it didn’t work you did not say if your led was special or not but eBay has the H branded diodes 5 for $20. Little to expensive for a five minute experiment I think.
Yes the price for the original Hitachi diode was a little disappointing. The 1N5711 also worked, but it's not as sensitive at the higher frequencies.
cool!
😢 Landline 😢
Thank u for your videos!❤ DNA actually seems to be a structured antenna: czcams.com/video/B3jf_d_TVc8/video.htmlsi=c9PqwB2iBIhHNMs1 Your own cool giant induction coil from another vid shows that even low power signals can be important. So, without worrying unnecessarily or casting aspersions anywhere, I am unconvinced we should not investigate the matter in more in detail.
Ah, this is why I hate CZcams shorts. I've not seen the previous video, but I enjoyed this (not enough to leave a like) and wanted to see more (and I might have then left a like). Instead we got this somewhat interesting short that left me feeling unsatisfied.
The shorts can generate a lot of subscribers in a short period of time, and can be useful when you're looking for condensed information, but the down side is trying to fit enough information in 60 seconds to make them worth watching.
Very interesting, good video.
I was a regular fan of My favorite Martian as a kid. Believe it or not the strand you saw on my finger was glue. I should have cleaned it off before making the video.
Step 1: build metal house near a radio tower step 2: infinite free electricity!
In my limited capacity, I'm glad to have learned this & with limited resistance but I'm unsure if I'll be granted the chance to use it? 😁
Unless you do a lot of repairs perhaps not.
make a song with this
It's not fake guys i've done this last year ❤❤
If you had those big copper coils. The homeless metal scrapers would steal the copper.
Sadly that's often the case in these parts.
The sound of those handsets hanging up brought back memories
some further explanations: - the remote control uses light to transfer information to the thing it is controlling. You can check this by poiting your phone camera towards the led at the ned of the remote. - leds and solars are technically the same thing. leds converts electricity to light, and solars convert light to electricity. you can swap the roles and use leds as solars but the electricity won't be enough to power anything, or pass a current through solars to generate light, but the light will be visible yo the naked eye. - in the end, he is converting electrical impulses to light impulses using led, the converting those light impulses to electrical impulses using solars, then convert those electrical impulses to sound waves using the amplifier. this is how the internet work these days btw.
After seeing this I spent the past hour trying to see how to make one like thus myself. This is so interesting and inspiring, Please make a tutorial video!
There isn't much to making one of these, The solar panel has two output wires, and the amplifier has two input wires. Hook them together and you're good to go.
Actual "free energy". Edit: Just found out RF harvesting is actually a real thing being toyed with currently😶. What Tesla imagined, Marconi made possible.
It seems like the energy losses are to bad at a distance to make wireless power transmission practical.
I would love it if you could make a tutorial video on how to make that solar audio panel detector you made in that shorts video!
This is basically how wireless cell phones chargers work...
Yes it's the same principle.
fyi @ 00:36 - 1.27 MHz, not kHz
You're right. Not to many people caught that.
it is HeTouchE - this is how you read HITACHI;) thx
Where do you get these kinds of magnets from?
I found them on ebay under the name rare earth magnets.
I worked as a installer for our local phone company. between 50-70 v should get the job done for the ringer. really depends on the phones if you can get it to work at a lower voltage
Thanks for the information.
Ring voltage from the telco is 90 volts AC. Electronic ringers can work with voltage in the 40V range which was more common in Europe.
Now program it to say "TURN OUT THAT LIGHT!" Like this is looney tunes lol
The lady's an eater… if you wanna meter better be ready to feed her
You're going to get static anywhere on earth at least from the Schumann resonance, will have to make a band pass filter to clear it up completely
Flintstones radio
Kool
Man, that signal would obliterate the front end of a portable AM radio!
You'e right. I attached the end of the wire to my HF transceiver, and all I could get was one frequency no matter which band I switched to.
Forget the magnet, let’s talk about the antenna protruding from your finger sir. It reminded me of Uncle Martin from “My favorite Martian”! ✌🏽😜
My God we can use this to transmit information in vast distances
This is already being done with radio waves.
Cool... Bat phone...
Thanks for this great video! Learned a lot from it!
Glad you enjoyed it.
LW radios don't have an antenna but a coil. It picks up the magnetic field instead of electric. And that works over the horizon like 1500 km.
What's the number
Haha I accidently found this out early as a kid when playing around with broken phones and 12v car battery 😂
If Jupiter‘s magnetic field were visible, it would subtend about 60 minutes of arc - twice that of the moon.
They actually go out to infinity, just like sound waves, but the range of detection is limited by instrument sensitivity
that's just lovely :)
Titles including “free energy from…” normally get downvotes. This is slightly above that threshold
I understand. it's a shame there are so many scammers trying to fool people with devices that don't really work.
@@GrantsPassTVRepair couldn’t agree more. Those types of videos derail developing minds onto paths that just distract. Hail to the folks that make us smarter. Thanks!
That is honestly so interesting
The inside of this dudes house is exactly as I imagine when I see a house with a giant antennae out front.
