I wouldn't recommend holding the camera that way on a really stuck filter and putting all the torque on it. I'd rather grab lens for leverage - but that's just me.

Used the hose clip (method #4) on 77mm (hard to grip) after other methods. Worked a treat. You get much more control of how tight the grip is than cable ties (have used that method before).

Good Course for Beginners 😅 but if wanna learn wheel and more advance not recommend

In England the “hose clamp” is called a “jubilee clip”.

This happened to me recently, dam CPL filters are the worse b/c they just spin and are really really thin. The trick that worked for me was to use a wooden spoon and just keep tapping it all around. It loosened the threads from lock. I have moved to magnetic filters LOL

When buying filters one should also Google for “ filter removal tools “ . There are plenty to choose from and very easy to use. Good luck.

If it happens during a job where you don't have any of those tools at hand, just use the sole of your shoe. It has saved me during several jobs. 😂

I was wondering why your filters were unscrewing in the opposite direction as usual. Then realized your video is mirrored XD

You'd have to be a gorilla to either cross thread or over tighten a filter that can't come off without tooling. If this happens to you with any reputable filter brand then I'll gladly take your equipment from you.

I keep a couple of wide rubber bands in one of the pockets of my fishing/photography vest. They save me routinely when using a CPL filter.

Get a filter wrench

I would be careful IF using the back of a knife that folds. If it closes suddenly you might get a bad cut

They also sell thin rubber sheets about 6-8 inch diameter at hardware stores or on amazon for help removing jar lids with a better grip that will work in place of the mouse pad and they are more flexible than a mouse pad. The hose clamp would slide right over those rubber sheets.

I was surprised the first time I had a filter get stuck. The rubber band trick worked, thankfully.
