    I sure enjoy being along on your rides. :) the ebike looks great & Ive been wanting an AWD ebike. in looking I didnt find a step thru model (?) my 1st ebike was a step over as I thought Im a gy n been riding a few years & the mens frame will be great for me. later I won a step thru & thought my wife will like that! [she says its too big for her] so I ride it & WOW what a difference! ez on & off and after a while riding im stiff.but can get on ez no go again. Ive been looking for an awd ebike in hopes it will be a better trail bike as there are miles of trails here and unused logging roads - up, down n around. [the atv takes me there,but I want to ebike :) ] been looking at the mooncool mc3 an AWD step thru, but only 500 watt motors the philodo looks better & has more power tho. do you or others have suggestions about what awd step thru ebike might be a good one?

      Thank you so much for watching. : ) Have you looked at my Hanevear? It is a 20 inch, so it is smaller. I use it when we go to trails as it will fit in the car with my other 2 ebikes. It is AWD and will go anywhere. Here is my playlist for it, if you want to check it out: czcams.com/play/PLCOOqmV303D3ZH5tqzBQH9lZ38CCkfWvG.html&si=ia8g-d5STMoFlGst

      @@papablueshirt I see that and great for a city person. Im trying for bigger tires 24x4 are good maybe 3"? but a ride that looks like an Ebike Im tall and like control for "real trails [rocks. tree limbes ect] debris often on real trails :) The philodo, keetles pro or the MC3 are good types that still look like a bike & should have better control so I dont have to fight to ride. thank you for the suggestion tho. that looks like a fine camp ebike

    • @papablueshirt
      @papablueshirt Před dnem

      It does have the 20 inch tires, but it is bigger than it looks. That is the first thing everyone says when they get it. "this bike is bigger than I thought" The 20 inch tires make it so I can put down the seat so I can reach the ground, but a person could adjust it up according to how tall they are. This video here is me riding on difficult wood trails czcams.com/video/FePogw16bJs/video.htmlsi=dOsjZQx5wcG8JszH It did real well, the trails may be easy compared to what you were used to, but they were kind of over my ability at the time, but the bike did well. I think you are right, this is a nice camping ebike. I rode 5 hours in the woods, finally had to come out of the woods and ride the asphalt to get the battery to die LOL. I did ride the 35 mile difficult wood trail several times with my Philodo H8, it did it no problem. I think it would be hard to go wrong with the H8. And if you like to ride a long ways like me, the Jumbo with the dual battery and full suspension is great. I have seen some models styled like the H8 with 24 inch tires. Me being on the shorter side, they look intriguing. Anyway, let me know what you end up with : )

      @papablueshirt Před 2 dny

      I went ahead and added the link for you. It is the first one in the description. If you have a standard type battery lock this should work for you and it is a 2 pack so you will have an extra. Hope that helps :) If your bike has a polly type battery let me know and I will steer you in the right direction.

      The link seems to be working from this end, however it looks like your battery is a different type. Yours looks more like a silverfish type, but you would need to remove it to make sure. If so you can find them by doing a search on Amazon for "silverfish ebike battery key" It pulls up several that may work, but you will need to match them up. Hope that helps : )

    Are you planning on changing your tires soon? Have you done that on the H8? Looking to change mine to the HEB all scape tires but I keep seeing it may slow the acceleration/ top speed down and might drain the battery a bit more. Thoughts? I still have quite a bit to go but I wouldn’t mind going off the trails but afraid of getting a flat and lugging a heavy bike back to my truck

    • @papablueshirt
      @papablueshirt Před 2 dny

      I have changed the rear tire as it wore out pretty fast. [up coming video] I will change the front soon. I was a little undecided as I did lose speed and range with my H8. But I decided to go ahead with one change. I decided to not put flatout in my tires. I put the heb alscapes on my H8 and then put flatout in and I think the flatout is what causes the problems. So for this bike I went with Ultraverse tires. Which I believe it is the same tire as the Heb with different branding. As of yet, I only changed the rear. I am glad to say I actually got higher speeds and have not noticed any change with range. I think the ultraverse may be a little taller than the stock tires so I am thinking that is where the speed increase came from. I am getting 2-3 mph faster. I think the flatout just adds a lot of spinning weight to the tires which slows them down. It did make my H8 more stable, but I like the speed LOL These thicker tires are supposed to be flat resistant, so I don't think most people need the flatout. If going off road a person could carry a little can of fixaflat to have that peace of mind. With my H8 I thought, well as the tires wore out I would get my speed back. Problem is, they never wear out LOL. I am pushing 6k miles and they still look new. The front still has the little nibs. Anyway, I really like these tires and I think it is a very worth while upgrade. It really makes the bike more stable and they seem to last forever Hope that helps : )

    I think you forgot how to ride the H8, it's stuck at 14k and change, never to see 15k until the year 2525...lol Down to 3 E-bikes now, gave away the Wallke H6 MAX. Younger brother will get the Wired Freedom soon as I get closer to the Pre-order Furious EMX Ultimate.

    • @papablueshirt
      @papablueshirt Před 2 dny

      I have been trying out new setups on my Jumbo, seat adjustments, handlebar extender, etc. So I have been dialing it in and did not want to change bikes so I am sure which changes help my back situation. My plan is to get them both to 15k by the end of the year, so I try to ride the H8 once a week. It is a pretty lofty goal, but I am hopeful I will move beyond my back/hip issues and can do some serious riding soon. Who was the lucky one to get the Walke? Pretty neat gift if you ask me : ) I am sure your brother will love the Freedom as well. How long before the Furious arrives?

