  • On my way to this antenna job I noticed a car parked on the side of the road which had graffiti sprayed on the side of it which read "one broke b--tch" and while leaving this job I discovered this same car was on fire, and the forest next to it was starting to burn.. I'm not sure about the cause of this, but I'd guess it was most likely arson.
The antenna I used to replace his old one was an RCA model ANT705, and I've found it to be a fairly good antenna for some parts of Grant Pass. Other parts of Grants Pass require a yagi antenna with a little more gain on the VHF frequencies.

The title of this video should be "Smoke Signals".

Antennas need to be very beaten up before they stop working. I worked on comms links in Afghanistan during the "problems" and dishes with shell holes in them still worked just fine.

Similar thing happened on the dirt road I lived on 20 years ago. Some one set an RV on fire for the insurance money.

How many more channels did he get with the new antenna vs the old?

insurance fraud ? or who knows, maybe there was a poor battery connection that caused a spark?

That antenna reminded me of the Flintstones cartoon where you see the primitive tv antennas made of sticks on the rooftops , looks like the fire is intentional

Wow, that’s something you don’t stumble upon everyday!

That anntena looks like some we had back when I was a kid in the sixty's. There was a car fire here last month, sad thing though. There was a body in the back seat. I haven't heard anything else though. I asume they are investigating it. All my best.

Wow! That would have been a huge fire if you hadn’t of seen it and I’m guessing CJ area.

When I called 911 they told me someone else called before I. But had the wind been strong that day I'm sure it could have been quite serious..

@@GrantsPassTVRepair dont u normally test ur work?? When i was on the job I always recorded the test results and filed them incase the customer ever rang back if the equipment broke down.

@@OffGridAussiePrepper Yes I used a signal meter, but I didn't think the increased signal strength would be that interesting to others under the circumstances..

@@GrantsPassTVRepair always interesting to know the size/scale or magnitude of the improvement. You improved the safety of the installation (assuming he now takes down the old one) so that is worth some time and money 😎
