This banjo has a wonderfully balanced tone with hand engraved mother of pearl Man in the Moon inlay. This banjo has one of our Custom tailpieces that was cast in house, it adds a bit of sparkle to the already warm, rich Dobson tones.

Man this is truly such an incredible version of falls of Richmond. It’s insane how syncopated your right hand is while also embellishing perfectly and melodically. Shredding with insane precision and purpose, and beautiful to listen to.

Anyone know what the benefit of playing this tuning in open g is compared to sawmill ? it doesnt seem the b string was played open, just curious x This level of playing is only just starting to make sense to my eyes and ears

Very good lesson! I've played several years now but always enjoy going back to beginner status on these videos and always learn from them. I'm inclined to Pete Seeger type Folk Music so Claw Hammer playing is what's most useful for me as opposed to the rapid Bluegrass picking patterns which are wonderful also, but I don't find myself playing that type music as often. By the way as a history lesson for those interested it was Pete Seeger who first applied the term bum diddy to describe the rhythm of claw hammer playing in his 1947 Banjo Book.