    • @NOWitsOKto
      @NOWitsOKto Před 2 dny

      @@papablueshirt The website for the Furious says "Pre-Order Price $2,399 (Regular Price $2,699) Save $300. Deliveries begin August or Sooner!" So that's all I know. I put down the $200 pre-order “fee” (refundable), and I also went for the "Additional Pr-Order Special 2nd Battery 60v15Ah option in rear rack for $200, regular price $600". I guess that means I will have to pay $2,399 more once they are ready to ship. The main battery looks like the same that fits the Wire Freedom (may be wired differently though) and is 20 Ah, the rack battery is 15 Ah. System is a 60 volt like the Wired, so it has a LOT of GIT UP N GO to it. The bike can be operated in rear drive only, front drive only, and two AWD modes. One shows a “lightning bolt” in the wheels on the display which is maximum torque, and if you turn the “lightning bolt” off it becomes less aggressive. Full suspension with a rear air shock like the Wired. CZcamsr CitizenCycle got the pre-production model, and has a couple of videos on it if you care to watch. Go to his channel and search for EMX Ultimate. He seems quite impressed with the ride quality. It's a 20" wheel like that Havever (I may have misspelled) that you have.

      The main difference is the extra battery. If you need the extra range it is certainly worth it. To me that is the deciding factor. My MaxFun I put a bridle on it and tuned it for 16-17 mph in PAS 1, 21ish in PAS 2, and in PAS 3 26-28. Atm, that's all the faster I care to go, although some reviewers of it have done 43 mph. 43 is too fast for this 70 yr old at 7-8 inches off the ground standing. Oh, forgot to tell you I "Pre-order" another e-bike. Going to rid myself of a couple. Think the Wired Freedom will go to my younger brother. He used to own a motorcycle, so he should be able to handle that beast.

    • @papablueshirt
      @papablueshirt Před 5 dny

      I almost bought one, putting the bed back level was a great first step that really helped. Having the whole bed inclined 6 inches is good for reflux stuff, but not good for back issues as it is like being in traction all night. A zero gravity you can put the feet up and it combats that. Maybe I will get one in the future. Having back issues you tend to collect things. My wife says "add it to your collection" LOL I have a collection of gadgets, some worked well. Others like my inversion table are just collecting dust.

    TL;DR: wound healing isn't perfect if the wound is deeper than the first layer of living cells in your skin (if it goes into dermis). Med student here: your skin contains a lot of different types of cells in different layers. The top two layers of skin (old skin cells + epidermis) are very simple and often heal fully if they're damaged. If the wound goes deeper (into dermis), some cell types that are damaged or scraped off can't be remade and don't migrate into the healing wound. This results in a scar with reduced sensitivity to touch and pain and reduced pigmentation (via melanin). The scar is also much harder than surrounding skin because some of the space that cells previously occupied is now taken up by long protein-fibres that usually exist between the cells but are now much more prevalent than normal.

    Are those the stock crank arm length size? 170 mm? Why not just get a new chain ring? Would a shorter crank make it a little easier to pedal?

    • @papablueshirt
      @papablueshirt Před 6 dny

      Yes, they are 170mm. The original did not have a replaceable chainring, so you would need to change the crankset as well. Now It is interchangeable, so I can change if needed. Yes, shorter cranks would reduce the travel of the legs, so it would be easier. You do lose leverage with shorter cranks, but I don't think it is much of a deal with an ebike. Being on the short side, it really helps to shorten the cranks. I tried some 155mm on my H8 and I love them. I have some 140mm on order and if they work well on my Jumbo, I will try them on this as well as I think this would really benefit from shorter cranks not having an adjustable seat. : )

    • @papablueshirt
      @papablueshirt Před 7 dny

      As a person who lives with chronic pain, it was not my intention to devalue a person's suffering. I should have included more context in the short. I was talking about a 14 year old that had just had a blow gun dart go through his heart. He died before the ambulance got there. They were able to revive him. They got him to the hospital and were able to remove the dart and sew up his heart. It was very touch and go for a while, but now he is making a recovery. In context of that, my back issues seemed small in comparison. Those who watch me regular know I refuse to give up and am searching for a solution. At the time of this video, it was not known if the kid was going to pull through, so I was rather emotional and just thinking out loud.

    Wait in pain for 1500 on the Jumbo? Maybe it's the Jumbo? Maybe ride the H8 till 15k and see if your back gets better quicker. Just a thought, err, I mean brain cramp...lol Ya hope the best for the kid. I remember some of the aches and pains I had over my lifetime and people would say how can you deal with it? I'd reply, sometime to the effect, "At least I'm not blown through a straw". Before I retired years ago, I worked with a gal who had 2-3 kids and had back issues. She said the back issues were worse than having a baby. Beginning of 2024 I started a spreadsheet with each of my bikes and now scooter on it. Each time I ride, I log using Strava (to be consistent). Looking back, I messed up and should have included my car. Would be interesting to see if I rode bikes more or drove more.

      Yeah, small differences that would not matter if you ride 10 miles a day. But 50 miles it can really cause problems. So I am experimenting. Re: car miles, no competition for me. Driving a car is so painful I do not do it any more and very seldom ride. I think we put less than 10k miles on our car a year and probably a couple hundred miles if it was me LOL
