When I was pretty young (8-10 years old I think?) I would go into random articles written on websites like Spruce Pets and stuff about whether cats or dogs were “better” and would argue in the comment section with other 8-10 year olds that went there for the same reason. I would also go through each point the article listed and meticulously disprove why it was wrong. I loved cats so much I couldn’t stand the fact that anyone considered dogs better and would argue like my life depended on it on these random articles’ comment sections 💀

i kiiiiiind of had ambitions of making a big open world mmo game as a kid but i was 13 in 2009 so it didnt really feel as doable at any point (esp bc i was super intimidated by tech stuff back then) i really wanted to make a bunch of rpg maker horror games when i was a teenager and i now i do actually own rpg maker mv so i am making an rpg maker game, not a horror game like i wouldve wanted tho just a regular fantasy rpg lol but i still like to think my younger self would be excited to find out about it, i think that counts as living the dream.

I would spend hours roleplaying with my best friend at the time on groups in SCRATCH. Thousands and THOUsands of messages (and they were long too, not just like single lines of dialogue) and soooo bad..😭 so angsty and we were constantly breaking the scratch rules (because it was supposed to be 100% family friendly) but somehow I only got banned once

This reminded me of when I was 13 and made my own "wolf clan" organization in a Minecraft server my cousins were in (it was for homeschooled kids, but no one had to know I wasn't). I think it was like a Warrior Cats/FeralHeart lovechild of a project and all the clans had stupid names like Water Clan or Flower Clan. My exposure to "Infection AU's" was through Wings of Fire and I began to notice a pattern with all of the stories; they'd kill off the less popular characters and keep the fan favorites alive. A lot of them also feel very copy-pasted it's just 3 or 4 characters are shuffled around. An infection AU for Wings of Fire could be *super* unique, esp because there are literally bug dragons and an ant zombie fungus, it's just people stick to the same "first... they get a wound... second... they get bloody and scary.... three... they are no jaw and have scary smile...." thing.

We were all cringy kids once, I think it's healthy. When I was in elementary school, it was really popular to write Tokio Hotel fanfictions in my country- this was our sold-to-One-Direction- and I wrote one on a teenage girl dominated blogging platform, a new chapter every week for MONTHS. It was a typical Cinderella story, the main character works in a hotel as a maid, everyone is mean to her but then she meets the guys and everything is perfect, except for the mandatory misunderstanding based drama sititations. The embarassing part? I never really liked Tokio Hotel. And before you ask: yes, it was self-insert.
